Coronet City, Corellia

Corenet City is very impressive, as is Corellia itself. Corellia is home to the famed Corellian Engineering Corporation, one of the biggest shipyards in the galaxy. This world they are on right now is what Hugo aspires for Opportunity to be one like day, but that's a very long road ahead. Corellia was once part of the Systems Consortium but in the course of the war with the Sith Empire they left along with many others. It's a real shame but what's done is done.

Hugo would be joined with the Chief Astro Engineer of Asteria Industries herself, @Anat Asteria. What the two are here to do is talk with the heads of CEC and see about getting them an exclusivity deal with the ISC. After Corellia left the ISC, it's probably unwise to talk getting the planet back in the fold so soon, but there is always the ship yards. The war with the Empire might be all but over with the ISC standing the tallest but no reason for the ISC to get comfortable and complacent.

It's almost time for their meeting with the heads of the CEC. Hugo would be in the lobby of their headquarters planetside in Coronet, waiting. Hugo would smile as he would look towards Anat. "Miss Asteria, it's an honor to be working with you today." he said as he would nod his head respectfully. Indeed it was. Her company has achieved a lot. The hypergates and the path engine, he still doesn't know how exactly they work. Miss Asteria's expertise regarding ships and the weight she has in the industry will be crucial here.

The colonial governor would check his chrono. Almost time indeed.

Despite the succession from the ISC, Corellia was still home to the woman. Having spent most of her young life in the capital city and continue to have her seaside cottage, being here was more than business motivation. There was a love for her homeworld and to contribute to it being successful was beyond just business priorities. Corellian Engineering was just as prideful as the people of Corellia. They had a lot to lose, but also a lot to gain; with Asteria Industries relocating after they succeeded from the ISC any deals or partnerships had to be put on hold or dissolved.

However, it seemed that perhaps something new could be arranged as she arrived for their meeting with executives. She wasn't alone and was joined by a new governor and political neophyte, Hugo Parasini of Opportunity. He was inspired by her work when she met with him on Ralltiir, she was uncertain if he understood what she spoke about, but at least if he was faking understanding of her explanations, he did a very well job of it.

She extended her hand to shake his when she arrived, "Its a pleasure to be meeting again, Governor Parasini." she greeted, "Hopefully this will go off without any hiccups, but I know the executives are weary of anyone meddling with what they have accomplished in their own status." It wouldn't be easy once things started.

Hugo would eagerly shake her hand when she extended it and nod his head. "Same" he said when Asteria hoped things would go smoothly. Things indeed were not going to be easy. Corellia left the ISC and they did so for a reason, but still striking a deal with the CEC executives would still a big boon and it's still very much possible. The colonial governor knows they have some cards to play in regards.

Namely that with the collapse of the New Republic and as the New Republic was also a big trade group, Corellia has found itself without a trade group. So unless CEC gets raw material, it's production will be stalled out eventually.

The doors would then open, and a protocal droid would then emerge "Thank you all for waiting. Follow me please" the silver 3PO model protocal droid said.

After a stroll around the building, going up a turbolift, the droid would lead them to the final door "In here" the droid pointed to the door that would open up. That's the board room, the CEC board room is looking quite utilitarian. Being seated, they would find 3 people already seated. there would be two seats vacant.

The person in the middle, a human would then stand up. "Welcome to Corellia Engineering Miss Asteria, and Governor Parasini, right?." He would then walk over towards the two, and then extend his hand for a handshake, with a stoic expression on his face. "I'm President & CEO Garm Beren." he would then gesture over to his other two. He would point to the lady "This is Sara Korra, Chief Technology Officer" then he would point to the last one, a Duros made "Cadan Zhurg, Chief Financial Officer " they would nod towards the ISC vistors.

"Do take a seat. Before we get underway, would you two like a refreshment?" he would ask the ISC duo.

Tia was only given a brief moment to sit down before the protocol droid entered to usher the pair to the meeting room. The woman stood, brushing unnecessary folds from her pants and blouse as she walked beside Hugo and behind the the droid. They were given glimpses of course what the executives wanted them to see, much like she did with her own company, Asteria Industries to showcase highlights of the company. Regardless, Corellian Engineering had its reputation and there was no doubt what Tia observed was impressive.

Leading the two to the board room, Tiamat took in a deep breath, letting her shoulders relax, her gaze soften, and a tug at the corner of her lip brought a modest grin as she entered. Immediately she was greeted, her name was known well throughout every space-faring company, so it was no surprise they seemed to question Hugo's name with lesser confidence. She shook hands, and greeted the others before the woman took a seat in one of the empty seats, setting the holopad on the table in front of her.

"Some water would be good." she said, folding her hands in her lap, one leg crossed over the other as she looked between the executives. "How has business been since the succession?" she asked.

"I'll take a water too" And the protocol droid would go fetch Miss Asteria and Hugo some water, which won't take long before it's inevitably given to them cold. "Yeah, how has business been going?" That is a good question and Hugo wanted to know that as well. The Duros would then respond "Business has been going fine." "Yeah, CEC does what it does best, makes some of the finest ships in the galaxy" Sara, the Technology executive said.

"Oh, Just fine?" Hugo echoed questioningly, then he would take a drink of his water. "Surely you can do better for yourselves than that" Hugo said. "With the Republic and Free Worlds gone, there are not many star nations left in the galaxy with big pockets who are going to buy your ships. But I know who can and will." The ISC of course.

"We aren't here to ask Corellia to rejoin the ISC" yet anyway "We are here to see about making a long term deal for a regular supply of warships. Not just your own designs, but I would like to see our some ISC designs be manufactured here as well." he nodded his head "We're ready to talk specifics"

The executives would then look at each other, then the CEO would they speak again "Well, there are a few problems with that. Our politicians thought after leaving the ISC, Corellia would rejoin the Republic again after that mess with the Chancellor got resolved." the CEO would then roll his eyes. "But that didn't happen because it imploded. The FWA imploded as well. Corellia is an independent world, the planet has no trade infrastructure now, so we have a resource shortage. Our stocks have dropped drastically. Sales have sharply decreased. No one is buying our warships. We have been forced to lay off a lot of workers and some others jumped ship." he would shake his head, frustrated. "Because of all that, we decided to shift manufacturing towards civilian small craft only." That's not really helpful for the ISC suffice it to say.

So this isn't going to be straight forward, CEC has some major problems to tackle. But surely the ISC representives can find remedies for their problems,...

Tiamat listened carefully as the executives spoke; they weren't wrong in their statement that things were going fine. It seemed reasonable in fact, after the succession and the collapse of the FWA and New Republic, it was amazing that CEC was doing as well as they were. Stocks falling was not a big deal, the markets fluctuated in a way that looking at day by day rise and falls, it would look unstable as compared to long term investments.

There was no surprise to hear how the CEC was regulating their manufacturing to ensure they did not collapse under the economic pressures. Going to civilian craft was smart, they were not actively in war, which generally brought in the revenue. War was profit for many of these shipwrights.

Tia glanced at Hugo, slightly concerned also about the manufacturing changes, which would mean more credits would have to go into reinforcing the stage for larger warcraft. If no trade was occurring either, materials were limited, and it would always be cheaper to remain focus on current shipyards. "No one is going to buy your warships because no one else is at war and can't afford to boost their military." she stated matter-of-fact.

"Despite settling tension between the ISC and the Empire, it is the ISC that continues to be on the arrowhead of military effectiveness in the galaxy. However, we're not interested in buying, but we'd be interested in contracting the CEC in building." Tia explained.

They already knew it, they acknowledged it, but it still stung when Asteria pointed out nobody wanted to buy their warships. People want to make peace, or people just don't have the money for it. The CEO would nod as Asteria said that the ISC was interested in the CEC for building.

"Alright then, all what does the ISC need built? And we will go from there" he would ask the two ISC representatives. Once the CEC executives have more specifics, then they will be able to know if this is something that they can do that or not.

Hugo would then look towards Asteria and lean closer towards her and then whisper quietly that the executives can't here. "What do you think? Should we push for a contract for exclusivity, for their non-civilian ships for the ISC, building ships for us as needed in exchange for resources, material, crowns? Perhaps the there are some engineers in the ISC we can dispatch to alleviate their staffing woes" he would consult with his partner, making sure they are on the same page to formulate the deal that would best benefit the ISC and mitigate or even solve the CEC's problems if they are lucky.
