Greetings All,

New admission to this website at the recommendation of one of my comrades in Star Wars storytelling. I am very excited to embark upon this new adventure with all of you! Currently, I am still grasping the full extent of the amazing SW Universe crafted within this site; so if anyone has any suggestions on where to begin a potential character please feel free to message me!

I am comfortable with almost any role in the SW Universe, my only concern is making my characters true to the essence of THIS universe; since it seems to incorporate elements of both the new Canon and the former (and dearly missed) Expanded Universe, now classified as Legends. I will be full of questions for days, maybe even weeks, so please bear with me as I try to make certain I will be making a truly worthwhile contribution to this community.

I would be particularly interested in fleshing out this SW universe with additional lore-based content that people can interact with--I'm the kinda guy that spends hours reading lore and mentally building upon the existing material to fully develop a small fascinating concept into viable, canon-Legend material based environment for people to enjoy. If any of the Administrators have any additional information (other than the insightful pointers in the submission threads) as to specific areas of the SW Universe they want expanded upon, please send me a message and I will gladly accept a "contract" to propose a potential clearer picture of a previously darkened corner of this wonderful Galaxy, Far, Far Away...

Sincerely,
Kelbourne Valcyn

Welcome Welcome!

Just so you know Jedi and Republic are two different factions. We don't use the Legends material in the site canon in a general sense. Some of the tech and stuff maybe, but none of the history. If you have any questions please ask away!

Welcome to SWRP!

Nice to meet you, Kelbourne. It's a pleasure to see a lover for lore such as yourself! And @Megilwen is quite right, we're just straight-up new canon, per se. If you have any other questions or concerns of your own, we are always here to help out!

Have a fantastic stay.

Hi @TheKelbourneSupremacy!

Check your forum in box.

Now as for what sort of PC to make, you've got three slots for PC so there that. As for my vote, I'd say you're the writer. Craft whatever main faction or non main faction aligned son of a gun you care to craft.

Cheers!

Of course! I understand Legends is out of the picture canonically; but surely there is potential to incorporate the more popular elements (species like Chiss, Noghri--listed in the approved Section--which are EU creations; planets like Csilla, Honoghr) into the working universe until the new canon is established. Is this an acceptable approach or is it frowned upon?
I also know Jedi and Republic are two separate entities; just put a combined option for a kinda Light/Dark/Neutral approach lol

Oh yes planets and races are some of those things we do work with. Otherwise we'd be super limited as to what we could even work with. That's kind of what I was trying to get at with the "tech and stuff".

Ah I see I see. c:

I mean I'm biased in my vote ;)

Lame! Independents are da best. You can definitely get a feel for the storyline, then choose a main faction from there. A lot of freedom there too.

Fight me Lucy.

Out of curiosity...an informal poll for Thrawn fans: Who would be a better Thrawn in a live action representation: Jason Isaacs (Col. Tavington from the Patriot) or Benedict Cumberpatch (Khan from the new Star Trek: Into Darkness and star of the BBCs modern take on Sherlock)? I think Isaacs would be better. Other notable mentions are Hugo Weaving (Elrond from LotR and the Agent from The Matrix).

Pierce Brosnan???
I think Jason Isaacs would fit the role best out of those choices. However, it also would depend on what time period you would be going for. I also think Ed Harris, Eric Dane, or Stephen Lang could do it as well. I have been impressed with their roles as military officers in film.

Hey there and welcome to the site! Looks like you're already getting a feel for everything. :P

I would suggest checking out the submission boards for tech, species, and planets. Anything that has been approved there is canon for this site. If you're interested in world building, I find that constructing profiles for planet submissions can fill that void. :)

Any other questions, let me know! I'm always around.

After seeing Lang in Avatar I always imagined him fulfilling some sorta Mandalorian or ex-Special Forces guy like Walon Vau or Kal Skirata lol
