DESCRIPTION
The T2S light freighter is a workaday cargo transport which was first developed by the venerable Kaniff Yards corporation, and which has been subsequently licensed to numerous smaller shipbuilders without extensive product lines of their own. Though not as capable as modern offerings from the likes of CEC and other major manufacturers, the T2S is affordable, easy to maintain and generally well liked by its operators. The type is most common in the Mid and Inner Rim, although it can be found across the Galaxy.

The T2S is a lopsided-looking craft, 28 meters in length with an offset cockpit and a pair of asymmetrically placed engine pods attached to its rounded, barge-like hull. It can be flown by a single pilot, although a copilot is recommended; passenger capacity is 4 individuals, and accommodations on board are relatively cramped and spartan, but no worse than many other ships in its class. Cargo capacity is 75 standard tons, loaded via a broad clam-shell door in the frontal hull; the ship also has consumables for up to 2 months in space. For defense, the T2S is equipped with medium deflector screens, as well as a single aft dorsal dual laser turret controlled remotely from the cockpit.

The T2S is a popular class of ship for short and medium haul courier work, often used to ferry medium-priority cargo between nearby systems. They are a common "first ship" for independent pilots. Due to Kaniff Yards' licensing of the type's production rights to various third parties, the T2S is available under a variety of different names and in many variations, which can range from the use of locally made components to drastic structural alterations to fit specialized systems.
