Dasi wasn't just in awe anymore, she was overwhelmed. After her mission with Jedi Knight Nykoria Tallis she had returned to Corellia only to learn that the Watchman she had been assigned to was off somewhere else. She had been given simple instructions, sit tight and stay out of trouble. It was kind of hard to follow the stay out of trouble bit. Approaching the planet on a shuttle had been an almost euphoric experience for her. She had never sensed so many people on one planet let alone in one small city. As the shuttle entered the atmosphere the Padawan felt her head spinning trying to keep her mind straight. How could so many people live here? None the less she was impressed.

As the shuttle landed at Coronet City the young Togruta grabbed her pack and slung it. She wasn't dressed like a Jedi today, she was dressed in simple clothing that gave no hint to her profession and would have made her fit in perfectly on her homeworld. If no one was expecting her to be here she was going to be dressed comfortably, not wearing those stupid robes that the Jedi had provided. Her lightsaber was stashed in the pack slung across her shoulder, she didn't anticipate trouble here. This was a fairly well populated planet with actual law enforcement, what kind of trouble could she possibly get in here?

The young Padawan stepped through customs, showing an officer her ID which got her waved through without incident. As she stepped out onto the streets of Coronet City she shuddered as a gust of wind seemed to bypass whatever she was wearing. Somehow despite being nearly afternoon on the world it was still incredibly chilly. She now had regrets on her decision not to wear her robes. They would have fared far better in this kind of weather. She sighed as she pulled her datapad out of her pocket. The sooner she got the address and set off for where she was expected to stay the night the better. She rubbed her hands together to try and extract some warmth as she made her way through the streets. Maybe she should pull her robes out of her pack.

Nearly half an hour later Dasi was entirely sure she was lost. The datapad she was using to help herself navigate the cramped streets of the city had apparently been on low charge because it had given up about five minutes into her walk. She now had her arms crossed rubbing her arms to try and conserve whatever body heat she had left. It was time to ask for help. She still found it hard to try and narrow her focus with so many people around, to many emotions in such a tight space, but she could still "see" in her mind around her. The streets were almost empty, just a small group and someone further down the street. Approaching the group of five people the young Togruta relied on the cold to help her get over her usual shyness. "Hello? I'm sorry to bother you but I'm looking for the Sector Ranger Outpost, would you happen to know how to get there?" The people she had approached, three humans and two Zabrak, stared down the young Padawan before looking at each other and laughing. One of the Zabrak gave a hand signal to the others to shut up before speaking. "Ya know, not entirely sure off of the top of my head. Why don't you step into our little establishment though, we can look it up, you can grab something to drink and warm yourself up before you go on your way." He opened a door and motioned for her to step through. Through the open door she could hear the sounds yelling and fighting? She could also swear she smelled alcohol. A cantina? She hesitated just the tiniest amount. "I'm not entirely sure I should..." As soon as she said that she could feel the warm air flowing through the doorway and settled her mind.

She stepped through the entrance and reveled in the warmth that came. She could definitely smell spilt ale and... vomit? She nearly gagged as that hit her. She changed her mind about the drink. "Nothing to drink though. I should really hurry, I should have checked in a while ago." She looked around in the force as something in the force seemed off. A bar of some sorts alright, but something was off. The force provided her another warning and she shifted to see the Zabrak swinging something at her. She cocked her head to the side and tried to duck but still took a glancing blow that sent her into the wall. Luckily her montrals absorbed most of the impact but she still winced as the back of her skull hit it. She slid to the ground as she reached out her hand in retaliation, sending on of the humans at the back of the group flying through the open door and into the street. Realizing their mistake the group started scrambling to get away. Dasi had no interest in fighting, preferring to nurse her new pounding headache. She reached for her pack, and sat shocked. Her pack was missing.

On his way home, a bag with groceries hanging from his hand. But, something was odd. On Corellia, something was always happening, pickpockets, bag slicers or tricksters of various degrees. Yet this, this was special. While he walked down an alley to his little apartment, some boy was literally flying out of some sleazy corner canteen. Surprised he put down the bag of edibles, wanting to help the boy, but he got to his feet, and began to ran off into an ally. mere seconds after, a number of others left the canteen, dispersing into all directions, one having his backpack in his hands rather then wearing it properly. They clearly broke away in haste.

He had recognised one face, that of a younger Zabrak boy. He was a bit infamous in the neighbourhood, always getting into fights, and constantly making trouble with his friends. These lot sadly never seemed to be up for some good. With a few steps he entered the canteen, it couldn't be a bad idea to find out whom had scared them off. Probably the owner or some angered guest.

Yet when he looked inside, he found the unexpected. Sitting there on the floor was a young Torguta, her eyes wide open in terror, breathing heavily.

With two big steps he was by her side, kneeling down besides her. "Hey, is everything alright? Did these delinquents do anything to you?" She seemed a bit roughed up, nothing to bad. But his mind, maybe due to all the bad cases he already had, raced around the awful things young girls could befall when alone in these parts of town. She clearly wasn't from here, that much he could see by her clothing.

Dasi was struggling to keep focus now. The young Padawan reached behind her skull where she could feel blood flowing from an open wound when a rather tall human barged in. She was struggling to sense any motive from the human and was ready to introduce him to the same technique that she had used earlier but she was struggling to reach out to the force. By the force her head hurt. She was rather surprised when he knelt down to help her. "I'm alright. I think they stole my pack though." She replied to his concerned voice. She forced herself to her feet and tried to expand her awareness but she the throbbing in her skull was making it hard. She had to get her lightsaber. "Which way did they go? My lightsaber was in that pack. I need to get it back."

She barely even waited for the concerned citizen to even answer before she was running off. She took the corner at the door hard grabbing the edge of the doorway to give her a grip to avoid sliding out. The cold of the outdoors helped shock her back to reality and she finally sensed the familiar presence of her lightsaber. Everything else was still hazy but she began to run full tilt using the familiar presence as a guide. She didn't bother to look back, she wasn't expecting a random citizen to try and help her, and from what she had been told "Jedi Business" was keyword for go away while the Jedi deals with the problem.

She turned around one more corner where she found her pack on the ground, contents strewn about. No lightsaber however. That wasn't good. She couldn't afford to worry about the rest of the contents in her pack and she reached out to find that familiar presence. There! Just around the next corner. She grabbed the utility belt from the ground and wrapped it around her waist as she ran. That lightsaber was never going to leave her belt again once she got it back. The Togruta turned another corner into a dead end where she found the five talking to another. She could sense one of them showing him her lightsaber when they all turned to her. Some of them pulling out blasters.
"Oh no." She ducked back around the corner as a blaster bolt passed through where she was standing. This was going to be a long day.

As she darted off, he had little time to process what exactly she had been shouting at him. But running after her, he formed a bit of a picture. The girl, apparently, was a Jedi. If she was a Sith, then she would probably not end up with a stolen Lightsaber. Her being Force adept also explained the first boys plight, but good riddance. It was merely just that the girl they had taken in for god knows what could fight back.

Trying to keep pace with the much smaller girl, he had difficulty understanding how she ran so fast, and how she knew the direction, but he wrote it of as a Jedi thing. Remembering his own training with a Jedi, he knew they were capable of much. As they passed the backpack, lying on the floor, she merely glanced over it, but left it lying. He snatched it up as he ran bye, seeing nothing of worth lying besides it. She would probably need this thing later on.

As he turned the last corner, she was stepping towards him, hurriedly evading sight from an allyway. Only a fraction of a second later, a laser bolt hit the corner where she had stood.

Now the time for games was over, and there was no way the shooter could defend his stance in any way, this was attempted murder. Letting go off the backpack, he moved to the alley, pulling his own pistol from under his jacket, and taking it firmly into both hands. This was the neighbourhood he was raised in, and if these troublemakers did not break into any homes, there was nowhere for them to go from here. So confident that they could not escape unnoticed, he raised his voice: "Sector rangers. We have you trapped in this alley!" he looked over to the Jedi, wondering if she would be of any help without a weapon. coming to a quick conclusion, he pulled out his vibroknife, and offered it to her.

"Lay down your blasters and surrender the stolen goods, and this whole thing will be over without anyone getting hurt!" whether they knew him or not, he was unsure. They had passed him earlier, and at least the Zabrak should know his voice.

Dasi leaned against the wall she was using for cover and muttered to herself. "Its okay Dasi, this is just the first time you've been shot at, it could always be worse, they could have hit you. We just need to come up with a plan to get the lightsaber back." The young Padawan noticed the concerned citizen she had left was now standing next to her hiding spot and more specifically noticed he was holding a blaster now as well. She was almost ready to send him flying when he shouted that he was a Sector Ranger. "Oh great! You're a Sector Ranger. These men stole my lightsaber. I need to get it back." She noticed that he was trying to offer her a vibroknife and she shook her head. "I don't really know how to use that in a fight. I still have the force anyways." At least she thought she still had the force. The adrenaline rush she had received from being shot at had managed to push the last vestiges of her headache from her mind.

"I'm going to go to the other side of the street." She took a deep breath before she did what would hopefully not be her last moves. She jumped into open view of the thugs and rolled before jumping again to get to the other side of the alleyway. Blaster bolts peppered where she would have been and once on the other side the young Togruta patted down her body to make sure she hadn't been hit. Now the ranger could fire without her in the way. She just needed a plan. She peeked around the corner with the force and frowned. "The one with my lightsaber is trying to climb out!" She had the feeling that today was going to be a long day.

She peeked around the corner again and used the force to lift a rock before launching it towards one of the human thugs. He ducked beneath the makeshift projectile before retaliating at her. She was going to have to get closer if she wanted to be effective. She looked over at the ranger to see what his plan was.

Great, just great. Whilst she spoke her self aimed little motivational speech, he waited for an answer of the lot in the dead alley. When none came he feared for the worst. He couldn't really shoot without so much as provocation, and he knew exactly where these lot were aiming right now. Childish tricks were one thing, killing a ranger another. He really did not want to burden them with that.

He was about to act when the girl spoke again, apparently only now noticing him. He almost smirked, she truly was a bit lost in thought, but with something as essential as her lightsaber at stake, she was probably very distressed. When she tried to cross the street however, he wanted to hold her back. But once again, her inhumane speed surprised him, and he stood there, his arm starched after her as she rolled over the floor. But to her luck, the thugs were just as surprised apparently, as bolts hit the street all over the place, but the girl stayed unscathed.

This changed everything. Their apparent willingness to use lethal force gave him the right to do so equally, if required. But it would do no good to turn this into a shootout. But then some words fell that changed everything: "The one with my lightsaber is trying to climb out!"

Knowing that the roofs of these parts of the city were like a maze from back when he was a Precision Shooter in the Armed Forces, he knew that he could not let that boy run away, he could just hope that he would be faster. Nodding towards the Torgruta, he started to climb up the building before him, if necessary he would have to shoot him. He could not let a lightsaber loose onto the streets of Corellia. The boy would probably get himself killed trying to sell it anyways, these were no true gangsters, not yet.

Climbing up the decaying facade of the corner building, he became very much faster once he reached the first balcony, and could use a fire ladder. The block had three floors, and a flat roof. His pistol drawn he now crouched towards the edge of the roof, trying to keep most of himself hidden behind the ledge. Pistol ready, he observed the smaller roof before him, that the Zabrak just reached. He tried it peacefully one more time, hoping the Torgruta would cover the alley exit: "Freeze, stop this madness!"

This was a good plan, the Sector Ranger had a blaster and she imagined that he could outrun some ruffian. She on the other hand focused on the gang that was coming up around the corner. Perhaps they knew she was unarmed, unfortunately for them she still had the force. Dasi wasn't particularly experienced fighting without her lightsaber but luckily part of learning to fight with one still involved learning to take a punch and return one. She sprung into action as the first one rounded the corner blaster held out.

Her first step was to slap his blaster down just as he thought he had a shot on her. The unfortunate soul found himself pulling the trigger just as it became aligned with his foot. "Gah! You kriffing bitch!" The smell of ozone and burnt flesh filled the air as Dasi then pushed him back into his friends. She rushed out from behind cover now, two of the men were struggling with the weight of their screaming and now lamed friend. Dasi decided to focus on the other two who were bringing around makeshift implements to hit her with. She ducked the first swinging implement and moved very close in to the personal space of the attacker. She moved one arm to keep him from using the implement to swing again while her other moved to push on his chest. Her left foot moved behind his and she pushed hard on his chest, her opponent fell to the ground head first. The second of her focused opponents was rather confused as to how he was going to swing at her until his friend fell to the ground where he began swinging wildly at her.

She kept backing up to avoid his swings and soon his friends were moving behind her. They moved to grab her arms to pin her for their friend but she jumped back behind them. She wasn't entirely sure she could keep this up fighting the three, especially once one of them remembered the blaster sitting on the ground. She reached out into the force and used it to enhance a jump where she just barely managed to reach a gutter. As she pulled herself up it seemed someone had remembered the blaster and fired at her. Debris fell in her face as one of the bolts came closer then she would have liked. Once on her feet she began to start heading in the direction of the Sector Ranger, and hopefully her lightsaber.

The boy on the roof was in panic he struggled for his blaster, trying to get it out of his waistband, where he had quickly stashed it to climb. With a sigh Rand shot before the feet of the boy, and he saw how the panic in the eyes of the though, turned to panic, descending from his roof to the one of the ruffian, he kept his blaster in his direction. "Now hand it over, and this whole thing is over."

As the boy extended his arm he reached for it, but then something in the boys face changed, a last idea, and Rand had a feeling he would not like it. With a rather dreadful exclamation he jumped back, as the lightsaber jumped into action, with a newfound confidence on the boys face. Swinging it in his hands he seemed enamoured with his new toy, while Rand noticed to his shock, that his blaster had fallen to the ground when he rolled over the roof.

He was not the only one who noticed. The boy advanced with some rather crude swinging, allowing Rand to dodge the attack and slither back. The Zabrak glared at him. "Now, now. The mighty ranger. We still this from a kriffing Jedi. We won't let kriffing human take it."

Rand took a deep breath and reached for his knife as the boy lurched forward once more. Dodging sideways he pulled it, and slashed at the boys ankle. Surprised the Zabrak lost his balance and began to dive headfirst into the alley below. Collecting his blaster he looked over the edge, a frown on his face. He had never intended for this to happen. Down there the boy lay, motionless. He hoped that maybe he was not that, maybe he had survived, but he already knew that that was not true, and even if, who would pay his health bill. He noticed the Torguta in the alley as well. With a sigh he started to climb back down, hoping the innocent teen would take the scene well.

Dasi winced as she heard the familiar snap-hiss of a lightsaber being activated. It was sort of odd hearing her own lightsaber being turned on while it wasn't actually in her hands. She rushed quicker to catch up to the ranger and her lightsaber when she sensed the sudden fear in the Zabrak's mind. She could sense him falling and dived trying to catch him with the force. The sharp crack of his skull against pavement echoing through the alleyway told her the results. She rubbed her temples, this had not been her intent at all. She could sense her lightsaber at the bottom of the alley way and she reached out with the force to pull it back to her. She had just wanted the lightsaber back, she hadn't intended on killing anyone for it.

She took a deep breath and brought her attention back to the present. Make sure the ranger was okay. "I'm sorry about that. I didn't mean for you to get involved." As she got herself back on her feet she clipped the lightsaber onto her utility belt and turned to face the ranger. "My name is Padawan Dasi Vemm. Thank you for your assistance." She glanced again over the edge of the alley way looking at the unfortunate Zabrak. "Poor boy, he didn't deserve that. Not, that I'm implying its your fault. Sometimes unfortunate things happen even with the best of our ability."

Whimsical speaking aside, the young Togruta gave a bow to the ranger. "May I have my bag back? I believe my robes are in there and it is quite cold." She gave a forced smile to him, a rather poor attempt for her to break ice. She shuddered slightly as the wind seemed to want to make its presence known now that the adrenaline that had kept Dasi from feeling the cold was gone. "We should also probably get off of this roof top."

He nodded, and handed her the backpack. "It is a shame. For all their folly they are still just misguided youngsters. " After she had her pack, he took out his com link. He would have to explain this to the local authorities. And have them clean the alley. "But those who want lightsaber crystals or equally rare items won't shy from far cruder techniques to acquire them. At least the rest of the group is safe from them for now."

He turned towards the Padawan, answering her question. "Yes, down in the streets is probably the better option." This was also the chance to ask a question that had been on his mind the whole time. "If I may ask, what brings someone like you to these parts of Correlia? This just doesn't seem like it is your, well, turf at all."

He really did not want to be offending, he was just genuinely interested, and feared that something like this could happen again.

Dasi rummaged through what was still in her pack trying to find her robes. Of course those ruffians had ruined her very careful arrangement and she was struggling. She hoped it hadn't been one of the objects that had been strewn about in the streets. She finally reached the bottom of her pack and gave a shout of accomplishment as she pulled it out and put it on. That was far better.

The young Togruta nodded at the ranger's agreement of getting of the top of the roof. She took the quick route, opting to simply jump down from the roof, using the force to slow her fall. Her landing was still rough and she instinctively avoided locking her legs allowing herself to cushion her fall by going down to one knee. She muttered to herself at her lack of finesse. "Oof, that is probably not going to feel good in the morning." She turned her head to face the ranger. "I won't be able to catch you with the force, you'll have to climb down."

As the ranger made his way down and asked her about why she was there the Togruta seemed to finally remembered part of her purpose for being here. "Oh! Of course. I was told to head to the Sector Ranger outpost here. I just returned from a trip but he has yet to return from his. Apparently he arranged for me to stay there until he showed up. And yes, as you can tell cities are not really my thing." She didn't mind this man. He was one of the few who didn't immediately notice that she was blind and start coddling her. "Personally I prefer nature."

He saw her jump, and shook her head. Using the drain he quickly climbed after her, wasting no time he stood beside her. Authorities should already be on the way by now. Standing in the alley he looked over the dead boy. Such a shame. He then faced up to the Togruta. "That knee Trick might look cool, but it can seriously mess up those joints." He eyed her. With the force she was probably fine, but it had looked critical.

"Well, if you can wait for the police to arrive, I can accompany you there." He only noticed how ridiculous it was to offer a Jedi protection after he said it. "I know you are perfectly capable of defending yourself, just these thugs... well they don't and I don't want you to be bothered" Or anyone else to be hurt. He did not blame her at all, the Zabrak had enough chance to stop his folly, if anyone he blamed himself. With a sigh he looked at the unlucky thief. "I also like those nature worlds, they are just much more peaceful and to be honest beautiful. But my job often carries me into those systems were many live. Even if it happens a lot in Holodramas, in reality criminals seldom hide in jungles" He shook his head and looked over to the Jedi.

"I am Rand Mental by the way, Miss Jedi. It is an honour to meet you"

"Oh you don't need to worry about my knees. With the force all things are possible. Maybe not repairing them but making better landings definitely." A wave of dizziness hit the Jedi and she leaned against a wall. "Apparently my body does not agree with getting hit in the head however. As for accompanying me to the outpost that would be perfect. I think I've caused enough trouble by getting lost today."

The young Padawan placed her hand where the blunt instrument that had hit her had struck and she her hand away, blood clearly evident. "I guess I got hit harder then I thought." She reached into her pack for a shirt before pulling it out and placing it against the wound. "You don't need to worry about me being offended about being escorted. As I've proven today anyways I probably shouldn't be left alone on the streets of Corellia."

The young Togruta listened as the human described his fondness for nature worlds as well and she nodded in agreement to his opinion of where criminals tended to end up. "That they do not. Disappointing. Would certainly make the job more enjoyable if they did." She turned to face local police showing up and resumed standing up straight. This was going to be a long story... Hopefully Master Vaal would take her losing her lightsaber well.

He scoffed. "I have met a Jedi before, so maybe you are right about that. But do you get taught to flourish your powers so openly? It just seems a little, well, theatrical every now and then"

He only now truly noticed her bleed. It was a small wound, but that was just the outside, hits on the head were always tricky to judge. "Please, Miss Jedi, remain sitting. I will get you a bandage or something more, if the troopers have some qualitative things with them." He gave a chuckle at her comment of enjoying the work, before he approached the police. He started to explain it briefly, stating nearly everything except for the lost lightsaber. They wouldn't find the other teens, probably they would not even try. This was merely what went in this Zebraks report.

When he returned (given she sits, else discard this), he had a bandage with him. "Underfunded policemen. They don't have much morello offer" He said as he raised the bandage. "We have better things at the base, but well, for now it'll have to do."

"I suppose not. But practice makes perfect and I still need a lot of practice. Besides, everyone knows I'm a Jedi right now. I'm wearing myrobes and carrying a lightsaber on my belt. You'd have to be blind to miss the hints." The young Togruta chuckled at her own little inside joke. She continued to sit still while the ranger talked to the police and she continued to keep the piece of clothing pressed against her skull. When the ranger returned with the bandage she took it from him and tried to apply it. She pulled away the now bloodied clothing and slapped the bandage over the wound.

Somewhat confident in her small patch job the Jedi pulled her hood over her head, one of her montrals stuck through a small hole in the hood but at the moment she cared more about the warmth provided then the fact that she looked lopsided with the hood up. She stood up and faced the ranger. "If you're done here I for one am ready to leave this force-forsaken cold and find somewhere warm. If I ever become a Watchman I can tell you, I will pick someplace warmer then Corellia."

He looked at her still worried that she might be hit harder than It looks. But she seemed fine, no frantic movements, clear spoken words. That was a relief. "I see, and you just practice on the go. Well, then who am I to stop you. I know nothing about this force, just that it is really effective."

He offered a hand to help her up, but she didn't need it. So with her on two feet again, he gestured her to follow him. But when she spoke he had to chuckle. "I won't blame you for that one, but even if Correlia may make a shitty expression on you this time, that is exactly the reason we are needed here. Maybe one day it will be different." He still hoped that at last.

He led her to a police speeder. "Trooper Warner was so friendly to agree, to take us to the base. He will drive the thing, I suggest we hop in in the back. His partner will most likely want to sit in the front with him."

Dasi Chuckled as the ranger told her he knew nothing about the force. "Then you probably know more about it then I do. As much as I use it you'd be surprised to know that I prefer the practical side. Using it to see, jump, or predict something sure. Don't ask me about any of the more... mystical aspects however. Those lessons tended to be great for teaching me to fall asleep on a dime though." As the young Togruta slid into the back seat of the police speeder and rested her head back against the rest letting out a relaxing sigh. "I probably should have just taken a taxi earlier today."

As the speeder moved through the city streets the young Padawan fidgeted with her lightsaber in her hands. She was going to have to explain to Master Vaal what happened eventually and she wasn't sure how he would take losing her lightsaber. Even if she had retrieved it. She wondered if he would eventually help her build her own. Despite the fact that she had a "loaner" lightsaber she was beginning to get rather attached to this one. It had served her rather well so far. She wondered if she could keep it at least.
