Ask Street Level

[Nick Shaw]

He was finishing up paperwork when he was contacted by an old CSF Officer buddy of his who patroled down on level 1392. He had been tracking a small time drug dealer, who he thought might be peddling the new drug known as "Rage". The drug had become something of an epidemic on the streets of Coruscant and it was likely going to spread to other systems.

This drug was more dangerous than anything Nick had ever seen before. It made its users increasingly volatile and gave them extraordinary strength and stamina. He had been to scenes where people had torn each other apart with the bare hands after taking the stuff.

If they could get their hands on this guy, maybe he could lead him to his supplier. He had first tried to contact Duke, he had been in town and helped him initially with the investigation but business had taken him elsewhere. He called for backup, unsure what they were going to find in the lower levels.

He waited near the turbolift like the call had suggested. Nick nervously looked down at his chrono, not wanting to let this guy get away. Hopefully his backup would arrive shortly.

 

[Orn]

"We've got a suspect with a blaster, possible spice dealer,on the corner of Irgo and Praxis...standbye...Requesting Special Weapons or Spice Enforcement in the area to re-route to the area." The dispatcher's voice cracked through the radio in Orn's police cruiser, "Rendezvous with Officer Shaw, code zero..we don't want to spook the perp.." A possible spice sting, on such short notice and without prep work--this sounded like it was going to get messy.

Orn had been staking out leads on the Cardu case, but hadn't been able to find out much on these red sabers. Now criminals and spice dealers, that kriff was easy--or so he felt. He'd flip his finger over his radio's communicator, "10-4...This is Sergeant Orns, CSF S.W.A.T and Spice Enforcement en-route."

He'd throw a jacket over his t-shirt, in order to cover up the tattoos he had gotten for undercover operations. He would quickly toss a mask over his face to cover his identity and slid his blast vest on, and in no time, he would begin flying down the street towards the location--only slowing when he was within a block. He'd pull out, grabbing his stun blaster and an E-11 carbine. His blast vest marked with big block letters which read "S.E.T.F." (Spice Enforcement Task Force). "You Shaw?" He'd ask as he approached a man by a turbolift.

[Nick Shaw]

He lit a cigarette as he waited to help ease his nerves. He glanced down the street and saw the man climb out of the police cruiser. He had to fight the urge the roll his eyes. This guy was decked out in gear which would not suit their situation at all.

"Yeah, Nick Shaw." he said reaching out a hand. He would wait to let the man introduce himself before continuing. "I appreciate the back up, I have a bad feeling about this one." he said dropping his cigarette and stomping it out. "But we are going to have to make some modifications to your wardrobe, brother. " he said looking the man up and down.

"The second someone sees all of this.." he said gesturing towards his vest and rifle "that whole level is going to become a ghost town. We need to blend in if we are going to get close to this guy." he said meeting the man's eyes. Nick himself wore a plain shirt with a jacket over it, his blaster tucked in his back waistband. Other than the badge that hung around his neck, he looked like any other spacer out there.

While the man prepared to go down the lift, Nick would continue speaking. "So do you know anything about this new drug? They are calling it Rage on the streets." he asked. It wouldn't surprise him if he didn't know anything, it was so new and they had managed to keep the press down on this one so far but he was a drug enforcement guy so maybe.

 

[Orn]

Orn peered towards his kit, nodding as his voice came through muffled, "I'm an undercover agent," he'd say as he pulled his jacket sleeve up to reveal a set of gang tattoos covering his forearm. "If we're going to do this without a mask, I need to go in alone, and you watch from a distance..I get caught working with cops and my face is seen, and anything I built up for the past few years would be gone."

He'd sigh as he turned towards his cruiser, pulling the mask and the blast vest off and throwing it in the car, as well as the rifle. He'd turn back towards the man, as he looked up the lift. "Let me get close..see what's going on, if he's really selling Rage.." He thought about the substance and the tark it did to people's bodies. "Then, I'll move to make a purchase...you come and take us both in..Sound like a plan?"

[Nick Shaw]

He held up his hands in mock surrender. Nick generally was annoyed by the undercover types. They always thought they were hot shit, running around with their masks and edgy tattoos. Hopefully, this one at least had some sense.

"Let's do it your way then, cowboy." he said gesturing towards the elevator. Once they were inside they would descend down to the lower level. "This guy is squirrelly, he will bolt if he gets spooked." he warned as they neared the surface.

They arrived and Nick pointed down the street. "Three blocks that way is a shack where the guy sets up. There is a sign that reads "Mel's Pawn Shop" outside. I'll hang back and cover your six" he said letting the man take point.
