An ambitious Sith alchemist named Wro stole a Nightwing sample from Father's Dream, the laboratory of Thanatos. He has attempted to replicate Thanatos' work in order to steal the credit for the weaponization of Nightwing. However, the situation has turned deadly. The virus is now loose. The colony is plagued with zombies. A survivor, Dr. Carmack, sent a distress signal, notifying the Imperium of the situation. Deal with the zombies and, if necessary, Wro; if possible, rescue Dr. Carmack.

Ysamor took the first steps off the shuttle on the world known as Yavin 9. The moon was full of luxurious plant life and creatures that roamed the forest. It had been a long time since he stepped off the dusty sands of Korriban. The atmosphere was just as bad. It was humid and moist. Enough to make him sigh deeply, the weather just didn't seem like his kind of weather. He started to move away from the ship and quickly glanced around the area. Everything was quiet other than a light breeze which bent the trees ever so slightly. The quicker they finished this mission, the quicker he could head back to Korriban.

He waited till one of his cohorts exited off the ship. To stand out here in this mess of a weather did not suit him at all. This mission had to be pretty important for him to take a break from his training. He recited the holo message in his head, '...if possible, rescue Dr. Carmack.' For all this, he rather have killed him than go through the trouble in rescuing him. The Sith wouldn't even really care what he did. Just that the mission was completed. The passing time felt like it was being wasted trying to save a poor wretch. Though, he wasn't totally ungrateful. It would not prove totally worthless. At least he got to kill something and clear out these 'zombies'. What ever that was.

Ivaris stepped off the shuttle and took a deep breath, filling her lungs with the humid, green-smelling air. It lacked the sharp bite of Ziost's bitter winds that froze her insides, and Korriban's still, unforgiving heat that baked her insides. Yavin 9 had a different sort of energy than either of those planets as well, teeming with life instead of being a desolate wasteland. It was harsh, but of a different sort of struggle for survival. Instead of against the elements, it was against other organisms; the best kind of chaos and competition.

"The humidity enough for ya?" she asked in jest, sensing her companion's discomfort. "Beats the dry heat any day, in my book."

Sobering quickly, she went through a mental run-down of their mission. Sith alchemist Wro stole a copy of a virus named Nightwing to try to gain credit for it. Then he copied it, but the virus got loose and spread to the colony. A man named Dr. Carmack sent out a distress signal a few days prior, informing the Imperium of his plight. Now it was up to the two acolytes to rescue him and possibly deal with Wro, as well as kill the infected-turned-zombies. They were instructed to set their comlinks to the same channel he used to contact the Imperium, making their chances of staying in touch with the doctor much more likely.

The colony itself lay perhaps a kilometer from the landing sight, down a path that appeared to be well-traveled. Assuming the other would follow, she began walking at a cautious pace, hand on one of her lightsabers and eyes scanning for any unusual phenomena.

"I guess you're right about the dry heat. Korriban is much worst."

He started to follow the acolyte about a couple of meters behind. Worrying about the heat wasn't going to make it go away. The mission needed to get done above all else. He decided to think about this as a small vacation. Removing his hood, he took in a deep breath and exhaled. This was a pretty nice place. Not letting his guard down, he reached pulled out his double bladed training saber from his lower back. It wasn't strong enough to kill somebody, but do enough damage in the right hands. Fear was not apart of his personality, but he felt pretty strong. The dark side felt like it was pulsing. They must be getting close to the colony.

The trek down the well-traveled path was largely uneventful, and Ivaris began to suspect that either nothing was wrong, or the worst had happened. No screams, no cries for help, not even moans from those that lay dying.

Reaching the compound, the two acolytes were greeted with sights of an [urhttp://img.xooimage.com/files97/a/f/9/endorbunker-rotj-426aa66.png]entrance[/url] in the trees. Her hand grasped her lightsaber but didn’t switch it on, wary of any civilians that might be in the immediate area once they got inside. But seeing as how none but Dr.Carmak sent a distress signal…. in all chances then it was unlikely anyone else was free of infection from the virus. The information they had received on this virus, Nightwing, was scant. All they knew was it was a killer, it reanimated bodies to things like bipedal Rakghouls, and infection was spread through bites or exchange of bodily fluids.

She walked up to the closed bunker doors and glanced at the control panel on the side of the wall. It was broken and charred, as if someone had shot it to keep it from operating, so as to effectively keep the doors magnetically locked shut. If they were to enter the compound, they’d have to cut it open with a lightsaber. Ivaris ignited hers and shoved the blade hilt-deep in the doors, then began to slowly cut in a circular motion. After a minute the circular section fell away, leaving a hole and a view inside.

What could be seen would leave those with weaker stomach constitution likely heaving up their last meal. About ten wandering corpses shuffled about, clad in imperial soldier’s gear and civilians' lab suits and white lab coats. Hearing the noise of the metal plate hit the duracrete floor, they shuffled around and looked at the intruders. Then they began to run.

“We’ll have to dispatch them all!” she shouted as she launched herself forward, seeing as there was no real way to sneak past them. Perhaps there would have been, but she didn’t bother to find out. The two of them could finish off the zombies in no time, right?

They soon had arrived at the bunker. Looking around to check their surroundings, he couldn't see any living beings. He put back his training saberstaff back on his back and reached for his electrostafff. This must be one kriffing thing they were dealing with. The colonist must have gathered in the bunker, but it was a little quiet...too quiet. Not even the sight of animals came into view. People didn't just get up and disappear without a reason. There had to be something pretty convincing to lock themselves away.

As they gotten closer to the bunker, the elder of the two acolytes ignited her lightsaber and began to breach the doors. Ysamor looked at the control panel and noticed that it was shot. 'This could be a set up,' he thought. Without further ado, he watched his fellow acolyte's back as she continued to cut through the metal doors. A loud clank erupted from the large piece of the door hitting what sounded like duracrete after some time had passed. A moaning sound echoed from the bunker and caused him to turn and look through the artificial opening. Bodies began to charge toward the now opened doors.

“We’ll have to dispatch them all!” she exclaimed.

"You don't have to tell me twice." he responded.

He quickly jumped through the hole first and ignited his electrostaff. It surged to life with a loud buzzing sound. Using telekinesis, he changed the settings on it from shock to deadly charge. A couple of them rushed him like mad akk dogs. His electrostaff was flourished in his hands to the right side of his body and struck one with in the chest. It started to shake a little and quickly charred the things flesh, but it still kept moving. Summoning his hate within his left leg, he kicked the other one, which was too close for comfort, and launched it toward a couple of the others. He then did a double strike and punctured the things skull rendering it useless.

"This is pretty fun!" he laughed hysterically launching another strike at one that had on imperial armor.

Ivaris took a wild swing at the lumbering zombies, driving them back and scorching the flesh of their rotting chests with her lightsaber. One, two, three, begin to crowd up closer to her, intent on eating her. Well, that wouldn't happen. Holding a blade in her right hand, she attacked horizontally from left to right, severing the heads of two former civilians. She jumped back and grabbed her other lightsaber, switching it on as last one ran closer. Bounding to the right, she ducked as one reached for her and cut upwards with her right blade, driving it back. Then she stepped forward, rising and holding her blades scissored. In one motion she whipped her blades apart and severed its head.

As its body fell, she quickly looked around in case there were anymore. They're weren't in the immediate area, assuming her companion defeated the ones he was fighting.

Their comlinks suddenly chimed. A voice began to speak, one filled with caution and fear.

“This is the Doctor! I've been holed up here in the security room for days now. I can see you on the holofeed. The room is located at the center of the building, through three more sets of magnetically-sealed blast doors that you'll have to cut through with lightsabers, or some type of explosive. Be careful! The zombies are alerted by noise. Additionally, I found out back in testing before the outbreak that the virus has no cure; furthermore it is transmitted through bite or scratch, or sharing bodily fluids, even blood. The corpse only stops 'living' if the brain suffers enough damage, or is severed from the body.”

Ivaris held her comlink up to her ear to listen as he talked. “Yes, we're the rescue team, or as much as one as you're going to get. Listen-- do you know what happened to Wo, the man that caused this outbreak when he tried to steal the virus?”

There was a long pause before the man answered. “I am not entirely sure what happened to Wo. I am certain he ensured his own escape, but if not then he is probably alive somewhere in the jungle surrounding the compound. Although alchemist, he is still a trained Sith, and fully able to defend himself from lumbering, clumsy corpses such as these.”

As the both of them dispatched most of the zombies in the corridor, there cominks started to go off. It was the doctor. The doctor started to talk, but the rest of the zombies were keeping the most of Ysamor's attention. The smell was bad. He was pretty sure that bodies usually started to decompose after a couple of days. The virus must have been somehow preserving them in that current condition. Too many things going around that were distracting to him. Old blood started marinated the floors with the stench of death. This would most certainly be the last time he was taking on any missions that concerned viruses.

After the last two were downed, he turned to his comlink and responded back to the doctor at the end of the the lengthy message. "Your life better be worth it because I'm ready to drive my electrostaff through your skull. I'm pretty sure we figured out how to kill them, but thanks anyways," ending the com chatter calmly.

Looking over to Ivaris, he raises an eyebrow prepared to ask a question, "So, what are we doing from here. These things are starting to get on my nerves."

“We'll just charge through!” she said confidently, driving her fist into her palm. That was her first reaction to any problem, roll with the punches and take things as they come. Yet most of her problems had less to risk, and a wider margin for error. Fighting zombies was a different matter, for if her or her companion were infected, it would all be over. Additionally, there was a chance there would be more zombies in the next few rooms than they just faced.

'And our endurance will only last for so long.'

“Doctor, how many zombies are in the next few rooms? Anything else you can tell us?”

A few seconds passed. “Of course. Firstly, the security room is a straight shot down three corridors, separated by blast doors a meter thick. It looks like corridor one is filled the most, with I am guessing…eight or so zombies. The second has twelve, soldiers, formerly. Unfortunately, the security feed for the third section has been damaged, leaving only static on my end. Therefore leaving me with no way to tell how many there may be.”

“Is there any other way to get to where you are at? Maybe come in from the outside?”

“Impossible. Currently we are below ground, so if you would like to dig several meters down, you may, but I advise against it. And I don't think you brought shovels, did you?”

Ivaris didn't bother answering that question, ignoring the doctor and turning to the male acolyte. “You ready? As soon as I cut through that door, they'll be on us. Should we pick them off as they come through the opening, or just charge in? I'm fine either way, but once I start cutting the next blast door, they'll know we're here."

Ysamor really started to loathe this mission. He was using energy that he wasn't sure how much longer he could hold up. The doctor must have been really important for the Imperium to send them to such a place. Rolling his eyes as the doctor said about how many of these things walked around down here. His patience was surely wearing pretty thin and he was focusing on his anger to give him fuel. The other acolyte turned to him and said, “You ready? As soon as I cut through that door, they'll be on us. Should we pick them off as they come through the opening, or just charge in? I'm fine either way, but once I start cutting the next blast door, they'll know we're here."

He nodded his head and waited a quick moment before he would respond. The best thing that he could think of would be to pick off the creatures as they attempted to come through the opening.

"Yeah, I'm ready. We need not to waste more energy than we need to. Let's just pick off these flesh munchers as they try to get through the opening. The doctor was fine before we got here and he'll be alright if we take our time. This missions is on our time is it not? I'll be ready with my electrostaff to give you cover."

((OOC: I apologize for the wait.))

“Ready? Let's roll!” she said as she switched on her lightsaber and thrust it hilt deep into the blast door. After she cut in a circular motion, the cut portion fell away inside. If the sizzling noises didn't grab the attention of the zombies, the clang! of the metal hitting the floor certainly did. They began shambling toward the opening, and none it seemed had the sense to duck and step over to get through. The first one fell and slowly crawled out with great effort.

Meanwhile, as soon as she was done cutting, took a few steps back for safety's sake. Her lightsaber was held in her right hand, blade still ignited and burning red. She took a lunge at the first zombie that entered the adjoining chamber, ducking to avoid its flailing arms and snapping maws. The blade of her weapon sank hilt-deep into its chest, impaling it. It kept moving, unaffected by the wound. Realizing quickly her mistake of assuming it a living target, she had to shift her body to the side and step around to it's back with breakneck speed, then use her backup lightsaber to impale its head. The first lightsaber uningnited itself as the corpse fell on top if it.

Heart pounding, she made a disgusted face. She'd have to pry then thing out from under it, once this fiasco was over.

Whirling around, she lunged for the third zombie, as while she was busy with the first, another had crawled through at her companion with the electrostaff.

“All yours!”
