It really is as simple as this: SWRP isn't fun for me any longer. It has come to feel more like obligatory drudgery than any sort of fun and engaging pass-time. And if a hobby or pass-time doesn't feel fun anymore, then what's the point in keeping it up any longer?
The site feels like its become so much more draconian and restrictive. People get so busy fussing over the finer points of this or that PvP rule that they forget the whole point of this in the first place was to have some fun. Threads are heavily time-restricted and I feel more like I'm writing because I have a second job and less because I enjoy creative writing.
Not to mention how ideas I've pitched to others have been so gracefully handled. Which is to say, more or less ignored. And I know, "But Slamdingo, just write it anyway!" - and that would be perfectly dandy advice if the people ignoring and never answering me weren't literally essential to letting the idea happen or not. So when I feel like my ideas aren't appreciated, or worse that they're outright ignored, I've no more desire. I'm not going to expend my efforts and energy where its not wanted. Simple as that.
So in closing . . .
Lilin dies in the Mirial thread. I'll let others write it all out - I don't even want to be writing all of this stuff in the first llace.
In all other threads, I'm sorry but I won't be posting any longer. OOC Lilin to its end if you feel you must or just write as if she wasn't there to begin with. I don't honestly care what happens to my character.
