So, which of us here actively go to the gym?

This thread will be for all who go for the gains. For those of us who go big instead of going home.

Tell me about your workouts and what you do to stay in shape.

I don't go to the gym, because I'm a genuine heap of garbage, but I just have to say:

I bench scrubs like you who can barely lift a table.
I don't think I've laughed that hard for a long while.

Working out is an enjoyable hobby, and being healthy equates to good lifestyle choices. Never a bad time to discuss it, even when it's Cody bringing it up.

i was a gym rat once upon a time with some weight training for my upper body, but anymore im keeping more or less active with yoga, my martial arts and lots and lots of more intensive hiking- the added flexibility and tone has done more for me health wise, as well as a boon to one of my professions, and I also like not spending so damn much on memberships

I ran a little over 52 miles in hilly West Point last week, according to my watch. Army boxing has a good cardio training regimen that I combine with my own personal 4-week-and-repeat workout plan. If you wanna get athletically fit (Army Ranger fit, not bodybuilder huge) then hit me up. Workout will require either some uncommon gym equipment (double-looped kettlebells and sleds, among others) or some creativity (running up a steep hill with a weighted vest to simulate the sled drag, etc.).

I'm a little late to the party here. But I hit the gym every other day to do some bench pressing, shoulder press, and then I usually get bit of time of the treadmill. On top of that, I'm a mechanic so I do a lot of heavy part lifting .

While I sat at desk for nine hours straight today, my smart watch said I walked for 11 minutes....totally counts.

I'm a Poole in the Marine Corps. That being said I ain't in the best shape, out of my other Pooles I'm definitely in the lower half physically speaking. My Staff Sergeant picks me up almost everyday and we work out pretty hard. She's trying to prepare me for boot camp come October 17th. My run time has gotten consistently shorter. Push ups have gone up steadily and I can finally crank out sit ups for two minutes straight.

Every Thursday we have a mandatory PT at our recruiting station to which all the Pooles are supposed to show up. Last week we had 12 guys attend.

One of my Sergeants led PT and this is what we did last Thursday.

He split us up in to two teams of six. As a team we had to complete the following faster than the other team.

75 pull ups (Ten per Poole was a requirement, the other 15 we split up according to who was good at pull ups)

40 push ups, as a team and none of us could have our knees drop to the ground. Fortunately we all held in there and didn't have to restart the 40.

Flip an 80 pound tire one hundred times split between the team.

1.5 mile group run.

60 Ammo Can lifts. The Ammo Can weighs anywhere between 30-35 pounds and you lift it under your chin to above your head and lock out your elbows. That's 1 rep. Each Poole had to do this on their own. Once the whole team finished you could move on.

Luckily my team won, and the other team had to run 1.5 miles....again.

But we're all a team so we all ended up running it together anyways.

Shockingly, I've actually come to look forward to group PT's.
