Aranmir was excited with this field trip to Shili. The Tiefling had visited the planet several years ago with the circus and he had fallen in love with the beautiful forests and colorful grasslands that filled the landmasses of the Togruta’s homeworld. The boy also liked to watch the very melodramatic holovids that were produced there, with it being a guilty pleasure of his.

Perhaps not so guilty, because the Padawan had no shame in telling everyone that he liked a good soap opera.

The Tiefling really didn't care what others would think about his tastes for entertainment. He even spent the entire trip to Shili talking with the Padawan that seated next him, a tiny girl called Heidi. The conversation was more him spilling the details about the soap operas that the boy had watched through the years.

Even after their transport landed in the spaceport and they walked in the streets of the city of Corvala, Aranmir continued talking with Heidi. "My favorite is the one called The Usurper. It’s about two twin sisters that are separated when they are babies. One is given to a rich family, while the other remains with their mother in poverty."

Without knowing each other, they meet years later and the rich one forces the other to take her place while she goes to spend a year in Canto Bight.” talking about it brought so much nostalgia to him. He would watch the episodes with Lia and Eldan, the Zeltron couple that were the trapeze artists in the circus. “The poor sister was so wholesome, but the rich one was an evil diva. Ela era minha favorita!"

Due to his excitement, the Tiefling had used phrases and words of the language of his homeworld, G’wenee. It had happened since they were on the ship. "If you want, we could watch these novelas together. There are several free ones in the Holonet!"

Heidi had no idea her trip to Shili would turn into an informative talk about this thing called soap opera. It had only been a few weeks since she had joined the Jedi Order, and prior to the Jedi she had little knowledge of technology; adjusting to the ships had been one thing, but the Holonet was... well, it was mind-blowing! And now this Tiefling was sitting next to her, ranting about a soap opera?! It reminded her of a play, but recorded for a trillion people to see. And, well, to be honest, she didn't mind.

No, Heidi was sitting close to the Padawan, her emerald green eyes widened, her bushy tail swooshing back and forth excitedly. She was hooked. It'd gotten so far that by the time they arrived, the girl had forgotten why they were on Shili in the first place.

"I see. I see. It's so tragic that they got separated, and that one of them turned evil?! Ugh, it's clear proof and evidence that no one is born evil; it's the actions of others that make you that way! Otherwise, the sweet girl would have been evil as well!" She shook her head with puffed cheeks as she followed Aranmir through the streets, oblivious to the other Padawans on the class trip.

"Together?" Heidi paused, thinking about it. "You know what, when we get back, we should totally watch some together!" Her gaze eventually shifted away from the Tiefling and toward the city and the Padawans ahead of them, who were standing in front of a statue. "... What are we doing here again? OH RIGHT! Learning about the Togruta culture! I remember!" She smiled widely, showing all of her teeth and fangs. "Let's go catch up with the group I guess."

Yes! There is also that soap opera called Ina of the Shanty Town where the poor girl that grew up in a slum full of criminals is good, while the villain is a rich psychopath.” Aranmir said, agreeing with Heidi’s comment about the environment affecting the development of the people. It could apply to him since he grew up in the streets, but the members of the circus turned him into a nice person. He could have ended as a criminal if it wasn’t for them.

Ina of the Shanty Town is also one of my favorites! The villain is so iconic with her crazy screams.” it could be another one that the Tiefling could watch with the other Padawan. By this point he should start planning a list. There were so many good soap operas that Heidi would like to watch.

Legal!” he said excitedly, after Heidi agreed to watch soap operas with him. “We could even start when going back to the Temple. I brought my datapad, we can watch on it.” it probably would be a good way of using their time.

They were so distracted with the conversation that the two Padawans didn’t notice that their group had stopped in front of a statue. Leading them was a female Togruta Knight called Erseen Phinass. She was also working as their guide. “Children, the person represented in that statue is Prime Minister Gustono Lorm, founder of the Association of Togruta Hunters.” then she proceeded to explain why he had created it.

This talk was a bit boring in Aranmir’s opinion, so he started to look at everything around him except the Jedi Knight. “Do you want to go walk around? This talk about hunting is so boring.” he said to Heidi. Even if she declined, the Tiefling would go alone.

"Oohhh! Yeeeehh!" She nodded several times. "Great idea, we can watch something on our way back to the temple!" She wasn't sure if she'd be able to stay awake while watching something while the ship rocked slightly. But there was only one way to find out. "Can we maybe watch the one with the crazy scream in that case?"

When they got close enough to their guide to hear her mention the Togruta Hunters, the girl's ears twitched. And... well. Heidi didn't exactly hate hunters. It would be unfair to judge other cultures for surviving in any way they can. And for many, survival meant eating meat, which unfortunately meant hunting. But honoring a hunter solely because they were a founder? Her face scrunched at the thought of it.

"Yuuuuups!" She replied almost instantly when Aranmir asked if she wanted to go for a walk. She wasn't sure if she was allowed to leave the group, but no one had explained what she was allowed to do. Aaaannnnd if nobody told her she couldn't leave, they must be free to wander off, right? Plus, she wasn't alone; she was with the Tiefling, who would undoubtedly look after her. "Very boring. And unnecessary. Let's go!"

Without a second thought, the girl turned around, her tail swooshing behind her and nearly colliding with a Twi'lek Padawan, and wandered off into the city.

As they passed some homes, Heidi cast a bored-looking glance around. "Heeey? Did you happen to read the voucher we were given before we left?" It wasn't necessary because they had a guide, but it did contain some information about the town they were visiting, the culture, and some points of interest. "Because I didn't! And I'm not sure where we're going!" She smiled almost sheepishly at the Tiefling.

Of course! You’ll love this one. The protagonist is so charismatic.” Aranmir said to Heidi, before smiling at her. “While there is some drama, it’s so fun how Ina would end up slapping the villains. The one that screams is that she hits the most, there are even punches!

The Tiefling smiled excitedly when Heidi agreed to leave the group of Padawans. This talk about Prime Ministers and their Hunting Associations was so boring. Aranmir thought that they would see more of the Togruta culture, not have a history class. "Without any doubt we can learn more about them by walking around.” he gestured to their surroundings.

They would walk aimlessly for some time, with Aranmir looking at the house that surrounded them. He had expected some type of hut, with hunting weapons outside and meat being dried in the sun. However, what he was seeing was a typical middle class neighborhood. He wondered if they really were in Shili.

Perhaps the things that he read about the Tagruta’s hunting culture only applied to the distant villages.

Nope.” the voucher that Aranmir received ended up as a cute origami dog face. “Diving into the unknown without any knowledge is always more interesting. Besides, we can speak basic! We can always ask someone where the spaceport is and find everyone. So, relax!” the Tiefling was relaxed and hoped that Heidi would feel this way too.

The two Padawans would continue walking until they got in front of a square. There were several vehicles surrounding it and a crowd had formed here. Aranmir turned to Heidi. “What do you think if we start looking at it?
