Name: Bernard de Ridefort
Age: somewhere in his eary to mid fifties
Height: easily seven feet tall
Weight: around 16 stone. Almost pure muscle
Hair: very pale blonde
Skin: Caucasian
Eyes: A pale, piercing blue
Distinguishing features: his face is covered in several large scars. Old scars.
Dominant hand: Right. However, he is adept with either, and capable of using both hands effectively in a fight.
Force sensitive: no
Strength: a very strong man. Understandable, considering he’s spent his entire life fighting
Dexterity: high. He has to be able to move fast to fight well. He’s flexible and agile. Less so when armoured.
Constitution: Very high. The scars that cover his body are testament to his ability to survive. He doesn’t stay down for long…
Wisdom: He’s battle wise. He couldn’t (now would he) run a company, but he knows what an enemy will think before he has.
Intelligence: Fairly high. He isn’t stupid by a long shot, but he is no way near a genius.
Charisma: not the worlds best speaker. He will say what needs to be said, in the fewest syllables possible. Never minces his words.
Skills: an excellent tactician, and a very good rider. He’s adept at almost every form of combat (though he has never fired a firearm in his life.) He can pilot a ship, and can speak a few languages.
Strengths/weaknesses: He is shrewd and clever, and will never make the same mistake twice. He’s an excellent fighter, and could be a powerful figure in less violent ways, if his personality wasn’t so ill suited for it. He cannot shoot a gun straight, nor could he hope to fix anything that isn’t a weapon, or that isn’t absolutely crucial to his continued survival.
Personality: A determined, hardened and scarred man (both physically and mentally). He is naturally angry, as he has no reason to be otherwise. He does not believe in destiny, or fate. He exists purely in the moment, and lives to live. An accurate description of this man would be dead inside.
Combat forms: A master of mounted combat, as well as a more than adept duellist, and a more than decent fist fighter. He’s a trained, lifelong soldier.
Ship: What it is is not important. Suffice to say, he has one.
Pets: To call his steed a pet would do it an injustice. Bernard’s mount is named Longuinius, and has borne him into battle for over twenty years now. Bernard hand raised the creature, and is the closest thing he has to a companion. He would not be pleased to see it die, though sad would be an overstatement.
Gear: He will almost always have a selection of the following on his person;
• Lance
• Bastard sword and matched poinard
• Pair of short swords
• A wide and varying selection of knives.
• A shield, reinforced with various alloys.
Bernard will never be caught far from his armour, if he isn’t in it. It resembles archaic plate mail, with etchings and engraving, as well as faded golden filigree. The armour itself is actually surprisingly resilient, and can actually stand up to a few blaster shots, before allowing them to penetrate the armour itself.
He will also be accompanied by Longuinius, though a steed doesn’t exactly constitute gear.
History: Very little is known about Bernard, other than the fact that he has an arch-nemesis, a man he spends a lot of time attempting to stop. His gritty sense of realism often making their oft brief encounters absurd in his eyes, and just plain mad to others.
It is unknown where he came from, or how he got to be where he is today. Or where Longuinius came from. All anyone can say for sure is that they do exist. And they're annoyed.
