Prelude
Life is brutal, but so am I.
His parents often found him running away in the middle of the night, only to find him return days later with new scratches, bruises and tales of the adventures and mischief. As Sigtryggr grew, so did his ambition. As time went by, the petty thievery just to feed his belly wasn't cutting it any more. Deep down, he knew his destiny lay in the stars and the salvation to his problem just so happened to land literally in front of him.
Sigtryggr encountered a small band of pirates that operated out of the outer rim in run down, busted up but reliable starships who looking for able bodies to join them. Sigtryggr quickly learned the fundamental rules of the galaxy from these early days, one - the strong dominate the weak, two - life isn't fair and three - live a full life. These tenets served him well and the group went on to be quite successful for their size, plundering then drinking away the plunder, then plundering some more. His youth, skills as both a fighter and a pilot began to readily highlight in contrast to the ageing leader of their group - Captain Morgan. Unwilling to give up control of the good thing he had going, Morgan attempted to kill Sigtryggr before the latter could do the former in.
Barely escaping with one of the group's Preybird-class starfighters, Sigtryggr sought refuge with someone who would be big and scary enough, that not even Captain Morgan would dare try his luck again....
