Death Enabled PvP, with General PvP rules applying. No outside interference or ships/vehicles allowed. 48 hour posting rounds. Have fun

Tatooine, Arena known as the “Arena of the Finale”, Sunrise.

Darth Perilius stood inside in silence, standing as the dry wind of Tatooine blew in the coliseum he set up for the duel. He was awaiting his opponent at the edge of the arena, with the Field Marshals entrance being at the opposite end of the arena. Between the entrances, was 40 meters diameter of flat sandy floor. Two pillars stood in the center area of the arena, each being 10 meters from the arena and on the left and right of the entrance, keeping a strong line of sight between the challenger entrances.

Darth Perilius stood within his battle armor; his face being concealed by a mask, two lightsabers on his holster, a pair of quickdraws on the front of his belt, and he brought 3 PL10 Grenades with him as well. He held one of the quickdraws in his left hand as he awaited for Drace Solus to make his expected entrance. Perilius wanted to fight with honor, and was ready to defeat his opponents without tricks. No interferences, no shenanigans, no distractions, just a duel that would give a show for the Galaxy and a place to obtain his vengeance; to prove himself. The Dark Side of the Force saturated the air around him as he felt it concentrate within his right hand, ready to be used in order to strike true.

The stage had been set, and he was ready.

Drace walked alone, armed to the teeth and completely relaxed. This was just another fight. If he died, he'd join the rest of the slain martyrs. If he lived, he'd just rid the Galaxy of one more insect. It was a win/win situation for him, really. Besides, he was completely used to heading into battle, so this was nothing new to him. No nerves, though he did feel a little excited at the prospect of fighting in a televised event.

He strode into the arena wearing his beskar'gam, but he had rubbed war paint on the helmet and on his face underneath, which had recovered from the burns with minimal scarring. He was completely healed, though Markov didn't have to know that. His carbine was on a sling over his shoulder, with the gun itself hanging in front of his chest for easy access. Under his armpit was his Quickdraw, and under its holster was a durasteel knife, just in case. His beskad hung at his side, and all of his grenades and other accessories were tucked into safety somewhere Markov would not be able to see them. He had gotten ready for battle the way others usually get ready for school.

Drace was holding nothing in his hands when he walked out into the open, but every muscle in his body screamed "prepared". He wasn't necessarily tense, just ready to respond to the slightest twitch from his enemy. The Marshal's gun could be in his hands in the blink of an eye.

"You looked fatter on the net," he called out. "Doesn't Victress know that not feeding a dog is animal abuse?" Drace would be doing the Sith a favor putting him out of his misery.

Whether or not he got to speak, Drace would swing into action, grabbing his quickdraw while jetpacking ahead and sideways, aiming for the pillar to his right. He would reach it in about a second and a half, maybe two, which wouldn't give Markov much time to react, but he was purposefully moving diagonally so that aiming a bolt at him would be difficult. The Mandalorian was heavy enough with his armor and gear on that any Force push while he was in the air would be more of a Force nudge, though he was ready to make life as hard for the Sith as possible nevertheless.

The battle had begun.

The Sith Lord continued to House the force within him until after what felt like an eternity. The Field Marshal called upon his name, degrading himself and his former master. He was calm, he felt ready and the moment he threw his insults at the Lord, his body filled with rage and force as his eyes opened and he began to move forward closer to the area as he responded. “At least I don’t work with terrorists... Let’s duel, Marshal. A duel in honor is always the best way to go..” he smirked.

Immediately he saw has his opponent pull out his quickdraw and take flight. The Mandolorian was attempting to not face him like a true warrior. In response to his travel towards the pillar diagonally, the Sith Lord began to make a sprinting beeline for the center of the arena in order to face combat, quickdraw ready in his left hand. In spite to Drace’s travel to the pillar, he concentrated the force within his right hand as he, with great harshness, sent the force out in order to pull him off of his course, and optimally smash him into the pillar. Immediately after doing this action, he’d take cover behind the other pillar. If this were to fail, the Force of the push would at least put the Field Marshal off course or temporarily create resistance against the jetpack. It would also degrade his ability to successfully aim at the Lord. The force flowed through him, ready to be used further against his opponent.

He knew that the Sith would use the Force, so Drace was not shocked to feel something tug him forward. He fought back against the resistance, surprised to see that Perilius sent a single push then bailed. After weathering the brunt of the hit, Drace landed softly on the ground behind the pillar, hidden from the Sith.

But he wouldn't make the first move. There was no need to. He'd let Perilius be the one to make a mistake. Instead, Drace waited, Quickdraw in hand.

Whenever he ran behind the pillar for cover the area began to tense up as his opponent landed with a soft thud out of his sight, with cover in the opposite pillar. They were literal opposites at this moments, but two sides of the same coin. A field marshal for the Mandolorians, and a lord for the Sith. Both had similar plans and similar hopes. Both wanted to prevent their persecution and end the other. Overall, the Mandolorians and Sith both fought with either complete dauntless or utter cowardice, and at the moment both were hiding, but Perilius wasn’t planning to hide forever.

They were both waiting for one to make a move to take advantage of, so instead of leaving his cover and shooting, he’d switch his quickdraw for his saber in his left hand, ignite it, then proceed to use his right hand in order to throw one of his PL10 gernades to the other pillar. If it were to land, then the Marshal’s armor would be severely damaged. Perilius held his lightsaber defensively while he did his, ready to deflect any shots to try to interrupt or shoot him. Whenever he threw the Gernade, he’d go back into cover and then wait for the next move. The force flowed through his right hand strongly and the dark side saturated especially after not being used against his opponent

He wasn't surprised to see the Sith cower behind cover, but Drace knew he couldn't do anything but wait.

He poked his head out of cover carefully just in time to see Perilius throw a grenade and duck back behind his pillar. As the projectile approached, Drace reached out simply and batted it back toward the Sith with the bottom of his fist. It would saily back toward the Lord and explode on arrival, its timer done. The Sith had made a big mistake not cooking it, not that Drace expected anything better from a pampered glowstick-wielding wizard.

Whether or not it successfully hit, Drace would nevertheless remain behind the pillar. The Sith would have no way of seeing the grenade in time to knock it back to him, considering he'd gone back behind cover.

The grenade that was batted back in his direction took a odd reality. Given its time before detonation, it exploded in the middle of its arc, giving no armor damage to neither Sith or Mandalorian. The entire move both pulled was absolutely useless, and the two continued to hide in covers.

Simply, Darth Perilius raises his saber as the force began to concentrate and ran out of cover, making his movement sporadic in order to make it hard to aim a shot at him in the event Drace exited before or during his action. During this as well, he had his lightsaber in a defensive position, ready to defend when necessary. Finally, the force surged in his right hand as he was ready. His end movement would be near the dead center of the arena.

He was ready to meet his opponent face to face.

He heard feet shuffling on the dusty floor of the arena and Drace poked his head out from behind cover in time to see the Sith running from behind the pillar.

He pulled his PIPE out and leveled it on the Lord as he ran. As the Sith was about to reach his destination, Drace fired at the ground in front of him.

The rocket would fly out from the PIPE and toward Markov, who would likely try to dodge it. It would hit the ground in front of him with a blast radius of 7 meters.

Whether or not the blast hit, Drace would load the PIPE up with the final rocket. If Markov avoided the explosion and ran toward him, the Field Marshal was ready.

The Sith Lord had ran for the center indeed, and to his expectations the Field Marshal came out at last. He finally did something as he went to intend to fire his PIPE rocket. The force surged through the Sith Lord as he used the force in order to make him clumsily misfire his rocket, which would cause the rocket to be directed away from him to make it explode in a radius of a different direction. In order to not get caught in the explosion anyway he dashed to the side away from the one the rocket was going.

Another dud in the plan just like Drace did to him. Finally the action was picking up, and most likely the spectators of the event began to finally wake up in suspense and action.

The Sith Lord, rather than making his approach towards Drace directly would make his movements around the field marshal, keeping the same distance overall, but doing this he will be hard to aim at. Using this he’d use the force to mess with the circuitry of his jetpack in order to prevent his avoidance. It would indeed make it hard for the Sith Lord to use the force consistently afterwards, but the force would work in a way that would shut down similar to a droid

The pesky wizard wouldn't let himself get blown to bits just yet, but Drace was patient. His aim was thrown off as he felt his arms jerk, and the rocket flew out of his PIPE, soaring away from Markov and slamming into the pillar he'd been standing behind. The small explosion broke through the rock and caused the pillar to begin falling sideways toward the Sith, chunks of stone careening toward him at the same time, like a great big frag grenade.

Because the tall pillar was holding up a part of the roof of the arena, it was left without any support, and a good bit collapsed in on itself, falling down toward Perilius. The Sith would have to somehow avoid all of the rocks and the pillar falling onto him or risk getting crushed.

Drace had not properly left cover yet, so his jetpack was not very visible. Markov could play with its circuits and overexert himself as long as he wanted because it would take some serious concentration, and the Mandalorian doubted the Sith could afford.

Drace took the second rocket and put it into the PIPE, reloading the launcher. As he saw the man stop to mess with his jetpack, Drace fired. There would be no nudging now because he had already pressed the trigger. The rocket was, again, aimed at the man's feet. The explosion would likely blow his legs off and take him out of the fight, but he wouldn't die.

This would force the Sith to process several things at once. The pillar and rain of rock would be coming in first, followed by Drace's rocket tracking any movement made by the man in his desperate bid to avoid the roof falling onto him.

Meanwhile, the Mandalorian enjoyed the safety of cover behind the second pillar. The entire roof wouldn't collapse in on itself, and having found the load lessened as Markov's side broke down, the arena seemed to be fine after the initial rain.

Darth Perilius had begun his run indeed, yet the rocket he had made go away from him had hit the pillar he used to use cover, creating a collapse sequence that would begin to get closer to him. The arc run around Drace would let him avoid the pillars direct line of fall. The first wave of debris wouldn’t do true damage to his armor, but it would hit it wherever his movement wouldn’t avoid it. As he saw his opponent reload, he took advantage of the fact, switched to his quickdraw in his left hand in a swipe, and fired twice at him, one at his torso and one at his head. By the time he had began to do his circuitry work as planned, the obstruction of the reloading of Drace as well as the audible sea of debris coming behind him cut his concentration, only temporarily damaging his Jetpack. That would mean he’d still have energy left to exert, and now it would be able to recharge for later. In this, he’d continue his run in order to avoid the inevitable shot.

By now, there would be only a semicircle of the arena usable left given the debris and collapsed damage. In this, Perilius would begin moving towards Drace, drawing and igniting a saber into his right in order to close the distance at last. He kept his saber at a defensive position and his quickdraw ready to fire once again if he were to be attacked now..

Drace had loaded up the rocket a good long time ago, right after he had fired the first (8th post). Markov was still drawing his pistol when the projectile hit the ground in front of him, likely sending him flying forward from the momentum of his run and blowing his legs off from the thigh down from the looks of it and the splash of blood. At the same time, the rocks rained down on him from the pillar, the Sith not doing anything to actually dodge them—likely assuming he can shrug them off. Drace was ready to dodge the bolts whether the man would fire or not; all it took was a dash to his left and the bolts would just soar past (both the 2 to his head and the 2 to his torso, along with anything else shot his way).

As the Sith Lord fell, the roof gave way, more rock falling down onto him, covering him in a stony tomb. Drace waited for the avalanche to subside, then slung his PIPE back over his shoulder and drew his Quickdraw, just in case. It was likely the battle was over, with the Sith Lord in critical condition.

OOC: Inadequate (in my opinion) defense for the rocks, as well as a misunderstanding regarding timing have led to several autohits.

Just like his last major fight, it all happened at once, but this time he wasn’t so lucky.

He avoided the rocket but he underestimated the debris severely. The rocks fell and knocked him down, sending a massive cloud of dust as the lower half of his body was crushed by rocks and debris. Excruciating amounts of pain was induced into his body, surging through him like blunt lightning. He’d attempt to keep himself from screaming in agony, he was determined to not let it show lest his adversary find him. He was nearly certain that he’d need to lose his legs from this point.

The galaxy had seen a dust cloud obstruct their view of the fight, making them confused of the outcome. The roars of mandalorian supporters and the disappointment of Sith sympasizers would be certainly rampant if they were to see who was standing. However, while the duel proved a mandalorian victory, it proved vigilance from the Sith, given he had pulled the most offense and pushed down, despite how terrible the outcome went.

Darth Perilius waited for something to take him, wether it be his comrades, the Field Marshal, or the arms of Death himself. Despite his anger and frustration with himself, he was smiling with glee. A fair fight had occurred and he wasn’t going to be a bad sport. If the Field Marshal were to approach him and lift his mask to see his scarred face he’d see the gleeful smile of acceptance.

The force would flow through him, keeping him conscious just long enough to make an attempt to amputate his legs, going through the sheer pain of the rock crushing his legs and attempting to sever them through his still ignited saber, cauterizing the wound. This took the rest of his remaining energy, and he began to lay on his back, falling into the inky blackness of unconsciousness.

“It was... an honor... Marshal.. There is only passion... the force shall break my chains...” he whispered weakly, before he fell unconscious with a smile,
knowing that his pain was fading. Despite his anger towards the mandalorians, despite his self hatred for his defeat, he accepted this failure, and he hoped the force would guide him to survival...

Drace approached the Sith's body, obscured by stone. He lifted a chunk of rock off of him, Perilius' dented mask coming into view. The Sith Lord was definitely out of the fight.

Drace turned to the empty stands, drones zooming in closer to capture the shot. He lifted both arms. "Oya!" he roared, his voice echoing out through the arena on Tatooine. Not much had happened here today, and it likely changed nothing about the tide of the war, but goddamn it felt good.

The Field Marshal would later get the rocks off Perilius and load him onto his ship, amused by the fact that the man had felt the need to amputate himself in the final moments of the fight. He would need the man later on. Maybe he was more than met the eye and he actually was worth interrogating.

Probably not.
