Alhazred continued to observe and instruct the Orcalon, though for the most part he was silent.

"Progress" The Nu-Vaal stated simply after a lengthy pause. He had never been in the position of teacher like this before and was unsure the best way to approach it. Yes, Duma was getting frustrated, but in his own experience, that frustration would either be controlled or force a surrender in the padawan. If Duma could not get over his own frustrations, he would not make a very good Jedi

"It is progress. But like I stated, it will take practice to get it down to the point where you can do so without error consistently. And hopefully in time we can find some better hand signs for you to utilize. "

Alhazred began to pick himself up again. "Time that we no longer have at the moment. I've recovered enough and my spawn's time becomes more limited. What you've learned so far will hopefully be enough. For now, focus entirely on just letting the force flow through you and your actions, and to not rely on your blade's crystal. Blast as you must, and if you are unable to form the signs, then simply blast as you normally do, as taxing as it will be. But continue to focus entirely on letting the force flow through you like just now, and we will survive this ordeal."

With that, Alhazred gestured for the padawan to follow him back into the trees. Back towards where the dead were no doubt waiting. As they walked, Alhazred continued to talk about how the two were going to get into the sunken ship.

"Before, I was able to get to the Glass Eye by simply swimming down. Nu-Vaal biology has some advantages. But last time i tried, that Captain froze the water around me, forcing me to focus on generating heat to stay alive. If you hadn't arrived when you did, I'm not sure how much longer I could've lasted.

"This time, I will make a way to the Glass Eye, for the both of us. Such a feat will only be possible with sign casting, but even then, I will need protection. I can't focus on my task and keeping Captain Barnacles or whatever his name is away. You may not have mastered sign casting yet, but I think you will be up to the task of keeping them off of me without injuring the wisps too much. Once inside, we will get to the Tython Table, and complete the ritual and end this nuisance to Dagobah's ecosystem"

Duma listened carefully, it appeared he had done ok despite the setbacks. And even the Jedi Knight mentioned that it wasn't a quick thing. It would take time, so overall it wasn't a bad effort for the first attempt at Sign Casting. Especially when he was told it would take time to reduce the errors consistently and to find some better signs that might suit his big hands. For now though they had to make do.

It appeared that while they had been conducting the exercise, Alhazred had so he recovered enough to continue forwards and rescue the spawn he had left behind. Duma nodded as he was given he next instructions, to rely less on the lightsaber and more upon the Force. To rely only upon it even if it would be quite taxing at times. He allowed a small smile as he was at least give an some praise by arriving in time to save the Jedi Knight from a watery ice grave. Alhazred spoke of using Sign Casting to create a better way to the ship below which was the cause of the chaos surrounding them. The only way to fix it was to go down into the murky depths. He didn't much fancy it, but it had to be done.

More than that, it seemed he was now on guard duty. Protecting the elder Jedi as he made a path for them both.

Again he would face the captain. Captain Barnacles. Only this time he would be ready for him.

"Sounds good. I'll do my best." He said as he prepared to follow the Jedi Knight a and face the captain again, barnacles, hook and all.
