DESCRIPTION
The SP1 Starstorm is an ungainly-looking spacecraft manufactured by the Jedi Order for use by high-ranking knights and other agents. Hand-assembled and tuned by Jedi craftsbeings, these ships are highly regarded by their pilots. The Starstorm, despite its ungainly appearance, is a formidable craft. The type is equipped with a medium laser cannon and a 3-shot concussion missile launcher, and possesses both a hyperdrive and light shielding to boot. It does suffer somewhat in terms of speed - about 80 MGLT, compared to the 90 many starfighters can achieve - but is maneuverable enough to tangle with such craft, especially with an experienced pilot at the controls, as is often the case.
Starstorms can carry up to 500 kilograms of cargo, plus 2 passengers in addition to the pilot, making them well suited to the role of a light courier vessel. These ships are often used to transport small, high-value cargoes, or to insert or extract agents of the Order into or out of enemy territory. They are also used for deep reconnaissance. Owing to the highly secretive nature of the Jedi Order, Starstorms are usually equipped with a self-destruct mechanism to prevent capture, protecting the sensitive Jedi technology used in their construction.
