So I had a character idea...

Basically he sorta falls in the "Mad scientist" category, experimenting on people who volunteer, (or get 'volunteered' as I'll post occasional bounties for new subjects.) Experiments will range from harmless medicine testing to highly volatile biochemical experiments. He will also preform normal medical practices, like surgeries etc, for a fee. Eventually I'll have enough experiments completed I will open up an 'upgrades' function where (you all's characters) can get neural implants, cybernetics etc. Does any of those concepts sound like they'll get used? I'm sure the bounties will to some extent but what of the other stuff?

Thing is you can make the character, but he won't get to do much. You'll have a few people at the beginning, but after that you'll lose use for him and he'll just sit there until you decide to retire him. Unless you have him as part of a faction he won't really last. And most stuff like implants and surgeries are performed by NPCs. So your mad scientist would have to be doing tons of subversive experiments.

also note too that some things done may require tech write ups or vetting by others because of potential problems that can arise- Not saying its a bad idea at all however one that may take atleast some time into thinking out exactly what your doing and why

I like it! They're right that most of the time this type of thing seems to be hard to sustain and there'd be a lot of write-ups and vetting (though some people like that sort of thing). But you could join a faction or two and still work on the side in this manner. You could even join a main faction, though an indie would probably fit better. I would be interested in mooching off your tech write-ups. And it's always more fun to rp with a PC than an NPC. But they are right.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm aware of the work I'll need to put into it, which is my goal so I don't get bored and slack off or RPing again, I think it'll be fun!

Try the Imperium. We could always use more non-military types. Heck, Weiss could hire him for Project Saligia.
