BIOGRAPHY
When the Exiles came to Andara, they met little resistence and the planet quickly become a staging ground for the members and monstrosities of the Exile's army. However, it did not take long for a number of discontented natives to organise themselves into a quasi-paramilitary force. Known as the Andaran Liberation Army (ALA), they waged a brutal guerrilla war against the occupying Exiles. They received support from some members of the Jedi Order, whilst others refused due to the ALA's tactics.
Unfortunately for the NLA, the Exile's were better equipped and had greater numbers, even with Jedi help, they were eventually defeated and the members rounded up where upon they were summarily executed or enslaved. Two of those members were Malo and Naruna Lo-Taren. Before they were arrested, they were able to use their contacts to smuggle their son, Silas, off Andara via a transport ship bound for Republic-controlled space. Silas was taken in by the Jedi as a refugee and upon the discovery of his Force sensitivity, he was given formal training.
After being granted the rank of Knight, although this was out of necessity due to the Jedi's falling numbers more than anything else, Silas became more actively involved in the war effort. He volunteered for missions and battles, having been raised on stories of the NLA and his parents by Jedi who were involved in the short-lived rebellion, he wanted nothing more than to strike at those who had invaded his homeworld and robbed him of not only his childhood, but also his family.
The Tragedy of Ilum affected many different Jedi in different ways. For Silas, it was a catalyst for his hatred of the Exiles and it solidified his belief that the war would never be over until every last one of them was killed or brought to justice, not for him at least. In the months after the event, when the Jedi fragmented into different factions, Silas followed those who call themselves Shadows.

PERSONALITY & ABILITIES
On the surface, Silas appears to be a well-adjusted individual. He is self-confident, quick-witted and somewhat cocky, some would call it the arrogance of youth. But behind this carefully crafted image of himself lies the psyche of a broken, angry young man who was taken from his home and family and thrust into a war he didn't ask or want to be part of. He is in a constant state of conflict with himself, trapped between the Jedi Code and the desire for vengeance raging within him.
Silas is a warrior through and through, he is capable in the practical uses of the Force, but his talent is raw and by no means his strength. As a member of the Jedi Shadows, he is often working covertly or at least trying to maintain a low-profile and as such, has taught himself to use other weapons to become less reliant on his lightsaber, which is a tell-tale sign of his status as a Jedi.
