And why isn't the site interested in an expanded study of PvP?@Roen: I....don't think the site's interested in going down that path.

Making PvP too technical (as I think your suggesting?) defeats the purpose IMO. We have PvP mods for a reason, this regulates people taking proper hits. Unfortunately there is not going to be any way to please everyone when it comes to PvP, PvE battles, or anything for that matter. The best the staff can really do is attempt to please the masses. As @Nor'baal stated earlier I like the use of NPCs in very few scenarios, making the FLs work together, and expanding Main Battles. It seems like most Main Battles are decided purely by two or three PvP battles when in reality while those fights can make a difference as far as troop morale, supplies, etc. X number of Jedi/Sith aren't going to take the entire planet by themselves. And why isn't the site interested in an expanded study of PvP?

Not to disparage you, but every game has rules, and competitive games necessitate them. You'd send tabletop players into a froth with that kind-of sentiment.
Not to disparage you, but maybe because we don't need somebody who has been banned from PvP until February due to their poor behaviour in every PvP thread they've been in trying to tell people how we should do PvP.

^I was gonna add in something about how a strict ruleset system is counter-intuitive to the site's RP philosophy, and has been so for like...eleven years, but ^ is also a good point.
Ultimately, the problems with PvP comes down to the individuals, and only the individuals will truly be able to solve them. I don't see the admins as being able to slap a bandaid on it and fix it all. I've been a periodic user of SWRP (hopefully my graduation will ensure that I can stay around for the long term now), and the problems that have been raised in this thread have been around on-and-off for a long time—as I believe @Sreeya noted.
Idealistically, the best solution would be for the writers on this site to move away from the competitive aspects of PvP and focus on a more story-oriented mindset. For example, a user messaged me earlier about setting up a potential RP where our characters would fight one another, and he raised the question of how death would be handled. I immediately informed him that the best way to go about setting up an RP was to talk to one another about our characters' individual stories, what we hoped to get out of the RP, and then write based upon that conversation. That, I think, is the best way to avoid the cutthroat nature of PvP. It allows you to be spontaneous and fun in the RP, but also gives you a bit of an idea for the direction you want to write, without scripting the entire thing and making it boring.
As you can see, that solution is more of a personal one; it's something I can do to solve the problem in my own way. The admins could never realistically enforce that, nor could they regulate it. Long story short: I agree with what @Sreeya and some of the others were saying. The only way to change the PvP problems that currently plague the site is for the individual users to communicate and implement the changes themselves. Just my two cents. Hoped it helped out and contributed to the conversation, Boli.
If you've been barred from PvP by your faction you're likely not the best candidate to write the PvP rules. Like someone convicted of a financial crime shouldn't be the new secretary of the Treasury.I dont think discounting someones opinion and then flaming them because of their current situation particularly helps. Indeed it only adds to an already tense discussion, by pilling in rudeness.

If it helps, I don't really trust Prudii to give any good insights in this thread either.
