The past can bring back old demons, while the future can create new ones. When you seek answers, know that they may not be what you want to hear. When you make a choice, know there will be consequences. When you take away everything someone loved, and leave them with nothing, know that on that day, you have created a monster.
Yusanis Dar'sen was walking through streets of Nar Shaddaa, cloaked and hooded, but fully armored underneath. As a Mandalorian, he never went anywhere without a weapon or armor. As a Sith, he never took a breath without feeding some emotion. Today, that emotion was complex- he felt invigorated, yet short of breath. Fearful to continue, but hellbent on doing so. He wanted to slaughter everyone who dared look in his general direction, but none more so than himself.
He had foregone his typical robes, and instead put on a simple black cloak that reached his ankles, hood up to obscure any view of his featureless helmet that altered his voice. Although the act of sneaking like some coward made disgust roil in his gut, he had no choice. If someone found out he was a Sith, there would be many here that would want him dead. That being said, his lightsabers were clipped to his belt on both sides, but with the cloak, they went unseen. His blaster on on his thigh holster, ready and primed to be shot at a moment's notice.
Many walked these streets, unwilling to be found or noticed, and so a dark and hooded figure would draw little attention from others. Most would assume he was hired muscle, a bounty hunter or a mercenary. The thought was ironic, for as a Mandalorian, he had done a few jobs to accumulate credits for his Clan. Not only that, but an old contact, a Toydarian named Leto, owned a Cantina not far from here- Yusanis's destination. This Toydarian had him work as a bouncer and enforcer, keeping the peace in his shithole of a bar and making sure those that owed him paid their debts.
Yusanis wasn't proud of those sleazy jobs, but at the time, the credits were needed. The last job had not been a good one, and he was sure Leto was going to love seeing him after all these years. The Cantina was on the corner of a particularly bad part of the sector, next to the Red Light district. A flashing green and red neon sign rested above the double doors to the bar, saying in large, blinding letters, THE WATERHOLE. A new bouncer stood outside, a large human male ,armed with a electrostaff and pistol, that was all muscle. There was a line to get in, and loud music blasted from inside. Rain was coming down, drenching those waiting, but there was a small roof that jutted out from the wall to cover the doors and the bouncer.
Walking to the front of the line, the bouncer activated his staff and held it in front of the Sith. "Get to the back of the line, no exceptions." Yusanis leaned forward, and whispered something close to the man so as no one else could hear. The bouncer straightened up, and pushed the doors open for Yusanis. The Sith walked in, ducking his head only slightly as the doors were only 6 feet tall. As he entered, he heard groans and complaints from those outside, but he paid little mind.
The Cantina was crowded. There were dancers on stage, smoke in the air, music blasting his hearing, and the smell of sweat, sex, and booze permeated his mask. At the bar, the bartender was working with two service droids to dish out drinks at lightning speed. The bartender was a Toydarian- Leto himself. The Sith brushed past the drunk and high occupants of the building, even having to push a rather friendly human woman off of him, to make it to the barkeep. There was a rather tall and slender Rodian at the counter, talking with friends, obviously wasted. Yusanis shoved the Rodian out of the way, knocking him over and making him spill his drink on to his shirt.
The Rodian began to yell in Huttese, and reached to pull out his blaster when he finally stood. Yusanis pulled out his own, held it level with the counter, and pulled the trigger without looking, the bolt burning into the Rodian's stomach. He collapsed with a final scream of agony, and the music stopped. People stopped their festivities and a few bouncers from the corners of the room made their way towards Yusanis. Leto was flapping his wings in annoyance and said, "No one starts trouble in my cantina, get out!" He pointed to the door, as if that would make him leave.
Yusanis said, "Oh, now, why would you do that to an old friend? It's your old pal Yusanis, come to pay you a visit." There was enough venom in that last sentence to kill a rancor, but it had it's intended effect. The Toydarian froze, still in air, before calling off his boys. The bouncers stayed close, but did not move to take out the Sith. A good eight feet still separated the bouncers and the Acolyte, but that would matter little. The music came back, and people went right back to having fun in their sins, minus the friends of the Rodian. They ran out as if the world was ending.
"Y-Yusanis! Buddy! I missed you, u-uh, I thought-" The Toydarian stuttered, fearful and no longer making up drinks for those at the bar. In fact, there was now a bubble of vacancy surrounding the two.
"That I was dead? I nearly was- after you sold me out to the Hutts." Leto, after he was due to pay Yusanis a rather large sum of credits, turned the former slave in to the Hutts, reporting him to be an escape slave- which was true. A fellow Mandalorian who had too much to drink let it slip one night, and Leto had looked to collect once the contract expired rather than pay Yusanis his share. Once the Mandalorian's discovered what was going on, they came in and rescued Yusanis before he could be taken, and together they had fled the system.
"L-Look, it was business. I mean, I have to make some money, r-right? You under-"
"Cut the crap, I'm here for answers, and if you say one thing or make one move I don't like, I'll gut you here and now. Before you say anything, ask yourself this, do I look like someone who fears your buddies, or even the Hutts? Do I look like a man with anything to lose?"
Leto audibly gulped, and said, "W-What do you want to know?"
