Sith discrimination in the Jedi Army

What sort of treatment can I expect my character to receive as a Red Sith child being brought up and trained in the Jedi Order? I formulated a plausible reason as to how she was brought to the Order and allowed to be trained, but I'd imagine with this timeline's view on the dark side and how the Red Sith can be the epitome of its corruption, she may experience quite a bit of prejudice and discrimination. Would that potentially interfere with her training? Like is it possible to believe that some masters may neglect her or even delay her training so that perhaps she was held back? The character is going to be a Jedi Padawan (initiate) towards the end of her training so she would have proper training under the tutelage of an individual master that perhaps won't judge her, but what about before?

Not with the jedi anymore, but just with the with species being what is it fear or ignorant prejudices I'd say probably. It wouldn't interfere with training, racism and things like that can be more akin to the sith empire in a way, but just on a social level I'd imagine she wouldn't be making too many close friends given that she's a sith.

Right, but given the Jedi's current crusade and their righteous view against all things dark side, I would imagine that they may even be some masters or knights that would frown upon or oppose the idea of a sith being trained among them. I don't envision them beating her or anything, but I was thinking they would make her lessons harder to learn and as a result, she may fall behind her peers in terms of knowledge and skill. I'm not saying all masters would do this, but i'm wondering if there could be a few that would be like this and if so, whether this sort of treatment to a youngling would be punishable or ignored in this current timeline. This is all for backstory reasons, not so much current RP.

In lieu of everything, Jedi are still mortal and as such are imperfect. Will they go on a pogrom to destroy her... No, but there could be some individuals that cannot help but feel such prejudice and may act upon it. Unless they are the epitome of the Lightside it is possible, and given the war and how combat changes people, I would say its more than feasible

The easiest way to find out how she'd be received is to ask those with active Jedi. From my own Jedi's point of view, he'd be more fascinated that there even was a Sith species, as he currently does not know of their existence.

How he'd feel toward her in the active sense depends on how she came into the order. If she was a recent enemy agent, then my Jedi would be as suspicious of her as he would any Sith that claimed to have repented. If she's been part of the order for many years, he wouldn't care less what her species was.

Bigotry and prejudice are very difficult to reconcile within Jedi dogma, as it goes against the Jedi's own teachings of equality, valuing life, redemption and enlightenment. Further still, given that Jedi do indeed, even if initially wary, accept redeemed Sith into their ranks, I can't imagine why any Jedi would be resentful simply due to her species.

IMO, the odds of prejudice be manifest would be more likely the lower on the totem pole you go, with the less-taught Jedi potentially producing those traits, perhaps Padawans or young knights. Senior Jedi Knights and Masters I would never expect to exhibit or harbor such feelings. But again, that's my take

That is helpful actually. Her father was a unimpressive sith acolyte basically two steps from death or enslavement while her mother was a human slave. Due to his low status and awareness of his own self worth, he was perhaps more humble than most red sith would be, so when his daughter was born he up and fled with her, fearing reprocussions of reproducing with a slave for both him and his daughter.
Upon fleeing, he traveled to Republic space. His only plan was to perhaps speak with someone from the Jedi and turn himself in, exchanging information for protecting his daughter. But when a Jedi confronted him, negotiation was the last thing on the Jedi's mind and he ended up slaying the pathetic sith without much of an effort. It wasn't until the Jedi saw the sith infant that he realized what was going on. Filled with shame and guilt, the Jedi took my character back with him to the Order where she would be raised by the Jedi and then later trained to be one.

That's sort of the basis I have for the backstory, excluding some details. Since I will be RPing her as a Padawan (initiate), her backstory doesn't need to be too extensive, but I was just trying to get an idea of what to expect for her childhood and training. She will be making the conscious choice to join the Army with a chip on her shoulder in this battle between the light and the dark.

Any feedback on this so far?

I'll say this from how my Jedi's point of view, he wouldn't really care. And I think my perception of the Jedi is most would feel the same. As for the Jedi who killed your character's father, pretty sure if a proper investigation had taken place he would have been kicked out of the Order or at the very least heavily reprimanded.

Hm... I guess I got a different idea of how things are in this timeline. I haven't RP'd yet, but I got the impression that there were a lot of "zealot crusaders" in the Army this timeline and that killing a Sith outright was encouraged in their quest to vanquish all things dark side. I may have to tweak the backstory a little bit then.

If I was you I'd not listen to what people tell you about the Jedi Order. Instead look for people you can maybe play this out with to some degree. Find the players with chars that would be in some way opposed to your Sith being in the Jedi. Then all you need to do is make it happen.

On the subject of the character's backstory, is it possible to allow her father to be taken captive by the Jedi Army after turning himself in? In exchange for information on the Sith, the Jedi would agree to provide sanctuary for his child. The reason why I ask is the "providing information about the sith," part. I don't know what the forum's rules are on this sort of thing, but my character's father wouldn't have any damning information to give so it wouldn't really be metagaming.

The alternative is to either have the Jedi kill him off and then discover my character or have him be assassinated by a bounty hunter for fleeing Korriban.
