“How can I trust you?” It was the burning question in both their minds. “Our Order has largely lost the trust of the galaxy, if I were to release you and our deal never materializes…I look the fool.” Alex was far too aware of the optics. “The Grandmaster who set the Sith Lord free.” She shrugged. “The Rangers were berated when they lost Asminys and Manat. I do not wish to join those ranks.” Alex ran a hand through her short hair. Her options were slim. “But I do want peace.” The truth in her words was unmistakable. It rang solidly in the Force. Even dulled, Artorigas could not possibly miss it.

“Help me take this leap of faith.” The Grandmaster was certain of her path. The Jedi could no longer abide the endless slaughter of innocent lives. Too often, war was the only answer to stopping the bloodshed. She saw a different path. Was this the first step?

He could see the issues the 'Grandmaster' faced, he was a Sith Lord not one to easily let go with no more than just his word. Artorigas could not deny that having the galaxy fall more out of love with the Jedi would be a bonus to not only himself but the Sith as a whole. But he knew that at this moment the Sith needed peace, they were still a rag tag group of individuals, Andruil only had a loose grip over the Empire. It needed to be solidified before they ever faced the mass ranks of the New Republic and Jedi. "I offer a trade." He said out loud before his mind had finished evaluating every outcome.

"As you said, their may be repercussions for my failure. And even more so if I bring this to Andruil and she is not displeased. With that I must protect my family. So I offer a trade, you release me and in my steed I will give my family into your care. I trust you will do them no harm and protect them if our gamble does not pay off. And you have some security over my good intentions, as I would not risk their lives invading a planet they may very well be a part of. Does this sound acceptable?"

Was she willing to take this step? Alex wanted peace. The galaxy screamed with the strain of the war. It was all she heard before falling asleep. How could she call herself a protector of life when the trappings of death hung all around her? Death came to Ossus because of her. If she could stop the killing, even for a moment, it would be worth it. Alex knew the difficulty lay in convincing the Republic. The Free Worlds she could handle…Emil was a different beast.

“Deal.” The Force rang with finality. “I will protect your family as if it is my own.” This was the right choice. She was certain. “You have a sister, correct?” Alex did her homework before interrogations. Unlike many of the Sith Lords, Caelestis ruled openly. “We will make the switch at a neutral site of my choosing. I trust you can get a message to them if provided the means?” She looked into his eyes. “Then we will both set about our work…and your family will be kept at one of the Temple, which you will not know.” The bargain would be struck, and their feet set on this path. There was no turning back.

"If you provide me a means of contacting Serenno, I will be able to arrange this that is no problem." He said bowing his head in thanks to the Jedi Grandmaster. "Once the trade has been dealt with and I am once again free I will commit all I can to prevent any future wars across the galaxy." He smiled when she mentioned Cornelia that was a different kettle of fish. "I have three to be precise, two are upon Serenno, it is they and their families I wish protected. Cornelia the youngest on the other hands is a different matter, she has become a Sith like me so I doubt I would be able to have her agree. I hope this is no issue?"
