Name: Sietov
Coordinates: M4
Hyperlane: N/A

Climate
Planetwide winters last about a year, while summers last about a year and a half. Precipitation is very common due to turbulent winds in the upper atmosphere and massive oceans.

Terrain
Most of the planet is one massive ocean, with near-inhospitable icecaps and a single supercontinent in one side of the planet. On the other side there are a few unexplored islands with rainforest-like terrain. The main landmass is mostly forested with many cities, although the northeastern area of the continent is largely mountainous, and the southeastern area is largely grassy plains and rivers.

Rotation
Sietov experiences 14 hour days and 10 hour nights during the summer, with the reverse during the winter. This holds no major effect on the population.

Inhabitants
The planet was colonized by humans, although a large groups of Twileks can also be found on the Sietov, as they were formally used as slaves and low wage workers by the old aristocracy. Numerous other species can be found on Sietov as well, however they're not as dominant.

Resources
The northeastern mountains are rich in iron and chromium, and some veins of phrik have been found as well. Similar metal deposits can also be found in numerous underwater caves and mountains all around the planet. The Vast Plains province is also well known for creating food products through advanced agriculture. This large amount of resources has allowed Sietov to become a major export power in the galaxy.

Government
Sietov is home to a Communist government, consisting of multiple layers of councils elected from among the working class; "city" councils, whose leaders make provincial councils, whose leaders choose one amongst themselves to be the government's head executive, or president. The city councils are really councils of seperate sections of massive cities that are contained by provinces; for example, the northwestern province of Vachez contains the "cities" of Old Titan, Nilengrad, Viek, etc. There is mostly a single party, although there are disagreements about how much to open up the planet to the rest of the galaxy. In general, new policy ideas flow upward for approval, although any final decision is voted on the the people, with a 2/3 majority needed to pass. Trials are still overseen by trained judges, however final decisions on guilt and punishment are decided on by randomly selected 30 person juries. The current president is a more liberal Twi'lek named Lazav Vla'Dimir.

Culture
Sietovan culture largely revolves around the ideas proposed by the visionary Nilen Xarm a little over a century ago, while the planet's oppressive monarchy was still in place. While the monarchy imposed high taxes, oppressed workers, and spent their time in a lavish palace, Nilen cast of the shackles of oppression and began to spread his ideas of a society without the monarchy, one where the proletariat and slaves ran their own lives. A society where everybody worked together and money ceased to be an issue, where eveyone was equal and free. As such, the society as a whole looks down on large corporations, monarchies, slavery, and capitalism in general, though Democratic capitalism is deemed somewhat more acceptable. Children are encouraged to join the Unified Young Sietovans League, where they are taught how to be strong contributors to society and future leaders, often performing community service and goods distribution. Honour is very important to Sietovans, who value the good of the society over the good of the individual, though individualism is encouraged for the sake of new ideas to benefit the society. The military is known for being well disciplined and have a strict honour code to never harm oppressed peoples.

Technology
Sietov technology is about as advanced as the rest of the galaxy.

Satellites
Sietov has two small, rocky moons, Ramyk and Yttorsky. Yttorsky is larger than Ramyk, and has a few small bases on it searching for resources due to it having a breathable atmosphere, while Ramyk has little atmosphere and hasn't been explored much.

History
During the galaxy wide war the Jedi and Exiles/Sith waged on each other 500 years ago, a rich but less influential family from Serreno, the Ublyudoks, decided to take advantage of the chaos to colonize a newly discovered planet, which they named Sietov. Over the next 50 years, they established themselves as the absolute monarchs of the planet and brought in Twi'leks as personal slaves, and other humans to work in an extensive mining operation of the planet's extensive natural resources. Shi'ido slaves were rare, and especially prized for their ability to physically adapt to dangerous mining situations, however they were fitted with special shock collars to prevent them from changing form to extensively so as to escape the harsh conditions mining bosses imposed on the immigrating population. Eventually 4 distinct classes emerged; the monarchy and aristocracy, called the Bourgeoisie by the lower classes, the artists, soldier, and merchant middle class which was composed of mostly humans and generally worked for aristocrats, the poor working class, or Proletariats, and the slaves owned by the aristocracy, royal family, and some richer middle class households.

Around 300 years after colonization, the bachelor king Nikolas Ublyudok I, a mildly force sensitive individual, married another force sensitive, the daughter of an aristocratic family in the hopes of establishing the monarchy as biologically superior to the lower classes in light of growing unrest. To further this goal, he introduced the policy of watching and sterilizing all non-aristocratic force sensitives on the planet, leading to the vast majority of the planet's population becoming non force sensitive and a general disdain towards those whom promote themselves as "stronger" because of the force. While this policy impressed the rest of the Bourgeoisie, the middle and lower classes continued to become rowdy, and so a parliament of elected officials was established to pacify them and their concerns. However, it soon became apparent that the Parliament held no true power, and the rich aristocrats would often provide members with large donations to get them elected and promote the aristocrat's agenda.

After a few minor slave revolts and minor reforms over the next century, the middle class found their wages decreasing as former slaves entered the real workforce after slavery's outlaw. Everything came to a head with the rise of the revolutionary leader Nilen Xarm and his Kivlobesh political party during the reign of King Nikolas Ublyudok II. Nikolas II dissolved parliament after Nilen and his party won several seats and began pushing for worker's rights and the eventual establishment of what would become known as a Communist state. After 8 months of planning, impassioned speeches to disgruntled crowds, and a failed attempt on Nilen's life by the Royal Secret Guard, a full scale uprising began with the capture of the Western Ocean Shipyard, where the government built various military ships and vehicles. All over the continent the proletariat and most of the middle class rose up against the aristocracy who'd grown arrogant and overconfident in their wealth, with a significant portion of the government military even defecting to join the new "Red Army". Within a month the capital had been siezed, and after another the remaining monarchy and most of the loyalist forces were eliminated or captured after a large confrontation at the winter palace in the Southern Province.

Nilen Xarm oversaw the reconstruction of the cities and formation of the new Communist government which he headed for 7 years before prematurely dying of a rare blood disease. However, the forward transition was smooth, and to prevent outside interference the government imposed a blockade on their own planet, only letting in approved trade items. Money in general was abolished, with resources being distributed among the people by the people according to need. Free education, healthcare, public transportation, and other social services were quickly passed reforms. People became motivated to work through desire for fulfillment and desire to help the rest of society, which are both taught early on in schooling. Over time overpopulation became a concern, and a policy was instituted to move a third of the population (family wise), chosen randomly, to a new place every 50 years. This has only been used once, and resulted in a new colony on the moon Yttorsky. Currently, the Sietovan government has become more open to outside contact, especially due to rising fear that the tension between the two galactic empires could result in a new oppressive regime of Force sensitives controlling the planet and destroying everything that was so hard to build up. Since the planet uses no money, traded goods are how financial transactions are made with other planets. They are a major exporter of weapons/armour and other raw goods, often trading for the few resources they don't have or more technology.

Intent
As far as I know, no Communist government exists in the Star Wars galaxy, and so I decided I wanted to create a planet where it actually worked as intended. I want to create a unique planet that could provide some really cool opportunities for RP. If there's suitable intrest, I may also create a faction profile for the planet to provide further opportunity for interaction and see what players do with it. This is my first time doing something this big, so I'm open to any changes or specifications that need to be made.

Thanks to @Real Russian for help, feedback, and ideas

@Lord Kyle

Interesting concept, though I'm going to request a couple changes for this to be approved.

1. I would change the names obviously pulled from IRL for this entry, such as calling the people 'Soviets' and the names of the moons and such. You can use words that come from the languages of those cultures just fine, but the actual names from real life should be avoided.

2. There isn't a large society of Shi'ido anywhere in the galaxy outside of their home planet, and that is going to apply here, too. Likewise, the President of this society would need to be changed accordingly along with anything else related to that race.

Everything else looks okay, including the deposit of Phrik on the planet. Once those revisions are done, I'll be able to approve this planet. Just tag me when ready.

@Insalius

I changed some names and removed the mention of Soviets. I kept the Shi'ido, but I did mention that they have a small presence and are much rarer. Hope everything works.

@Insalius I also added a few lines mentioning that Sietov is a major exporter or weapons and raw goods, I hope that doesn't affect anything. Does everything look good or are there still some things you want me to fix?

Sorry for the delay in response, holidays and a cold kept me down for a bit. Anyway, despite the other changes, I'm still going to say that it's a hard no on even the small colony of Shi'ido and the leader of the place being Shi'ido. Everything else is fine now, so if you can make just that last change, this world is fine to go.
