I'd like to submit the following starship designs for approval. I think it would be a good idea to use them to replace some of our current designs, as they are either outdated, impractical, or largely redundant.

mandokar.png

Name: Taung-class Star Dreadnought

Manufacturer: MandalMotors

Designer: Coro Kevara

Power Source: Ruusaan-XV9 Hypermatter Reactor (1), MandalMotors Olar-10 Emergency Power Generators (24)

Length: 13 km

A significant number of armaments are concealed beneath retractable armor panels all over the hull. Most of these are turbolaser and mass driver batteries, though there are also a number of rapid fire missile launchers and ion cannons. The dreadnought is also equipped with powerful tractor beam projectors, which have been positioned for maximum coverage. The vessel also possesses an advanced AI which is capable of managing many of the ship's functions. The AI also has a number of intrusion detection, firewall, and quarantine routines to combat cyber attacks or in most cases, prevent them entirely. The hull is thickly armored. It is also hardened against electromagnetic attacks, which it is capable of absorbing to some degree. The majority of the energy is dispersed into the frame, leaving otherwise vulnerable systems within the ship unharmed.

Name: Dalab-class "Scabbard" Star Cruiser

Classification: Star Cruiser

Role: Fleet Tender/Dedicated Carrier

Length: 8,000 km

Manufacturer: MandalMotors

Designer: Daelin Praos

Energy Source: Ruusaan-XV7 Hypermatter Reactor (1), MandalMotors Olar-10 Emergency Power Generators (12)

Armament: Limited (anti-starfighter and anti-missile armament consisting of quad laser cannon batteries, mass driver flak batteries, an extensive network of point defense arrays, and numerous heavy tractor beam projectors positioned for maximum coverage; no heavy ship-to-ship weapons)

Hanger Facilities/Starfighter Capacity: Starfighters (two wings; 144), Bombers (one wing; 72), Shuttles/Dropships (three squadrons; 36), Ori'aran Gunships (4), External Docking Berths (4; includes docking arms for destroyer size craft)

Hangar space for an additional two wings of starfighter or bomber craft is available, but usually reserved for support craft and extra cargo.

Description:

As a dedicated carrier and fleet tender, the Dalab is often at the heart of a fleet or battle group formation, offering both starfighter and bomber support during engagements and serving as a refueling and maintenance point for the vessels around it. It relies heavily on its own starfighters and other vessels for escort, as it has sacrificed heavy armaments for increased cargo and hangar capacity. Using large, extendable docking berths, it can support up to four destroyer size craft externally in order to refuel, repair, or tow.

Name: Kom'rk-class "Gauntlet" Destroyer

Classification: Destroyer

Length: 1,200 m

Manufacturer: MandalMotors

Designer: Coro Kevara

Energy Source: Ruusaan-T2 Hypermatter Reactor (1), MandalMotors Olar-7 Emergency Power Generators (8)

Crew: 3,800
Minimum Crew: 1,720

Armament: Heavy Mass Driver Cannons (turreted, dual barrel; 1 dorsal aft, 1 port aft, 1 starboard aft, 1 port aft ventral, 1 starboard aft ventral), Medium Mass Driver Cannons (turreted, dual barrel; 1 fore port, 1 fore starboard), Torpedo Pods (turreted, eight tubes each; 1 aft port, 1 aft starboard), Fixed Mass Driver Batteries (Light; 8 port, 8 starboard, 4 dorsal, 4 ventral), Fixed Turbolaser Batteries (Light; 16 port, 16 starboard, 8 bow, 8 stern), Fixed Turbolaser Batteries (Medium; 12 port, 12 starboard, 6 dorsal, 6 ventral, 4 bow, 4 stern), Heavy Composite Beam Weapon (heavy anti-capital ship laser; bow)

All fixed weaponry is housed beneath retractable armor plating. The composite beam weapon in the bow requires massive amounts of power, often leaving the vessel vulnerable in long, drawn out engagements. It also takes considerable time to recharge. Many variants have it replaced altogether, instead sporting a heavy missile launcher in its place.

Passenger Capacity: 400
Cargo Capacity: 10,000 metric tons
Consumables: 4 years
Hanger Facilities/Starfighter Capacity: Ventral Hangar Bay - Starfighters (24), Boarding Craft/Assault Shuttles (6), Ori'aran Gunship (1)

Description:

A dedicated destroyer, the Kom'rk was designed for sustained close to medium range ship-to-ship combat. With the most advanced shield generators available and multiple layers of heavy armor plating, the Kom'rk was made to last, but it is the extensive array of weapon systems that truly make this vessel worthy of its name, title, and origin. The main guns, five heavy, dual barrel mass driver cannons on the exterior of the vessel, can propel massive explosive, fragmentation, armor piercing, and a variety of other lethal projectile rounds at high velocity and long range. There is no doubt that this vessel is a Mandalorian warship, designed by the galaxy's fiercest and longest surviving warrior culture.

Name: Beviin-class "Lance" Assault Frigate

Classification: Assault Frigate

Manufacturer: MandalMotors

Designers: Coro Kevara & Daelin Praos

Length: 600 m

Energy Source: Hyperion JL-12 Reactor (1), MandalMotors Olar-7 Emergency Power Generators (6)

Crew: 720
Minimum Crew: 290

Armament: Dual Heavy Turbolaser Turrets (1 fore dorsal, 1 aft dorsal, 1 aft port, 1 aft starboard), Fixed Turbolaser Batteries (8 fore port, 8 fore starboard, 6 aft port, 6 aft starboard), Fixed Mass Driver Batteries (4 fore dorsal, 4 fore ventral, 2 attached to ends of ventral pylons), Fixed Ion Cannon Batteries (2 port bow, 2 starboard bow), Fixed Laser Point Defense Batteries (quad barrel, turreted, anti-starfighter; 24), Heavy Missile Launchers (2; bow)

All fixed weaponry is housed beneath retractable armor plating.

Passenger Capacity: 150
Cargo Capacity: 3,000 metric tons
Consumables: 2 years
Hangar Facilities/Starfighter Capacity: Ventral Hangar Bay - Starfighters (6), Boarding Craft/Assault Shuttles (3)

Description:

Though much slower and not nearly as maneuverable as many other vessels of its size, the Beviin makes up for these detractors with heavy ablative armor plating and an equally formidable armament. While it is most effective when utilized in small groups to seek out and overwhelm much larger vessels, it was designed to withstand a considerable degree of damage even when alone and far outclassed. This has made it a valuable addition to the Mandalorian fleet, which can little afford to lose a vessel and then rebuild from scratch with the limited resources at their disposal. Largely compartmentalized, each section of the vessel is capable of functioning on its own despite sustaining heavy damage elsewhere and even after a loss of power in other parts of the vessel. This is made possible due to multiple emergency power generators, a compartmentalized life support system, and manual override controls for weapon stations and other vital ship systems in each section of the ship (some of which require no power at all to operate). This also allows for easier maintenance and repair, as damaged sections can be removed completely and replaced without the need to modify, rewire, or reconstruct the entire vessel. Ship commanders were sometimes known to override the power regulation safeties and utilize the emergency power generators to boost shield strength at the cost of losing backup power and the risk of potentially dangerous power surges. One drawback to the compartmentalized design was the fact that a single saboteur could easily wreak havoc if a manual override control station was accessed and compromised, but such a security breach was deemed unlikely, especially with an all Mandalorian crew aboard.

FlakCorvette-1-1.jpg

Name: Ori'aran-class "Ultra-Guard" Gunship

Classification: Heavy Gunship, Corvette

Role: Anti-Starfighter Escort, Troop Support and Dropship

Height: 34 m
Width: 67 m
Length: 95 m

Manufacturer: MandalMotors

Designers: Coro Kevara & Daelin Praos

Energy Source: MandalMotors Olar-5 Linked Power Generators (4)

Crew Necessity: 32

- Ship Commander: 1
- Communications Officer: 1
- Sensor/Navigation Officer: 1
- Gunnery Officer: 1
- Pilot: 1
- Co-Pilot: 1
- Gunners: 21
- Mechanics: 2
- Astromechs: 3

Armament: Quad Laser Cannon Turrets (12; light), Single Barrel Laser Cannon Turrets (6; medium), Single Barrel Laser Cannon Turrets (5; light), Sensor Decoy/Chaff Launcher (1)

Passenger Capacity: 20
Consumables: 3.5 months

Other:

The twelve quad barrel laser cannon turrets were light, rapid fire laser weapons designed to quickly eliminate hostile starfighters and bombers, but they were equally capable of raining fire down upon infantry and light vehicles with outstanding precision.

Three light, single barrel laser cannon turrets were positioned just above the bridge, two facing aft and one facing forward. Two more were positioned on the belly and facing aft.

A second series of single barrel laser cannon turrets, more powerful than the lighter quad variants, were located on the port and starboard sides of the vessel, between the dorsal and ventral quad cannons. These were more effective against stationary or slower moving targets because of their low firing rate.

Three powerful sublight engines provided the speed necessary to intercept enemy fighter craft, making the gunship a formidable obstacle to enemy starfighters and bombers.

An armored docking arm, concealed by two retractable armor panels, could be extended from the bow of the vessel for boarding operations. On either side of the arm were four small launcher tubes that housed magnetic grapples and a length of cable for each. These grapples could be used to reel the ship in close to another vessel. Once attached securely, two high intensity lasers could then slice through the hull of the enemy vessel as the docking arm extended and attached itself to create a hard seal.

Description:

A fast, highly maneuverable craft, its roles varied from reconnaissance and patrol to troop lander and direct fire support. It was most commonly used in and around fleet formations to provide excellent defense against starfighters and other small craft. It was even used in support of infantry units planetside, its anti-starfighter cannons shredding hostile troops and light vehicles with ease. The power requirement for utilizing its considerable array of laser weaponry was high, leaving little surplus for boosting shields or engine power without first disabling many of the weapon systems. This was one major drawback to arming such a small vessel so heavily, but was often overlooked, as an overwhelming offense was seen as being more important than strengthened shielding and increased engine power. When the engines required the power necessary to intercept more nimble starfighters, only key weapon stations remained active. However, with the vessel destined to fly escort and protect larger starships more often than intercept, it was viewed as a necessary sacrifice.

Name: Jai'galaar-class "Shriek-hawk" Dropship

Classification: Heavy Assault Shuttle/Dropship

Role: Assault Shuttle, Troop Dropship

Length: 41.2 m

Manufacturer: MandalMotors

Designer: Coro Kevara

Energy Source: MandalMotors Olar-3 Linked Power Generators (2)

Crew Necessity: 3

- Pilot: 1
- Co-Pilot: 1
- Gunner: 1

Armament: Heavy Dual Barrel Laser Cannons w/ Linked Grenade Auto-Cannon (1 port bow, 1 starboard bow), Laser Repeater (1 stern), Sensor Decoy/Chaff Launcher (1 aft dorsal)

Passenger Capacity: 40
Consumables: 1 month

Description:

The Jai'galaar is a heavily armored, lightly armed dropship and assault shuttle with powerful engines and sufficient troop and storage space for a full platoon, a dozen speederbikes, and additional equipment and supplies. While the Jai'galaar lacks maneuverability, its speed and heavy armor are its most valued assets, allowing it to rocket through an atmosphere full of flak and drop troops safely to the ground. It gained its namesake from the shrieking sound its heavy engines and repulsors make as it descends from orbit during a special but extremely dangerous maneuver. During this maneuver, the pilot throttles to max acceleration as he enters the atmosphere of a planet with the heavily armored belly of the vessel faced downward and its engine nacelles adjusted upward. Despite the drag from the flat surface of the ship's underside, the vessel is accelerated far beyond what most craft can handle and seemingly plummets straight down to the surface as if destined to crash. However, at the last instant, four powerful, ventral repuslor drives are activated just moments after the engines shut off. The ship is jerked upward abruptly, then settles down to land, launching a volley of smoke and incendiary grenades before finally coming to a rest, landing gear extended.

vencuship.jpg

Name: Kyramud-class "Assassin" Gunship
Classification: Gunship
Role: Patrol & Fast Attack Craft, Strike Bomber

Manufacturer: MandalMotors

Designer: Coro Kevara

Energy Source: MandalMotors Olar-2 Linked Power Generators (2)

Consumables: 2 months

Description:

A fast, highly maneuverable craft, the Kyramud was designed to carry and fire an impressively lethal anti-shield and anti-armor payload at enemy capital ships to cripple or destroy them quickly. It is heavily armed and armored and easily configured to fit other roles. Orginally a prototype piloted by Al'akaan Corden Vencu, it was eventually mass produced for wide scale use within the fleet.

The two wing-like projections on either side of the central structure fold to the rear upon landing. Besides electronical and mechanical hardware, these wing-like projections also house multiple cargo compartments and ammunition storage areas.

rwing.jpg

Name: Prudii-class "Shadow" Interceptor

Classification: Interceptor Starfighter

Role: Reconnaissance, Escort, Interceptor

Length: 12.4 m

Manufacturer: Mandal Hypernautics (subsidiary of MandalMotors)

Designer: Coro Kevara

Energy Source: MandalMotors Olar-1 Power Generator

Crew: 2

- Pilot: 1
- Astromech: 1

Armament: MandalMotors XA-5 Linked Laser Cannons (2 port wing, 2 starboard wing), Cluster Missile Launchers (2 tubes, 6 missiles each; fore ventral), Sensor Decoy/Chaff Launcher (1 aft ventral)

Consumables: 2 days to 1 week (depending on configuration)

Description:

Visually, the Prudii appears to be a cross between two famous Incom starfighters, the X-wing and the A-wing. However, as an interceptor, its specifications are closer to that of the A-wing. Regardless, it is still its own unique design and like most Mandalorian creations, sports a deadly array of weaponry, a powerful weapons capacitor, and an equally powerful sublight engine that allows the vessel to keep pace and match even the fastest Alliance, Chiss, and Imperial interceptors in both speed and firepower. Several configurations exist, some sacrificing armor and weaponry for stealth capabilities and surveillance equipment and others sacrificing speed for missile and bomb racks beneath each wing.

Is the Taung supposed to replace the Ragnarok? because the Ragnarok was actually my design not Arm's I just gave it to him over PM, or is the Taung an add on to the list?

most of them are descent designs, and I will consider adding them in, and if these are supposed to replace current ships what ships are you wanting to replace?

If you guys are going to change the make-up of your fleets, then either I or Bac need to know ASAP, as we are midway through reviewing this faction.

Just a heads up.

Nothing's finalized as of yet Scott, waiting for input from Corden first, most likely will add the Kom'kr and the Ori'aran for certain as those are ships Corden's character has already previously used, as for the Taung I don't know

That's my point. We need it finalized as soon as you're able. I was actually going to review the fleet today, but if you're going to change the fleet composition, then I need to wait for that to happen.

I'll add the 2 ships I listed the Kom'kr and the Ori'ana to the fleet list as for the others, until Corden can get back to me on his proposal for "Replacement" and the fact that the Taung doesn't have any listed weapons I'm not going to accept them, but I'm not the only one who can say Yay or Nay on these things, Johnny and Mars are also leaders of this faction.

The Taung-class has already been approved, previously by Arm, and more recently Mars has given me the greenlight to have two more constructed. The weapon systems are labeled in the picture. If you really need a specific number of weapons, compare it to the armament of an Executor-class Star Dreadnought. Since the Taung-class is two kilometers shorter, it would have slightly fewer weapon systems than the nineteen kilometer Executor-class.

Vessels that I propose should be removed from the list are as follows:

Shushai, Sur'ulur, Sim'olan, Mythosaur, Solus starfighter, Tom'urcir interceptor, Tsad bomber, Apollo starfigher, Loki starfighter, Tebec dropship, Heavy Troop Transport Dropship, Ram'or gunship (pretty much a slightly weaker version of the Mythosaur Gunship)

The multi-role nature of many of the vessels I created gives us adaptability and with fewer vessel designs, parts and weapon systems are easily interchanged, reducing construction and repair costs substantially. We don't need a dozen different kinds of cruisers, destroyers, or fighters. One or two that can be configured for different roles will be fine. In the case of fighter craft, the Prudii-class Interceptor can be a dedicated starfighter, interceptor, reconnaissance and stealth craft, or even a light bomber depending on the mission configuration. That's highly adaptable and far more efficient than carrying a different craft for every type of mission. See my point? It goes for most of the vessels I'd like to see removed. They are redundant or too specific to a single role.

Also, all the beskar alloy plating used on the majority of the vessels currently listed is against site policy, so I suggest it be removed immediatly. Beskar alloy is only permitted for personal use. The quantities of beskar it would take to cover an entire ship would far exceed any reasonable limit of use, alloy or not.

The Tom'urcir is being kept, secondly I was unaware that the Taung had been accepted previously, also after talking with Scott (Boli) no ship can be larger than 15km, thus the Ragnarok was cut down, having multiple star fighters is a good idea, even in modern military we have multiple fighter craft, having a single star fighter that can fill multiple roles is a decent Idea, but also inefficient, I like the idea of having a dedicated bomber, and air/space superiority fighter, I also like the idea of the Stealth fighter.

I'd say build the new ones in limited quality and slowly decommission the old. I am leaving this up to you guys as ships are not my forte.

Is this exclusive to our faction or to all the factions? The Empire has a forty kilometer star dreadnought and a twenty kilometer one.

A few different types is fine, but there should be a limit. A dedicated starfighter, a dedicated interceptor, and a dedicated bomber would work well. Your Tom'urcir would be the dedicated starfighter, the Prudii would be an alternate starfighter and dedicated interceptor, and the Kyramud would be our dedicated strike bomber. How's that?

Thank you for the clarification. I'll drop it down to fifteen kilometers.

Just curious, but why was it capped at fifteen instead of twenty?

Well, for one, pretty much anything bigger than 15km (ie Eclipse, Executor) was built when the Empire monopolized the vast majority of the galaxy, and they still almost bankrupt the government. Hell, the cost of a single Imperial-class Star Destroyer was greater then an average planet's GDP. We decided a 15km limit was more then generous, especially considering most of these designs were theoretically rushed into service during the arms race that predates the timeline.

It also gives the staff the opportunity to use mothballed supercapitals from history (Like an Executor-class, for example) in main battle threads as a capture objective, as opposed to the usual straight up attack/defend scenario. There's no point in dangling a 19km ship in front of everyone as bait when you can just build your own.

That makes perfect sense. Thank you for taking the time to explain.

If you haven't finished yet, would it be too late to add another vessel for review?

Alright time for me to be a jack ass.

Number one I may not have a third seat but I have confirmed with Johny I am still at my old rank in the fleet, and still have lead over all Ships and tech for the faction with that said none of this being brought up to me or even considered asked since I am the one who has more than 90% created this factions vessels is just hurtful.

Next having one or two ships with interchangeable parts are fine and decent idea I was toying with that option with the Midway class the only issue is Multi-role craft are never 100% good in any task making them vulnerable to well everything and not as effective as dedicated craft. Next more then half your designs cordon why I didn't approve of them before (and yes he has brought them up before.) is simple. More then half of those vessels have fixed weaponry which in naval warfare on land is fine since moving at slow speed and can get into a broadside position to fight is comparable to dialing artillery. In space getting in close enough to broad side is well a death sentence.

Several others have extreme structural failing areas which makes them easy targets. for example good well placed shots to the tangs neck and boom the ship is destroyed that thing is so small and lined with enough guns the secondary explosions would decimate it.

the Beviin again the design isn't structurally sound considering to be able to do what you say most of the sections would only have locking mechanisms in place destruction of one section would spread to the others for the fact its essentially one giant Lego piece, and also its weapons are all fixed making it a close range vessel with crappy maneuverability it be a sitting duck SD would eat it for breakfast.

I can go on picking these things apart since well you tried for the second time cordon to go over my head.

How can I go over your head if you're never around? You've been inactive ever since you were asked to step down from third-in-command. You haven't contributed anything to the faction and now you're back suddenly to reclaim everything that you abandoned. Don't be angry that other people are taking initiative to move this faction forward in your absence.

---EDIT---

The fixed weaponry is behind retractable armor plating when not in use. That doesn't mean it can't swivel from side to side or raise up and down when fully extended. Each weapon system is on a gimbal of sorts.

The Taung-class is massive. The width and length far exceed the size of conventional warships and its hull and exterior armor plates are far thicker... not to mention it's shields... It is far less vulnerable than you're making it out to be.
