At the current time, I am considering making the following subfactions:
-the actual Knights themselves
-Imperial Guard
*Navy will be bunched in here
-Intelligence Network; name to be decided
-SIN: Syndicated Independent Network (mercenary work for Indie characters)
-the Dalit (DS users)

Sorry to step in, but I want to give you the same advice I had previously given to Radzkie and Mars about sub-factions: don't do it until you've actually built up your main ranks. If the core of the faction isn't built up well yet, I don't think you're ready for a sub-faction.

Good point. Knights and Guard need to be the focus, though I may soon add in SIN, as that works with non-IK members.

Just make sure you have the core of the faction built up, otherwise the sub-factions replace what should be the main part of the faction as the new main part of the faction.

Might I suggest these subfactions are... invite only at this time? As in, only members suitable to joining them can join, and applicants must apply to the Guard or Knights and build up their characters IC'ly?

Actually, I'd go with what Bac said. Just stick to building up the Imp Knight's ranks at this time. The IK shouldn't need a intel division, either; the IK themselves should be capable of operating in that capacity.

Indeed.

Also, when you say "DS users," do you mean dark side users? If so, that doesn't make any sense in terms of the Imperial Knights. They're not dark siders and always fought against the dark side.

It's something we're considering, but haven't decided on, is a group called the Dalit. Basically, they purposely use Dark Side as a tool, but are closely watched to prevent themselves from being corrupted too much by the Dark Side. It came with the suggestion of "fighting fire with fire". Still, you do have a point. I'll talk with Xyrael about it.

The Imperial Knights would know that you can't really use the dark side just a little bit. Once you start to use it, it starts corrupting you. As one old Jedi said, once you start down the dark path it forever dominates your destiny.

Imperial knights detest the sith and the darkside.

Wouldn't really work.

Besides as Bac said, you can't really dip into the dark side without losing yourself to it,

I thought the IK were vehemently opposed to the Dark Side. Using it, even just a tad bit, kind of spits in the face of their very reason for being.

The fact that they fight for an Empire which is already ruled by the Sith sort of undermines what they fight for. They're a guerrilla faction, and desperate times call for desperate measures. What's more, I've always considered the Imperial Knights to detest ritual and superstition, evident in the fact that they do not meditate when making crystals, and care less about Force philosophy. That said, it's not necessary to have DS users, so that's fine I think.
