  • Nineteen years ago, on the planet Alderaan a boy was born to a happy but low class couple. He had a relatively normal childhood for the first seven years of his life, but then one day a Jedi that was visiting his planet met him and told his parents he was force sensitive. The Jedi convinced the couple that the best course of action would be to take Sylas to train him with the Jedi Order.

Sylas began learning the ways of the Jedi the day that he arrived. He was taught their code, their way of life, what would be expected of him and about their enemies. He was always curious about why the war started, but he was never given a really solid answer. At the age of eleven, he was given a sparring saber and immediately showed promise as a skilled duelist and, to his master’s dismay, it was what he enjoyed most. His master would’ve preferred Sylas to be more of a scholar like himself, but reading and meditating always bored him.

Around the time he had turned eleven, Sylas met a girl named Thena who was around his age, being trained as a Jedi just like him. They were assigned to spar with one another and after that they continued to talk. Most of the other trainees were put off by how serious he acted, but this girl managed to warm up to him. As the years went on, Sylas and Thena grew closer and closer. Which would only make his future more difficult.

As he developed into a teenager, it was clear that he was one of the most skilled apprentices when it came to wielding a lightsaber. He learned how to pilot starfighters and enjoyed that as well, but he tended to neglect his lessons and meditation and sometimes wondered why the Jedi were taught to not use their emotions while fighting. When he sparred, Sylas felt...stronger. At least, it seemed that way. When he went on missions with his master, he wouldn’t hold back on enemies and his master would have to stop him before he took the life of an enemy that didn’t deserve it, then lecturing him about why it was wrong.

When Sylas was eighteen, he heard news that his parents had been killed by a bounty hunter. Apparently their death was caused by collateral damage, but it still angered him nonetheless. Fearing that he would want revenge, his master tried to help him but it only made his problem worse. However, what did calm him down for a time was after he had a long conversation with his best friend, Thena. After hearing reason, he calmed down and continued to train, as much as it pained him.

A few months after that, Sylas felt like he was growing closer to Thena. He felt as though he might even be developing feelings that were inappropriate for Jedi to have. Part of him wanted to push these feelings away, but the other began to embrace them. His master could sense his confliction and he told him to just try meditating, even though it was something he despised. Sylas reluctantly agreed and did as he was told. But as he meditated, the emotions he had been suppressing began to emerge and he convinced himself that best option would be to embrace them.

Sylas gathered as much information as possible on the bounty hunter in the next coming months and was told as soon as he arrived in a cantina on Nar Shaddaa. He left immediately, showing up and murdered the man to get revenge for his parents. Sylas left immediately before the body was found, heading back for Tython. He knew he couldn’t stay there any longer and knew he had thrown away his life with the order, but he had to talk to Thena for at least one last time.

He sent her a message to meet him on the outskirts of the temple and told her what he had done and that he was in love with her. He begged her to join him, not wanting to leave her but she refused, still believing in the ways of the order. Sylas was angry, but he didn’t want to harm her. Instead he told her that one day she would see his way of things and that he would make sure of it. With that he left, never looking back.

Sylas scoured the galaxy for any signs of the Exiles, wanting to learn from them. He had learned all he wanted from the light side and wanted next to none of it. The dark side seemed much more powerful than the light and Sylas wanted nothing more than to embrace it and unlock his true potential. He found a man that claimed he was a part of the Exiles and after displaying his skill, Sylas was brought to the rest of them. He was ready to start a new era of his life...and one day, bring an important piece from his old life back.

  • Sylas stands at a height f 5’11, being slightly above average for most males. He is slightly muscular from all the training he does, but prefers to rely on his agility over his strength. He has light brown eyes and has medium length jet black hair which compliments his black robe that he usually wears, but when he tries to look inconspicuous he wears a black leather jacket.
  • When Sylas was young, he tended to take everything very seriously. However, he also thought he knew what what would be best for himself leading him to be rather stubborn. He could be on the fence about a decision, but once his mind was made up, there was very little people could do to change his mind.

Sylas wanted to do what was right for most of his life, but what he thought was right and what the order thought was right were two different things. He wanted to let emotion dictate his course of action, but was forced to suppress the instinct. Emotions were always something he wanted to embrace and when he finally did, he would never look back. Nowadays, he’s still serious for the most part, but has developed a sarcastic sense of humour and while he tries not to show it most the time, he still tries to do the right thing when he can. As long as it doesn’t prevent him from getting what he wants.
  • -Lightsaber training. Mostly focused on Soresu and Makashi, reserving Makashi for one on one duels.
    -Training in the force
    -Physically strong
    -Quick reflexes
    -Limited pilot training

Axel was born on board a cargo ship to a single mother who was ready to get rid of him the moment she could. While most of the crew hated the idea of having another mouth to feed, their helmsman, a man named Quentin, offered to care for the child and would use his own earnings to cover for the child. The mother readily agreed and the captain let the child stay aboard for as long as they had their helmsman. Without Quentin, the boy would either have to fend for himself or be thrown out if he was of no use.

As soon as he had the mental capacity to follow directions and do simple tasks, Axel was put to work. He was able to get into small spaces no one else could to fix things, so that’s what he learned how to do first. When he was about thirteen, he started getting a little too big for that so he wanted to learn how to do something else: fly. Quentin was basically his father and for all his life, Axel wanted to be just like him so naturally learning to be a pilot or helmsman is what he wanted to do most. Quentin decided Axel was old enough to learn and he began to teach him to fly.

As the years had passed, the crew got used to having Axel around. In fact, the main crew that stayed aboard became like his family. The second most important person to Axel was the captain, who was like the fun uncle. When he was fourteen, the captain taught him how to use a blaster so that he could defend himself later on. By the time he was sixteen, Axel was able to identify and fix many problems on the ship, he could fly pretty well, and he was able to defend the ship in case someone attacked. He was only a teenager, but he was an important part of the crew.

One day, while on a supply run to Nar Shaddaa, they were attacked by pirates. Axel was a part of a boarding party that ended up clearing out the entire ship, though suffering heavy casualties. When they got back to their ship, they realized they had been boarded as well, but the attack didn’t do significant damage...except that their captain and helmsman had been killed in the fight. When they arrived on Nar Shaddaa, not many were willing to step up and be the captain of their vessel except for Axel. Most of them didn’t want to take orders from a child, but some recognized his skill and stayed aboard. He enlisted some help and chose a first mate from the crew that remained, but decided to take the helm himself.

From the start he had a shaky relationship with the new part of his crew. Within only a few months, his first mate, vying for power, rallied over half of his crew against Axel. He was forced to surrender and anyone who followed him was taken into custody. When they arrived at their next stop, Corellia, Axel and his six loyal crew members were kicked off the ship. And that was that.

With the credits they still had left, they bought a light freighter and got enough goods to turn a small profit. It was a rough start, but eventually they had enough money to have decent lives again. As a result of having to trade so much, Axel learned how to charm, bribe, and lie his way out of situations. Every now and again they would smuggle illegal goods, almost getting caught only a few times.

Four years later, while docked at the crime ridden planet Nar Shaddaa, they ran into some familiar faces. They recognized the ship that Axel had called home for sixteen years, but didn’t see the former first mate that cast them aside. They set up a fake meeting with their captain in a remote location and Axel had three members accompany him and left the other three on board. It didn’t take long for the captain to take the bait and when he showed up, Axel had one of his less recognizable crew members meet up with him. The turncoat had brought five members along, but Axel stayed hidden to give them the upper hand. A few minutes into the meeting, Axel opened fire which signaled his crew members to do the same thing. They finished off all of them except for the captain, which Axel saved for last, looking him dead in the eyes before killing him. Once the deed was done, they all left the planet immediately before the bodies were found.

A few years have passed since then and most of his crew members have moved on. Axel got bored of doing the same old jobs, which caused him to find jobs doing more exciting things such as collecting bounties or just being a gun for hire. Axel had learned to do anything as long as the price made it worth the trouble. But he doesn’t like to act like a ruthless killer. He finds it easier to take nothing seriously and to be as likeable as possible. The most important thing for Axel is to get the job done and get paid. No matter what it takes.
    • Axel is at an average height of 5’8 with a slim build. He has curly black hair and a clean-shaven face. He has dark brown eyes and normally wears a light brown jacket and black pants. When able, he wears two pistols in holsters on each side of his hip, but if he needs to, he’ll hide one in his jacket and leave the other behind.
