Augustine followed Laya's gesture, watching the bounty hunters carefully. His hand was on his pistol still, ready for anything.

"Sure," he spoke, standing and gesturing to the doorway, "My ship isn't too far. I'll drop you off." Augustine smiled at her, but quickly returned his gaze to the bounty hunters. Obviously, this Jedi girl was worried about them, and their movements seemed restless.

Before I go, Xalax, the name is Augustine Denturi. I'm a merc comin' into the business." Augustine spoke, producing a small handful of credits, about 300 or so. "Get the word out will ye'?"

"How fer are ye parked Augustine?" Laya asked, rising slowly from her seat. That very movement in itself brought a stir from the hunters. They could see her now and there was no mistaking her, to the point, Laya had come across several reward posters of her in various places, but never here, Nar Shaddaa was essentially her second home. She lowered her voice, "When we get to the door, walk very casual like, don't look behind....which way? Left or right?" She said to him, suiting her words by walking as if she hadn't a trouble in the world towards the exit.

Augustine gestured his chin left, following in Laya's lead. The spiced Juma still had an effect, his fingers twitching slightly from the narcotic. He could do casual, no problem. He smiled, stepping forward, putting his arm around her waist and guiding her through the cantina to the doorway, his other resting on the grip of his pistol.

"Shall we then?" he asked, looking down at her with a handsome smile. He glanced over his shoulder notice the bounty hunters getting up from their table. He leaned in close, appearing flirtatious, but whispered quietly, "We should probably shoot first." He was prepared to draw at the earliest convenience.

They were outside now, and in turning left with the rogue's arm around her waist Laya wasn't going to be caught out. Not that it didn't feel comfortable, she rather felt somewhat relaxed; but it certainly wasn't the right moment, nor time as far as she was concerned and besides, he was a little on the nose now. "If'n they make a move, we're not exactly in the position to make a defence is we?" She said out of the corner of her mouth.

Another few paces and Laya could feel the hairs on her neck stand, that according to Jago, was the force at work. How he knew, was beyond her, he always claimed he had nothing to do with the Jedi, yet he knew so much about them. Nevertheless, she knew what this meant, those bounty hunters were right behind them, following them and they would wait until the two of them were more easily taken down, somewhere of their choosing. Laya might appear a backwoods country yokel, that was mostly a charade, she was smart and quite intelligent, probably more so than expected. They came to a corner, a nice narrow alley way and Laya guided the two of them into it.

"Ah'd say ye might want to shoot first." She said at that moment.

Sure enough the bounty hunters followed them, of course they weren't the smartest species in the universe; with their weapons drawn expecting an easy kill, Laya separated from Augustine to face them, her lightsabre appearing in her hand.

"Ye can die now, or walk away, yer choice." She said calmly.

Augustine turned as soon as they rounded the corner, raising an eyebrow at Laya. He drew his pistol, crouching low right at the corner next to a waste-can, waiting for the bounty hunters to come around the corner. As they did, he stood, pointing his pistol directly in the face of the nearest bounty hunter, even as Laya drew her saber and threatened them.

He smiled in the bounty hunter's face, shrugging nonchalantly, "I'd listen to the lady friends." he spoke, nodding in Laya's direction. He flipped off the safety on his weapon, waiting for their reaction.

At first there were only 2 of them, Laya knew there was 3 in the bar, and sure as it rains when you least want it, the third and fourth appeared round the corner, blasters already firing by the time you could blink. Stupid as it was, in a street full of people to attract attention like that; this place was renown for others just spoiling for a reason to fight; any reason at all...so Laya took full advantage of it.

She deflected the first blasts easily, giving Augustine a chance to eliminate his man; none of them said a word, until Laya took the shooting hand off the first shooter, pulled the weapon away from the fourth and sent him flying back into the street, only to be run down by a speeder. The handless man screamed in pain and went down on his knees, clutching his stump; that left only number two. "Well?" She spat at him and he turned and vanished into the street. Agustine's man stood there eyes wide open, Laya stood next to her companion, waiting for his move. But what ever that turned out to be, they needed to get out of here quickly. "Whatever ye decide, do it now, we need to leave. Those..." She indicated to the street. "...will not be alone."

Augustine nodded, grinning to the woman as he pulled the trigger. "Not bad," he said somewhat sarcastically, "Let's go then. It's just around the corner up here." For a moment, he crouched low, cutting the credit pouch off the fallen man's hip, tossing it lightly to weigh it before pouring it into his own, throwing the remnants to the street.

He walked past her, continuing towards the dock where he had parked the Ronin. He only paused for a moment at the final turn to wait for Laya, gesturing for her to continue ahead of him towards the ship. "Ladies first" he smiled.

"Ah've had to learn fast Augustine. Ye don't live long around these parts bein' an idiot." Laya began as she followed him, keeping up with her conversation. She wasn't surprised either by his choice, that was expected of course. "Me old cap'n Jago taught me one important thing in dealin with these types, make sure ye leave a reputation behind, they'll be less wantin to come after ye in the future. That one..." She jabbed with her thumb over her shoulder. "Will be tellin his cohorts, soon enough word will spread thet there is a pair o' very dangerous people goin round not to be messed with lightly. O' course, ye know they won't stop, more the likely bigger numbers next time."

At the turning she stopped at his gesture. "Ah can say the same, not bad. Ye handle yeself well. This yours?" She asked looking at his ship.

Augustine nodded, looking up at the Ronin's hull. As they approached he stretched his hand up, running it along the ventral side of the JS-77B Shuttle. He smiled, turning to her as he leaned against the low slope of its front.

"I imagine you're right. She's called Ronin. Hell of ah' ship if I say so myself, she's kinda like us, able to handle herself. Where do you need us to take you?" he spoke with a grin, pressing a button on his wrist-comm as he finished, lowering the boarding ramp. He walked up it, his combat boots thudding with a dull metallic sound as he boarded, then turned and invited Laya in, his hand on the controls waiting to close it behind her.

There was a grin as wide as a Hutt's belly on Laya's face as she walked up the ramp. She began simply, but it ended up being a rather long dialogue.

"JS-77B, 18 by 10 by 2 metres....." She went on describing the entire specifications of the Ronin, walking slowly as she did so. It was almost as if she were standing still, yet moving and by the time she finished, Laya sat herself down in the co-pilots seat. "Ah nicked one once, nice ride Augustine, ye do have taste after all." She looked up at him, waiting for him to take his own command seat and grinned once again. "Got a good price for it to." Laya chuckled, it had been a while since she found a reason to laugh.

She handed the piece of paper to him with the co-ordinates neatly written. Despite her lack of schooling, Laya was at times a contradiction, her hand writing was rather elegant. "It's a ways across innit?" She said flatly, feeling a little let down that Xalax hadn't been able to come up with something closer. "We be lookin fer a Gammorean trader there at the outpost."

Augustine grinned as she spit off the dimensions of the ship. "Well, aren't you something else." he mused, walking to the cockpit, quickly sliding into the captain's seat. Checking his wrist-comm, he whistled, then took the coordinates off of her.

"Ronin here will get us there in no time flat. I have some modified engines in her, Quadex Kryomasters. She'll get up and go." he grinned roguishly. Flicking a few switches, the larger engines in Ronin's engineering deck began to hum as the ship powered up. He looked at her, inviting her into the other seat. "I'll get you there, but I have a prior arrangement I need to be getting to. If you don't mind, I'll drop you off, get you to your meeting, then I gotta space." he said, explaining to her.

"Nah, not really. Its me business to know stuff like that. With all the different vessels out there, in me former employment, one had to know, so ah made a study of it....what?" She looked at him grinning. "...so yeah ah didna have much of a life." The last was added with a touch of sadness as it was a true fact of her life.

Laya settled in for the short ride, all the while pondering her life, before and the future. "Good choice on the Kryomasters, although ye might find em a little glitchy in extreme cold atmo entries...so, ah won't see ye again Augustine?" She asked and then suddenly remembered. "Oh, ye were going to give me co-ordinates to continue me search fer the Jedi weren't you?" Then there was getting back to her ship. Laya would probably have to steal something again, or try and hitch a ride.

{Augustine} NPC

"I'd say it was doubtful Laya. But if our path's do cross again, I hope it will be without you running from someone, or indeed your past. Tread carefully girl, its a big dangerous galaxy out there." He handed her a disk with the co-ordinates she needed and then, Augustine left her standing there, wondering if she was even in the right place. She watched as his small ship took off with a cloud of dust and debris, turned and headed for the markets here.

Some 30 minutes later, Laya had concluded a deal, which saw her not only get her coolant pumps at a decent price, but a ride back and some help installing them. Apparently the man took a shine to her, that or her pleading eyes, which worked every time.

An hour after that Laya was clear of the Hutt Worlds and on her way to a new life.

((OOC very short lame post...sorry. But I get bored very easily when there's no help Lol ))
