The Senator sat alone in her barely patched-up office, small particles of glass still eluded all but the best cleaning efforts under where the window had previously been blown in. The darkened room perfectly elicited the feelings that were presently dwelling within the tumultuous and vulnerable woman. It was hard to believe that only a short time ago she had been perfectly happy rustling a hard-earned living with her parents in the family business before she had become taken up with the idea of greater service.

She couldn't even remember where or how the idea had struck her, but since that moment she had become driven to work towards a civic career in the hopes of making a lasting change on the galaxy. A change-up from manual labour to an office job had been somewhat difficult to adjust for her but in time and with great staff, she had been able to get the hang of things. What had proven to be much harder for her was the lonely nights and long hours working away from both her family and friends.

Victoria struggled to remember the last time that she had been able to enjoy a casual, fun day off. Perhaps even as far back as the wine tasting that they had done on Trenwyth with two very different ladies. (@LadyRen) (@lizziie) Though initially forming just a professional relationship with the pair, the shared trauma of Ruusan and the galactic senate had forged a close bond between herself and Celeste. Oh god, Celeste. It had been eons since they last spoke, and a painful feeling deep down in her stomach squeezed leaving her uncomfortable.

The last time they had spoken was months ago, and although she had tried to text her once or twice she hadn't received any news about her or the baby she had been carrying the last time they spoke. Victoria felt like a terrible friend, Celeste had been through so much worse than she had and where had Vic been? hiding on Gannaria while her friend was who knows where?

Bursting into tears, Victoria pulled her knees up to her face to bawl into a fully-fledged breakdown properly. What if something happened and I wasn't there to help? Or worse, what if Celeste had tried to reach out and she'd been too preoccupied with work and missed it? No wonder her friend had disappeared if that's what had occurred.

Senator of Gannaria, what a joke. How could she hope to govern and lead a people against the treacherous evils of a Sith Empire if she couldn't even manage to take care of her friends and the local city? Without the Jedi's help, she probably would have been thrown out of office by now. A blackened ball of despair pooled deep down within her, tugging at her insecurities and doubts like a black hole.

Even when the senators attempted to find a common solution against the Sith, a bright spark of hope had been quickly snuffed out as the main contact within the NR had suddenly gone quiet and with it, another chess piece came off the board. Victoria wasn't in the right frame of mind to understand the politics in play over there but it just further cemented the seed of doubt within her mind. (@Sreeya)

What if everyone else was just playing along nicely, hoping that she'd figure out just how out of place she was and leave? Maybe someone older with more experience was needed, a firmer hand in these times of strife and conflict. Victoria fumbled around with her Nalphone in between bursts of tears and anguish, trying to dial a number, half hoping nobody would answer but desperately needing it all the same.

A quiet and familiar older male voice picked up the call, causing her to sob loudly into the phone. "Daddy...I'm coming home to visit, I need some time to think."
