If it makes any lick of difference, we treated more like a real fight than cPvP. The only thing about it that was cinematic was the planned ending to the thread.

Note: This was a boss battle for the end of a plot. Though it was a DMed fight, it was treated as normal PvP and was death-enabled (and a character did, indeed, die).

FTL DM'd the pirates and there was a very real chance of character death, which we all agreed to before the thread.
