Ziost was an awful planet and Raslekx decided he was not coming back here for 'fun' ever again. Ever since his last class as an acolyte he was tring to get a better grasp on emotion and letting them flow lightly instead of keeping them locked up in their entirety. It would seem that going to the extreme and keeping them locked away or letting them all flow was so much easy then letting just a bit flow through your body.

This today was an experiment. Mira had always gotten a sense of fun from fighting an opponent on the same level as herself. Fun seemed like an emotion easily controlled and so experimenting with its property should be easier then anger or hatred.

Of course this meeting with Rook was not a random pick of who to fight. He had apparently been another apprentice of Mira. Almost ironic really, it had been the same day that Ras had met the wookie on Corusant and become Mira's apprentice. The two former apprentices would probably have had many of the same lessons and the same attitude adopted, thus making Rook a formidable opponent.

The arrangement had been made some time ago. Ras had sent him a message to meet him on Ziost in Training room 207. Of course he had picked a random number and hoped it would suit the needs and it did. It was a fairly large room with high ceilings. They would have room for jumps and not be restricted in saber combat. While waiting Ras examined his silver bladed saber Master Xanthus had given him. He would use it here. Maybe the new colour would give the wookie something to wonder about.

Ziost. Bitter cold was a shock to the system for someone that had grown up in a jungle, and then moved to a desert world. Wind blew bitingly cold across the landing platform, blasting flecks of snow and ice into his face, each hit a tiny cold sting on his nose and eyes. Rook understood that the walk to the door was meant to not coddle the students of the academy here, but truthfully he wished that Ziost had a sheltered docking port. By the time he got to the door, he had decided that if there was one thing he hated more than Jedi, it was the freezing cold. Perhaps that was why Ziost boasted the lowest number of students of the main academies. Ziost had been Raslekx's idea, of course. Rook hadn't seen the Arkanian in quite some time. From what he read on the Sith intranet, Raslekx had been promoted to Crusader around the same time Rook had.

As Rook made his way through the halls, a section of wall under repair caught his eye. The sheer weight of ice and snow had caused a section to collapse, and maintenance droids were tasked with the repair. It seemed they cleaned up well enough, though there was still a cart filled with loose bits of rubble and rebar. Rook smiled to himself and drew the cart over to him through the force. Why not?

The contents of the cart ended up being dumped on the floor of the training room when he entered. "Raslekx. Been a while. I saw this junk and thought of how actual battlefields are rarely as sterile of obstacles and debris as the training rooms here. So I figured why not bring it with." He studied the Arkanian, sizing him up, seeing if there was anything noticeably different since the last time they met.

"Ahh welcome, it has been a very long time." Looking at the wookie he saw the junk he brought with him, it matched the color and texture of the walls in most of the academy. If it was part of the wall, the Arkanian didn't want to know how or where he got it. With the wookies greeting and explanation it was understandable why he brought it. A more realistic battlefield wouldn't hurt.

Not being one for pleasantries Ras turned his silver bladed weapon and turned it to training mode, then too out one of his classic green and black blades and did the same. When finished he activated them, looked at Rook and charged. not moving at all until he was in striking distance Ras moved to slash his opponents mid torso with his right handed saber and a moment after used his left handed saber to cut from the left shoulder down to his right waist. Hopefully he would be ready to block in time. If not there would be pain for him right off the start.

So Raslekx had obtained a new saber. From who or how didn't matter right now, such a question was pointless in battle. He glanced over to the pile of rubble scattered a few feet away to make sure he hadn't misplaced one of the pieces that caught his eye when bringing the cart to the room. His own smoke-gray blade snapped to life as Rook turned and sidestepped Raslekx's attack so his right side would be facing the Arkanian. At the same time, he drew upon the force and called a three foot long piece of rebar, one end still stuck in a hunk of duracrete, to his left hand. Rook saw the scissoring attack and bolstered his speed through the force, hopping backwards out of the way just enough before moving in close as Raslekx's blades crossed over each other and pressed his own blade vertically into the gap against the two lightsabers to prevent Ras from counter-attacking by doing the reverse of what he had just done.

The rebar resembled a crude mace, and Rook would use it as such. Though force weapon was a draining technique, it was still highly useful, and Rook felt it appropriate when facing an opponent utilizing two lightsabers. He let the force rush through his arm and into the makeshift weapon as if it was an extension of himself, protecting the broken metal and duracrete from the destructive effects of a lightsaber. He swung it in an uppercut to strike at Ras's right hip. While it was by no means a precise weapon, it was a relatively heavy one, and would have some serious momentum behind it with a wookiee's strength.

The counter was clever. Instead of a quick block the wookiee stopped both lightsabers using his own to make sure he couldn't undo the attack. Of course he couldent slash back out but his arms where also now crossed and it was times like this he thanked Master Xanthus for the Lightsaber, having more then two made use so often. Ras dropped both sabers as the wookiee pulled a large piece from the rubble he had brought with him. He hen pulled the third saber from his belt into his right hand. Remembering that Rook had been in the force weapon class with that fish, he assumed it would be used. Ras also knew it was draining not something to use lightly.

With the rubble incoming the Arkanian jumped backwards letting it fly past where he had been. It was heavy and his opponent had used a lot of force, it would no doubt fly past and getting it back under control wouldn't be easy, even for something with such strength like a wookiee. The window would be small so wasting no time Ras charged the wookie again charging his left hand with heat and this time with only a single saber. It would move fast crossing Ras's body from his right hand and slicing from the left to right (Rooks right to left) The saber was only to play. Not a distraction per say, his opponent was to smart for that. It was more to just get his hands full, as while he was blocking that he would have grown the heat into a small flame and attempt to put his hand on the wookiee's neck. Of course on any normal opponent it would be pointless clothing or armour would block any heat but the wookiee was covered in fur and fur was always flammable.

The momentum of the crude mace could be stopped of course, the easiest way would be through gravity. Rook turned with the momentum of the attack, allowing the rebar to finish it's arc above Rook's head as Raslekx disengaged for a moment while he drew a third lightsaber after discarding the previous pair. It was likely the quickest way to get out of the saber lock. Since Rook had turned, his left was now facing Ras, a slight disadvantage since his saber arm was further away. As heat waves shimmered around the Arkanian's hand, Rook knew he had to act as he rather enjoyed having a coat of fur. He plunged his lightsaber at a downward angle to block the attack that would have hit him in the chest. Ras drew nearer still now, becoming quite clear that physical contact and torching Rook's fur was the idea. Rook growled lowly, not pleased at the vindictiveness of the attack. He could dance away again, but they were acolytes no more, and Rook had a second weapon still.

As Raslekx had decided to rush in to try and take advantage of Rook trying to slow the rebar down, he left himself open to attack, especially as he was reaching in for physical contact. Rook started to turn to face Raslekx again, keeping pressure against the third lightsaber, and brought the improvised mace down towards Ras's right shoulder, and as the momentum of his turn brought his right leg around, he carried it over in a kick at Ras's groin.

Rook seemed to not be happy with the attempted singe of the fur. The angry growl was clear. Rook finally used his Lightsaber to block his own and before the singeing could start the mace was coming back down towards Ras's open side. He was not going to keep up the jumping back and then rushing back in. Unfortunately a small back up was needed right now. Abandoning the singeing attack Ras pushed with his saber hand for moment backwards and gave a small jump. The mace would come down only a couple feet in front of the Arkanian and when it passed his face is when Ras would move back on the offensive.

Activating grabbing one of his lost lightsabers Ras threw it quickly at the wookiee's chest. Then having the other flying into his hand he moved back towards Rook, only this time he held his left handed saber horizontally in front of him, and used his right handed saber to stab slightly underneath the other. The left handed saber was in a position it could easily be used to move into a slashing motion if needed and it blocked the stabbing saber from any easy knocking out of the way.

Ras jumped back, but Rook kept coming, already moving forward since he was originally going to kick Raslekx. The dark side fueled his desire to dominate his opponent, and he would no longer give the Arkanian time to rally. In one motion as Ras reached for the lightsaber he was going to throw, Rook's lightsaber darted down to greet it, burning Ras's hand. At the same time he brought his club up in a defensive position, ready to intercept the other lightsaber if Ras countered. Still moving, and drawing in closer to Ras as it was quicker to continue a forward motion than to arrest forward momentum and jump backwards, Rook turned slightly and swung out his hip to catch Ras in a vicious hip check, sending the Arakanian tumbling hard. Rook watched as Ras got up slowly, rubbing his hand. He nodded to Rook in defeat and deactivated his saber.
