Cato Neimoidia, Tarko-se City

It had been some time since Jurya Kelborn had been outside of her own planet cluster. Her personal ship, the Everlast, made a graceful descent towards the cloudy atmosphere of Cato Neimoidia, the Captain a woman Jurya was comfortable with, and their passenger companion, a Neimoidian Senator in his own right. She had been sure to exchange pleasantries during their brief time together, but had not pushed the older Senator into conversation actively.

She had to admit... this was a welcome first for her. Most of the Senators she had met were Human or very, very similar to Human in appearance... but her notes on his culture were limited at best, and his native language was not one she was intimately acquainted to yet. However in this time together she actively studied his language, but now she was prepared to press some questions his way.

And curious to know his reactions.

"Tell me, why do you want your people to join the Republic?" she turned to him from her seat, one leg crossing over the other elegantly, chin propped up by a curled fist. Eyes of hazel were level, calm, and open to engagement. Surely, if their endeavors could be successful, she too could be successful in bringing her own people into the fold.

It couldn't hurt to try, anyhow, and show that her people were willing for a chance in democracy.

She was dressed simply in a rust-red dress and darker overlapping robe of light synthweave, dark brown hair pulled into a simple updo. For décor, it was simply a pair of gold hoops and bangles, with a decorative black belt around her waist. Not the most overstated outfit, but it would do, and such colors suited her better anyways.

"If you don't mind my inquiries, of course."

And while they had a little time, she would capitulate on that.

It was just a small jump from Neimoidia to Cato Neimoidia. A trip he could have done on his own. But the old senator was caught off guard by Jurya's offer to use her own personal craft to take the both of them there. Now that was a pleasant surprise, one that Muith thought would have been rude to turn down. So he accepted the offer.

While the other senator was perhaps full of energy, more than what he has for sure, and possibly wanted to have a conversation with the old Neiomoidian. Muith was fairly quiet during the trip. Perhaps because he felt relaxed in the peaceful atmosphere of the ship.

But in the end the Kelborn started up a conversation anyways. Muith didn't mind it at all actually. Looking to the younger senator he was quiet for a minute or two, "I am sure you and your people are familiar with being suppressed. My people had been suppressed and mistreated for far longer than I have been alive. During that time either my people have forgotten that they have a voice.. Or simply gave up on trying to speak about their views on things happening after falling on nothing but deaf ears." Muith paused for a second, "I hope that by my people joining the Republic that they will realize that now they can speak and be heard. Tell the everyone in the Galaxy the crimes that were committed and with it prevent another Empire from rising up." Muith looked to the woman, "Forgive me if my explanation is a bit vague. No one has asked me anything like that before." He quickly added when he felt that his reasons may have been a bit vague. No one has ever asked him a question like or close to what Jurya asked him.

He looked from his hands to the woman, "What are your reasons? If I may ask." Muith mentioned, trying to strike up a comversation with the woman.

She nodded once to his mentioning of people being suppressed... she remembered, all too well as a matter of fact, the conquering of her people at the hands of the Mandalorians. She listened patiently, nodding along some more to what he was saying, deliberately allowing him to talk it out before giving an answer.

"I was intern to the Hapan Justice Courts when Raz Solus and her people took my planet." Her tone was deliberately kept calm and noncommittal, head tilting slightly. "Before that, we were simply a planet that was loosely permitted to govern ourselves.. but without real freedom." Her eyes met his squarely. "But my people were never outright abused by the Mandalorians; in fact, the vast majority of us are proud residents. But we, too, want our voices to be heard, and I want to fight for my people no matter what the cost. I cannot fight," she stated wryly, the small smile fading slightly. "At least, not the way my people have, but I can fight in the galactic stand for my people to be heard too."

She glanced out one viewport for a moment, then the smile returned. "I too am here to prevent another Sith Empire," she agreed, shifting slightly. "And to make sure those that started the war never have the chance to start another one."

Soon, her ship was powered down and touched gently upon a landing pad designated specifically for them; she languidly stood when her Captain gave a quick, "we've arrived, madam, sir,", pulling out her datapad as she did. "I do not know much about your culture, admittedly," she addressed him, her features neutral once more, but eyes assessing. "but I hope that this is the first step forward for us both to achieve what we know is best for our people. Now... anything I should be forewarned about your culture, or protocol, before going ahead?" She smiled engagingly, putting the tablet away after quickly assessing that there was no news nor new messages.

Now, even though she was tall for a Hapan female, she still had to tilt her head up to face him, as their guide could be seen striding towards the landing pad. The ramp was lowered, and cool air from the bridge-city's cloudy atmosphere swirled in. Hopefully they could get through this without any incidents... and from what they had been informed, there was an ally within the council. Then again, even with her short years she knew to expect nothing to go wrong was a vain and foolish hope.

Time to go and face the music.

Muith listened to the young senator. So she too knows what he and his people have been through. While two experiences do differ. But even then the two senators have an understanding of each other.

Hopefully this will serve to help them work together during this negotiation the two will be participating in. When they arrive at Cato Neimoidia.

As to which the news that they had arrived was passed onto the two. Muith stood up as soon as the news came to them. Looking to Jurya he noted the fact she doesn't know much about his culture. It honestly does not surprise him.

"There are a few things you should know. Be careful with how you speak. Do not yell or raise your voice. Also.. Do not make threats either. Either of those two will damage or completely ruin the results of the negotiations. At least what we are hoping to gain." He will begin as the tall humanoid made his way towards the boarding ramp, welcoming the cool breeze, "Secondly, no violence. I am sure you have heard some things about Neimoidians.. But really we are peaceful and do not condone violence. But if forced to we do fight. But show violence during our mission and I can guarantee that the negotiations will cease." Pausing for a second he came to a stop when he stepped off the boarding ramp, "And finally be careful. It will not be uncommon for those in the council to be the.. Greedy sort looking for their own gain." While it is true that there is, supposedly, an ally in the council. They must still be wary. Even this ally may be more so looking out mainly for himself.

That should be enough for Jurya to know for now. Of course she is free to ask questions.
