Also, am I the only person who thinks that the new Battlefront will release space battles as an expansion pack?
Eh, expansions for AAA games in 2015? Don't hold your breath. They'd just take it as an excuse to release it as a full priced 'sequel'.

"A game's expansion. Released by a trustworthy company. Not as clumsy or as random as DLC. An elegant addition to a game... for a more civilized age."

I think a lot of people are upset right now, when a while back they talked about modeling this battlefront off of the first SWBF1 and not the second. They re-purposed the engine for future Star Wars battlefront games, honestly I like the Original Stuff, so I don't really mind that there aren't any droids, but I'm just glad that they didn't go with the ground to space idea.

While sounding awesome, it would be rather large and it would alienate players in my opinion. The only thing that I did enjoy from Star Wars Battlefront Elite Squadron was being able to attack the interior of the ships, so I'm excited for the Death Star Map that was rumored. Other than that I can't wait for this game.

That, makes no ****ing sense, if you're playing as the Empire. Rebels, fine, whatever. But the Empire's Stormtroopers had a very distinctive look depending on what role you filled. Regular Stormtroopers didn't carry around E-11s Sniper Rifles. Scout Troopers did.
I was actually put off by scout troopers having sniper rifles when I first saw pictures of Battlefront 1. I imagined them being primarily utility focused, since all I had to go on was their biker skillz in Ep6. Honestly speaking: equipment allocation should not be any different in the Empire than in the Rebels. For snipers in particular, it takes a special kind of training and skill on part of the person that not everyone can accomplish. I would imagine that scout troopers were not required to have steady hands or whatever to join the scouts, but the ability to be an accurate marksman was appreciated by recruiters.

I remember those days, where it was far more like an Expansion Pack then a DLC pack, like these titles I consider good Expansions.

I'm not sure how i feel about the fact that you can't get into vehicles at will. Nevertheless i think it'll be fun

I don't know if I like the fact that the Rebels and Empire can use one another's classic guns... I mean, Rebels using Imperial guns, I can understand. Easily obtained from the battlefield and black market, but the Empire using classic Rebel guns? I dunno.

It's probably not meant to be canon friendly and more just to spice up gameplay. Like how in most first person shooters that usually pit country X against country Y will allow you to use weapons that definitely aren't in their arsenal.

If you want a real world example maybe look to various armed conflicts. For the Allies of WWII or Western forces in Vietnam there are many cases of, for various reasons, standing professional militaries using captured weapons in lieu of their issued stuff.

Modern military forces are also known to use captured weapons over their own, though it is most commonly practiced in special forces.

That was true in like, the 60's and 70's. Not so much anymore. They mostly use tailor-made equipment now, as a shitty quality chinese AKM knock-off isn't going to out perform a tailor made spec-forces battle rifle.

<Rambling nonsense that was deleted because Silverface is high as a kite right now>

Dat DLT-19. Unf. Can't wait.

I thought it looked fantastic. First of all.
Second of all, I never played any of the Battlefield games, so this is fresh as daisies to me. Looks like it will feel like how Battlefront felt the first time I played it. Except better, because it's new. Everything seems streamlined, animations especially. I'm not so sure about removing the class system and replacing it with the Oh-SO-popular loadout system, but the era of class-focused multiplayer is nearly over. Only TF2 braves the storm of loadout systems, thanks to a strange obsession with hats and a loadout system within it's class system. The thing that is important about class-based multiplayer, is that each class needs to be recognizeable at a glance. that tall skinny guy? That's the sniper. The big fat guy? He's got a big f***off gun. That guy with the labcoat? You kill him on sight. Putting in character customization like the new Battlfront is gonna have throws that out the window. Hell, the original two did a terrible job with it. As far as the rebels go. They all looked the same. The droids, at least they had droidekas and super battle droids to mix things up, the empire and republic did a decent job of it with color variations and such, and those d**n huge dark troopers. [Who wreck shop in the tight spaces of the Tauntive IV, btw.]

Enough yammering, though, I'm just saying that since I never played battlefield, the gameplay doesn't just seem like a reskin to me.

From all of the playtest videos I've seen, the game looks almost too hard. Like, every time someone's playing, they're saying things like, "I have no idea what's going on" or "This is so hard". IDK but a large portion of the Star Wars audience isn't your typical FPS customer.

They should have created a new name for it instead of using Battlefront, since it is not really Battlefront anymore, looking at the gameplay videos.

Really all we needed was an upgraded version of Battlefront II, not this mess that DICE is making. Oh well. At least there are still two good Battlefronts . . .

I think when it comes to that they've only played a handful of games. From the gameplay I've seen there is nothing too difficult to understand. Move to objective marker and kill the things that don't look like you. People handled every other shooter Star Wars has so I don't know what the people you mentioned seem to be having a problem with.

I think we can all agree, or most of us can, that this looks fun and want to play it. It's the whole fishing out $60.00 to play this is the issue.

So far, it's looking like it's not providing me with a whole lot of content. We got a mode similar to Mass Effect 3's multiplayer, Deathmatches, and of course the big battles.

I'm hoping we see a bit more before this game is released. Maybe some Hero and Villain action. We got Darth Vader, Boba Fett and Luke Skywalker. Wouldn't mind seeing maybe Han Solo as another gun slinger Hero for the Rebels. It'd be a good match up for Fett too.

Fair enough but I've played the latest Battlefield game (which Battlefront is basically a port of with OT aesthetics) and it's a shitshow. So much is going on ("There's so much in every frame.") and you die pretty often, which I'm sure can get discouraging for some players ("How do you pause this game?" - Bac).
