That morning-
Ra's return to society had been a sudden choice on her part. She had left behind the ship she had a part of for the past couple of years and actually missed that small family. However, the two of them had left on good terms and if she or they needed anything, they could get in touch.

When Ra had gone to bed the night before, she had felt fine. However, as she slept, nightmares filled her sleep. Nothing coherent involved, but the sounds of fighting and death. It was not a good night for her and she woke up several times. The last thing she remembered before jolting out of bed wide awake was the old man that had been the captain of the vessel and crew being mortally wounded.

Her comm unit was also blinking that a message was waiting for her. The message was from one of the crewmen from her ship. He knew they had dropped her off when she left them and wanted to meet with her later that day. She looked at the time, hopped into the shower and got dressed for the day. When it was the appointed time, Ra left her room and went to the spaceport to meet her friend.

He was outside waiting and looked like he's been in a fight. Remembering her dream from the night before, she grew pale and rushed to her former companion. Taking his hands into hers and looking up at him.

"What happened Viz?"

"Follow me."

He turned back into the spaceport and walked with a singleminded purpose. Viz took her into a hanger and their old ship was there. It looked like it had seen better days and had barely made it there. He handed her a holodisk.

"That says it all, my friend. Look at it in your own time and that is now yours."

He tipped his head to the ship, placed a hand on her shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze.

"I am off to make my own future and you should do the same."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Later that day-
It was early evening and Ra had watched what was on the holodisk that afternoon and felt that another part of her life was over. The family that had adopted her and taken in were all dead except for Viz and even he had left her.

There was nobody in her life anymore, a void that had been filled with her crewmates was now empty. She sat alone at a bar, staring blankly into her drink. The glass was half empty and taking a drink from it, she ordered another. Her back was to the room, so lost in her own woes to pay attention to the people coming and going around her.

Maw'doc had arrived here Ima filthy Cargo ship were he has been mugged three times. Those muggers are now in mental hospitals. As far as maw'doc's moods go he was ina bad one. When he got off the ship he began his search for the women called Ra. He first walked around the space port but all he found were u pure space smuggalers and bounty hunters. He then looked in all the housing area outside the spaceport but found nothing. He decided to check the cantinas. After hours of searching he found her slumped at the bar drinking away. He could tell by her body language that she was in a less then happy mood. Maw'doc pondered for a second wether doing this would be a good idea. He decided to go through with it and walked upto the women. "Hello may I speak to you. In privet please" maw'doc said in a flat tone. As he spoke he attempted to look into her eyes...

Before her next drink could arrive, a man approached her and requested to speak with her and in private. Ra was not a trusting person and while his words were polite, they were spoken without much emotion.

She did not look up at him when he spoke and since he was standing, when she did glance over her eyes were more level with his sternum.

Already having had a drink previously to the one currently sitting on the counter, Ra was feeling a little tipsy. It also made her a little more open.

"We can speak, but before we get to anything private, I want to get to know you."

Somebody approaching her had not been anticipated and while she wasn't opposed to a night of fun, it wasn't her thing to do that normally.

"So pull of a chair and join me."

Maw'doc compiled with her first request and sat down next to her as for her second request he was considering wether to tell her enething. He decided that if she was unpure he would know when he juged her and if she was pure his words would be safe with her. "My name is maw'doc and I have come here to judge you. I have heard of your exploits and how you are nether Jedi nore sith. I will either judge you here witch would not be plesent or we can do it in privet, it's your choice." As maw'doc continued to speak in his flat tone he looked into her eyes and found great sorrow their. Maw'doc hoped that she would be pure and that at last he could trust somone in this galaxy of puppets and monsters.

The man sat down next to her and introduced himself. His name was Maw'doc and he was here to judge her. Her life prior had been simple and she been with her mother for much of it. After her mother died, she had taken up with her family of entrepreneurs and even now they were mostly dead. The captain having given Ra their ship since all the others were dead and Viz had wanted out of the business.

Her third drink arrived and she finished off the one in front of her, she turned to finally look at the man next to her. His words penetrating her drink clouded mind. What exploits was he talking about? Could he me talking about the ones from Empress Teta? The people there had chased her off under penalty of death if she returned when their president had died. Ra had nothing to do with it, but since she had been very close to him they thought she had assassinated him.

"You want a drink?"

His voice was still flat to her ears, but they relieved one persistent question that had been plaguing her since he had approached. He wasn't looking to get her into bed.

"Nice to meet you, Maw'doc."

Her silver eyes took a moment to look him over again, never staying in one place for too long or looking him directly in the eyes.

Maw'doc noticed that she was trying not to look into his eyes, but thought nothing of it. As another drink arrived and she downed it all in a shingle attempted he begane to ready himself mentally for judging her. He thought wether it would be wise to attempted to judge her and what to do if she said no. He decided that he had come all this way he would not leave without knowing if she is pure or unpure. Hr asked her in a even more monotone and emotionless voice then before "Would you like to be judge here or in privet". He began to prob her mind not in a invasive way this probing was barly noticeable but he did it never the less to see how strong her mental barriers were... as he did this his eyes seemed to turn a deeper shade of red almost as if they were becoming flames and he tryed his hardest to make direct eye contact with her.

This man was persistent, Ra had to give him credit for that. With her last drink down, she paid the credits for her drinks and stood up. It almost appeared that she was testing his patience and while her mental barriers might be weaker due to the drink and she didn't feel him probing at them, he would not easily break through. She kept her own emotions locked away so tightly all he would sense was the outward loss she currently expressed.

"If I am going to be judged, it's going to be on my grounds, my home, my territory."

Her voice was warm, but the words short and to the point. Right now there was not a mean bone in her body...if her body even had bones at this point. She started to fall over from the drink and caught herself on the table before fell down.

"A breath of fresh air will clear my head."

The women was clearly having trouble walking due to the amount of who knows what she had drank. She began to walk outside and Maw'doc followed closely behind her. She seemed to be ok with getting judged maw'doc thought. As they walked outside the cantina maw'doc began to become impatient and he thought about attempting to judge her right there and then since no one was around but he decided he should ask her first. He stopped walking and said In a cold and unforgiving tone "No one is around their is no need to prolong it I am going to judge you now you can either accept it or resist but no more stalling like somone who has some thing to hide" as he spoke his eyes became akin to fire and he prepared a immence mental assult to judge her with.

Ra stopped in her steps as Maw'doc spoke and turned around. It was a little difficult focus, but she did her best. He was clearly impatient to get to the judging of her and they were alone on the street. She let out a sigh and pointed to a building across the street that looked like apartments.

"My place is right there. As I said, if I'm going to be judged for something, it's going to be on my grounds. I have nothing to hide, but want to be comfortable while you question me."

She assumed his judging would consist of him asking questions and her answering them. However, a feeling rose within her that this man had other plans. However, not in any condition to prevent him doing anything really, she started walking away.

If he followed her, she would lead him inside the apartments, up some stairs to the third floor, through a locked security door and the hallway leading to what she currently called home.

Maw'doc found it amusing that she thought that questions could ever judge ones true character. He whatnrd to let her goto her hotel but the torrent of mental force engery was growing too strong to hold back and he needed to unleash it before it started to hurt him. As she walked away he smailed sadly *at lest I gave her a chance he thought*. Then he unleashed his torrent of mental force energy and attempted to smash through her mental barriers and find her true soul and personality bye tearing through her mind and putting it back together. To aid in breaking her mental barriers he also attempted to send in images of sorrow, pain and regret. Her mental barriers were formidable especially strong at her true personality. He hoped with all his being that she would be pure but he had doubts.

Almost as soon as she turned her back and started walking, Ra felt his mental attack begin. She took two more steps before his assault started breaking through natural defenses. She raised a hand to her head and stopped walking. It felt as if she was waking up the night after drinking instead of just having left the cantina. Her breath came out faster and she stumbled to a stop, leaning against the wall. He didn't stop there, he had disabled and not able to prevent his further attack.

She already felt enough of her own sorrow and loss of her ship family, that when Maw'doc sent that image to her, it filled her again. He was through what shreds of defense her mind had.

He would see the life she had growing up and the neutral teachings her mother had passed on, the short amount of time she spent alone on Tython and then as an advisor for the president of Empress Teta. How she manipulated people in power and how in the end that burned her and caused her run for her life from that planet. He would also see she had nothing to do with his death and that the accusations against her were false. If he probed deeper, he would see she was not evil, but was maybe a little selfish. He would see she had a great amount of honor and would never break her word once she gave it. She has a great love for children and would never harm one on purpose. Even deeper was the fact Ra felt so very alone in the galaxy since her mother died.

Maw'doc found it easy to break through the women's mental barriers and dove into her mind. What he found made him smile in a relived way. She was good and evil. She manipulated people but she also cared for people. He also found great sorrow in her and regretted sending the images into her mind, He stopped sending images and replaced them with a emotional solace. He also found that she felt alone in the galaxy. He could not find the source of theses feelings at first and he sought far in her mind for it. He found it hidden in a dark place that was filled with sorrow. She had trusted someone deeply and shred her soul with them. As he looked deeper he found that this person had been killed and all that was left after this was the profound loneliness. It did not take him long to find his vertic.... She was pure not too dark but she still had enough emotion not to be a pawn. For the first time in months he was happy. He withdrew from her mind and said in a warm tone "You are pure.I am deeply sorry for the sorrow you feel now i can understand if you hate me but if you don't i would be happy to be your friend."

As Maw'doc pawed through her mind, searching her for...she didn't know what, he changed his projection from sorrow to that of comfort. He attempted to sooth over her emotional wounds. After what felt like an eternity, he withdrew his mind from hers and passed his verdict to her.

When his presence left, she felt alone again, like she had when her mother died and how she felt earlier but to a lesser extent. Ra wanted to roll up into a fetal ball and cry, but instead just clutched at both her stomach and her head. Looking at the man that just judged her with narrowed eyes, she went to speak and ended up emptying the contents of her stomach. She wiped her mouth, stood up as straight as she could and looked at him square on now.

"I told you my place was right over there. Don't do that again."

Hate was such a strong a emotion, the opposite of love and one Ra was not entirely familiar with.

"C'mon. Let me get cleaned up and we can talk."

Now, if he would follow her, she would lead up into the building, up the stairs and into her apartment. It was still rather bare of anything extra, but contained a couch and two tables, a lamp on one of them and a holovid in the main room. The kitchen had a table for two with chairs and he would see that the kitchen was well used and probably her favorite room. A short hallway lead to the refresher and her bedroom that was around the corner.

"Please excuse me. Make yourself comfortable."

Maw'doc was happy that the women did not out right hate him for judging her. She began to walk up to the apartment and he followed. They arrived in a normal somewhat bland apartment and she asked him to sit down. He sat down in one of the kitchen chairs because it seemed to be her favorite room. When he sat down he once again thought about the results of the judgment and he was debating whether to ask her who had died and attempted to comfort her. His power only reviled the persons true personality and why it was caused but in in great detail. He was not the best in a conversation. He dues not add fluff to conversations so most of what he says to people comes out blunt and cold. After mentally debating with himself he deiced that he would ask. He said in a warm compassionate voice "Who was it that died and left you alone?" He hoped that the question would not upset her. As he spoke he tried to look directly into her eyes and the fire that was in his eyes before the judgment was gone replaced by a warm red glow.

Ra did not take long at cleaning herself up, but when she returned, she was wearing different clothes. Her blouse now a dark reddish brown and a copper skirt, her hair was also down to let it dry easier after her quick shower. She felt much more human now and her head was done hurting from the not so gentle probe he had administered not even an hour ago. However, the drunken buzz she had been trying to get earlier was also gone. Probably for the better though now that she thought about it.

"I'm sorry, I never offered you something to drink. Would you like something?"

She always tried to be polite to people and was rather upset with herself for overlooking this small thing and maybe her cheeks turned a slight shade of pink. Getting herself some water, she would also get Maw'doc something if he said yes.

As Ra was getting her water, he asked who had died and left her alone. Did he mean the recent loss of her crewmen or her mother? Maybe both, she didn't know what all he had seen in her mind. Joining him at the table, she looked at him. His demeanor had changed and what had been fiery eyes earlier were now a warm red of his race. His voice also now contained emotion instead of the flat tone he had first used.

"My mother was my first and biggest loss and then just today I learned that the people I called family have all been killed but one and he left me as well."

Shrugging her shoulders slightly, her fought away the tears that were begging to be released."

"No thank you" Maw'doc said when she offered him a drink. He noticed that she was wearing different clothing but Maw'doc did not think much of it. He also noticed that she did not seem drunk any longer. When he asked his question she seemed to think about how to respond. For a second Maw'doc was afraid he had offended her but them she told him about her loss and why she was alone. Hearing her tail Maw'doc was saddened but not surprised when people feel sorrow at there core something horrible must have happened. He surprised that the person that was generating all her sorrow as her mother. He was even more surprised that he had not found more sorrow related to her crew in her mind. He noticed that she was holding back tears. He thought about how to comfort her and decided to help her even if it was for a second. Maw'doc sent images into her mind of love, family, life and hope,he hoped that it would bring her some solace. "I am very sorry to hear of your losses if you need help with anything just ask i am at your service. The worst part is that the last member of your family left you, he is most likely unpure" Maw'doc said as he continued to send the positive images into her mind, but he was tiring and he would need to stop soon.

Ra had made it through her mother's death alone and had stayed on Tython until she felt ready to move on. She couldn't do that now though. A new life was in front of her. When Maw'doc sent the images of love, family, life and hope, she didn't know how to respond. He then offered his sympathy at her losses, offered any help he could give and then his last words hurt her a little. She narrowed her eyes slightly, this man had seen into the core of her. Felt or knew what was inside of her mind.

"I'm not clear on what you were looking for."

She tapped a finger on her head and took a drink after before speaking again.

"My friend was getting old and had a family he wanted to return to spend what days he has left with them. The unpure ones were the pirates that killed that crew. My friend was the only one that escaped and though that ship should have been his, he wanted out and to go home. That ship is now mine, but it needs work to get back into shape. Do you by chance know about repairing ships?"

The sudden turn of conversation took her mind off her losses and while there was still some sorrow left, it wasn't overwhelming or so powerful anymore.

Maw'doc had clearly offended her with his last comment. He was also getting very tired so he stopped sending the images into the women's mind. He thought about what to say to make her less upset. He deiced since she was pure he could tell her how his judgement works. "I am sorry i offended you when i look into your mind all i can see is your true inner most personality and hazy i can see what influences it. That is why i only know you trust someone and they died but i did not know who it was. It is the same reason i did not know your friends were killed by pirates the most unpure spacer. Again i am sorry" Maw'doc spoke in a hushed tone and when he said the word pirate with a small amount of malice.

"My mother died almost seven maybe even eight years ago. The pirate attack on my crewmates, I only learned about today. That's why I was in the cantina. To try and escape my losses and drink the emotions away."

He explained to Ra how his ability worked and what he could or couldn't see. She looked between him and glass of water before asking her question.

"What did you see in me then to make me pure?"

Though she was very interested in the answer, she attempted to make less of her concern apparent and when she finished shrugged her shoulders slightly.

Maw'doc thought about her request to know why she was pure. She did not seem to care much but maw'doc saw no reason to withhold his reasoning. "You are pure because you do not let anger and malice consume you, yet you are not a emotionless vessel such as the Jedi. You also do not kill for the sake of killing. You are a valve between light and darkness" as maw'doc spoke he seemed almost ecstatic. When he had finished speaking he thought about what the women had said earlier about drinking her sorrows away. He had never thought about doing it but he always marveled about how it appealed to other beings. He thought about asking why she would not seek out the last member of her family but based on how she reacted last time he brought it up he decided agenst it. He still had one question though. "What are you going to do now?" Maw'doc asked in a inquisitive tone.
