Should Cheese Cake really be called Cheese Pie?

In my opinion, the name should be officially changed to Cheese Pie. I don't understand what makes it a cake. It is of the same consistency of pie and does not have frosting/icing. It would be like calling it Pumpkin Pie Pumpkin Cake. Please, give me your opinions and be sure to tell why you've chosen your answer.

Uh...America would have gotten discovered one way or another. You also seem to be forgetting that it was by the hands of people like Colombus that practically every Mesoamerican civilizations were annihilated.

Though meso-american states were destroyed, they survived a lot better down there than they did in the rest of North America and Australia where they were nearly exterminated. In Mexico and further south, there were enough of them that they managed to breed with their conquerers rather than be nearly exterminated by them.

Anyway, they're not Indians. And it's cheesecake, because it actually has more of a cake look to it, if you cut into it. It eats like a pie though, but it doesn't matter. Oh, and nice mentioning of my favourite food of all time.

Anyways, Has anyone ever frozen Cheese before? Its not good, even when thawed out. It crumbles into cubes when you try to shred it. Its annoying...

It must be how they make CHeese Cake... Or Cheese Pie... Both are actualy tasty...

Then again, there diffrent things. CHeese Cake is a desert while Cheese Pie is like pot pie, just with a whole lotta cheese.

Uh, why are you trying to shred cheesecake? You take a fork, and slice out a piece, then eat it... I put my cheesecake in the freezer all the time, and I never have any problems eating it.

I ment a block of cheese like Sharp Chedder. lol If you freeze it, thaw it out completly, then try to shred it, your gonna get more crumbles then you will shreds. lol

And IMO, shreds work better for Cheese Pie then cubes. But i agree with what you say about Cheese Cake.
