The Cosmatanic Steppes was a layer of mantle suspended above a gas giant with three suns in the Outer Rim. It was a popular destination for archeologists, though its bars were the frequent destination of smugglers and other reprobates. The Starbird was parked just outside the main village. Greybok had decided to use its main hold for the war council he had called. Drinks from the local bar had been brought on board to serve his guests, which consisted of fellow members of the Alliance and the Mandalorians who currently held an outpost on Kashyyyk.

His plan was simple. Secure the aid of the Mandalorians in taking back his homeworld. Surely they, whose homeworld was, until recently, under Imperial jurisdiction, would understand his plight and dilemma. In exchange, he planned to offer them joint-control over Kashyyyk when the Trandoshan slavers that currently held it were finally put down. The Wookiees needed all the help they could get in the coming wars against the Empire, and the Galactic Alliance needed to keep its bond with the Mandalorians strong, especially now that they had a new leader — this so-called Manda'lor — to guide them forward.

Twobee was present and was bustling about the Starbird's main hold with a tray of drinks for their guests. "Welcome aboard," the droid said, feigning politeness when Greybok well-knew she was the rudest droid alive. "Please take a drink and gather 'round. His High Harriness, the captain of this vessel, will call the meeting to order shortly. Please forgive the stench!"

Greybok took the opportunity to switch on the holoprojector and bring up a large holographic representation of Kashyyyk. His home. How he longed to free her. The Wookiees living there had been in bondage for far too long. Trandoshans sold them to the Empire, as he had once been. But, with any luck, this offensive would bring an end to all of that and Kashyyyk would be free to join the Alliance and the Mandalorians in open opposition to the Empire.

Calling the meeting to order, Greybok began to bark and purr in Shyriiwook while Twobee translated for him. "Greetings, everyone! I am 2B-83, translator for this hairy oaf you see behind me, and this is Greybok — a general in the fight against the Empire. The holographic sphere you see before you is Kashyyyk, the homeworld of other hairy oafs. Can you imagine the smell?" Greybok barked a warning and Twobee, mildly annoyed, continued on script. "Plain and simply: we are liberating Kashyyyk. For too long, the Trandoshans have been allowed to enslave Wookiees and sell them to the Empire as slave laborers. We are ending that." Greybok added a loud roar, and Twobee added in Basic, "Violently. We have come to ask for your support in this matter." Greybok grunted a few times, to which Twobee admonished him, "Not now, Greybok, we have to give them a chance to answer first!" The droid turned back to the assembly. "What say you to this?" @Lucid, @Sreeya, @Rom, @Zay, @Killa Ree

OOC - This is also open to any other Mandalorians, Rebels, and Jedi who want to take part in the war council.

Alexander did as he was told and grabbed a drink, then settled back leaning against a bulkhead as he listened to Greybok speak. What he said resonated deeply within Alexander's bones. He had grown up on Kashyyyk amid the Wookiees and the Trandos alike. He could not have been more thrilled to have been asked to take part in this mission.

"General Greybok," he said. "Do you even have to ask? Of course I'll help free our home," he was aware that others looked at him strangely. Why had he called Kashyyyk home? He wasn't a Wookiee. It had been a weird thing to say that Alex hadn't even thought about. He grimaced and added, "Uh...I grew up on Kashyyyk. It's a long story but the point is the Trandoshian oppression has become much, much worse in recent years and it's time to end their disgusting ways once and for all. Just tell me what you want done. Also, Twobee...Kashyyyk doesn't smell. Ok?"

He knew he was stepping a bit out of line but having understood what the Wookiee said, it was clear to him just how much the droid tried to edit the furry being's words. "Don't forget that not everyone needs translation. Maybe our guests would appreciate hearing the plan before they agree," he added with a wink to the droid.

He leaned back on the bulkhead, curious to what Greybok would have to say about all this. With or without the others, he felt certain that both he and Greybok would go to Kashyyyk, alone if necessary, and help lift that terrible weight from their people.

Having come along for the war council, Devrim Wolfe stood in his black attire and eyed the drinks that had been offered to the guests present. His eyes lit up when he saw his favourite beverage — a mug of Cortyg brandy. The watered-down kind, of course, for non-Wookiees that didn't want their stomachs pumped after a few gulps. He eyed the droid, knowing all-too well how rude Twobee usually was, and wondered if the droid had done anything to spike it with something else. However, he dismissed the suspicion after taking a sip of the brandy. It was delicious.

Nodding in greeting to the guests who also arrived, Devrim took note of the Mandalorians. He'd met a few before, back when he was still working with the Dxun cell. The rebel had helped the red-and-black armoured warriors destroy a communications tower in Iziz. It was unlikely that they would recognize Devrim however, as he did not show his face and certainly wasn't wearing the same armour he was before. Now, the dark-haired Jedi Padawan had to admit, he looked more like a Sith in his current outfit. He could certainly pass as one with a bit of improvisation.

As Devrim was utterly clueless what the roaring and barking meant, he waited patiently for the translation given by Twobee. Once Alexander, a fellow rebel, had finished giving his eager acceptance, Devrim raised his mug. "I'll go as well. I greatly enjoyed the life day celebrations, and I've had my fair share of experience killing Trandoshans. I'll offer the aid of my rebel cell too," he continued. Though there were only a score of men under his command, the Rebel Commander still held some influence in the Galactic Alliance both as a leader and a capable fighter.

Clad in his armor but unarmed save for the vibrosword sheathed across his back, A'ro Saa cut an impressively intimidating figure; fierce features enhanced by his breathing mask and protective goggles, long powerful arms folded across his broad chest with black claws tapping out a slow rhythm on his gauntlet. Anyone unfamiliar with the reclusive Kel Dor would miss the subtle set of his shoulders and the crinkle at the corner of his eyes that indicated his attentions were distracted by two competing interests; the beautiful Mandalore - did she bring a basilisk with her? He could only hope for the opportunity to admire the sleek lines and curves bristling with armor and weaponry... plus the woman was quite the sight herself - and the prospect of wrecking the Trandoshans and liberating Kashyyyk.

"You know I'm with you, General - I could never stand idle while my commander battles slaver scum... not to mention, Trandoshan scale bags are currently all the rage on Taris. Free your people, and finance their newfound freedom with the remains of their former masters? Sounds like a win to me."

Stepping forward he drew his sword and knelt before the leader of Star Squadron, head bowed in recognition of this momentous occasion; the beginning of the end to centuries of enslavement for the Wookiees.

"You have my sword."

Standing in silence besides and a little behind A'ro, Alysanne was thinking up ways to irritate Twobee when she noticed the Kel Dor rebel eyeing one of the Mandalorians. Not just any Mandalorian, the Mandalorian! Well aware of how things might end up, and thinking it best to step in before got out of hand and a fight broke out between two of her friends, she was about to step up and say something to him when A'ro suddenly stepped forward and began speaking.

Knowing full well that she had to deal with him as soon as possible, she stepped forward as well and nodded to Grey. "I'd follow you into hell itself if you asked me to, but what you want to do would convince me even if I hated you. You have my bow!" Saying so she bowed to the Wookiee, which brought her face close to the kneeling Kel Dor, and she whispered urgently at him. "Stop gawking at her, she's Val's wife. He'll poke your eyes out, and I swear on the Force I won't stop him."

Daniel decided that now would be a good time to speak. There was a bit of mischife left in him still.

He rose from his place near the back of the gathering and walked forward to greet Greybok formally. True to his word the Wookiee had called on Daniel and the Mandalorians to assist in a time of need. Most important of all, it was for a task that both sides found critically important, whatever their reasons. As he passed the woman who was whispering dangerous things as he passed and hissed back to her, "Yeah, and she'll do worse. She didn't even invite me to make the cake for the wedding. She's mean, watch out." He passed with a very unmandalorian wink and continued to Greybok knowing Raz would be behind. He wondered idly if she'd ride the basilisk up to greet Greybok. She'd been quite attached to the thing since she'd got it...

"General Greybok!" He said. "It is an honor to meet you again. It is also an honor to present to you the newly...elected...Mand'alor, Raz Solus!" He swept an arm behind him and turned so that all attention was drawn to Raz. Hopefully she wasn't doing something embarrassing like snogging her Jedi husband when she thought they were all looking the other direction. "I think I speak for both of us when I say that the Mandalorians would be happy to assist in the release of Kashyyyk from the lizard overlords. The Wookiees are an honorable people and it would be wrong of us to turn a blind eye." He paused for a moment, frowning at the Wookiee.

"That said, I would like to hear more of what you had in mind. I'm sure either he," Daniel pointed to the man who had spoken first, "or I would be happy to translate if your droid is proving unsatisfactory at this time."

When she had Tippy land the Alpherys some distance away from the outskirts, it took her a bit of time to enter. Not being habitually late, she gave a bow to those present, then gave a slightly sheepish grin. Luckily, she had just arrived to hear the most of all that was said by Twobee. Yet another droid that she liked already. She knew none of these rebels, apart from by hearsay and occasional brushes. The grin that was on her lips widened as her tan duster drifted around her narrow shoulders, her small frame fitted in a tailored pilot's uniform that was her standard far from home.

"General Greybok, those attending. Apologies for my delay... I had to attend to one last matter before coming here."

She gave a nod to each in turn, noting wryly that this was the first time perhaps she had ever met a Mandolorian. What a day already. To most, she simply seemed a blind woman with long dark hair braided tightly, and scars radiating out from a bandage-looking veil. Though her voice was still light in tone, it lacked the previous aviary jumpiness of before.

"I'd be delighted to exorcise Kashyyyk of all her... cancerous growths we call the Trandoshans." She carefully plucked up a glass of brandy; even for a supposedly blind woman, she seemed to move rather well, her poise tall despite the lack of height. "It's been a long time coming, and I'd love to give them exactly what they deserve." The smile turned mischievous. She was careful to keep her saber tucked away in the folds of her long synthleather duster, as well as her recently obtained vibroknife and blaster. You could never be too careful these days... unfortunately. "I'll do anything within my power." If she had eyes.. they would no doubt be glinting. She had trained and fought, but this was far more close to home for her. How could she not help?

Raz was, in fact, very much attached to her basilisk and took it on any key operation she was a part of. As a result, in the distance and view of all those within the ship, they could see a large object rapidly gaining speed towards them. The object came into view, and it was basilisk droid that had caused chaos on both Corellia and Nar Shaddaa. The droid itself was gaining notoriety, and it was known to belong to Raz, the current Mand’alor. She was still getting used to the title, and she had to remember that she carried more pull and weight than ever before.

The droid descended rapidly towards the ground, cutting a majestic figure against the backdrop behind it. It stood proud and tall, still carrying the marks of battle from its time on Corellia and deep in Imperial territory. The droid’s rider was perched high up, adorned fully in traditional beskar’gam that was black and red, the badger sigil proudly displayed. On any parts of the left arm that weren’t covered, the metallic cybernetic arm was visible. It was a constant reminder of how much the war had cost her already.

Raz didn’t wait for the droid to land entirely. When it was close to the ground, she swung a leg off and activated her repulsor boots, smoothly gliding down the front leg of the droid. The gesture was fluid and rather graceful for the walking tank she was. In the end, she skidded off the end of the droid’s foot and glided along solid ground as the beast landed with a thud behind her. The glide eased into a rapid gait, and she was walking towards the gathering with purposeful steps.

She found her way inside the ship, overhearing the others talking about her and also reciting lines she swore she heard from a popular Holomovie. Raz stepped forward, hearing their words and seeing them beginning to kneel. She turned her gaze to face the woman that muttered about her ‘husband’. The girl would be faced with the cold, steely T-visor looking at her for a moment. She had seen the girl on Corellia, and she knew she was associated with Val somehow. Val was far from her thoughts now, and Raz had an icy chill about her a she spoke, “I’m not married.”

She turned forward to gaze at the Wookiee, “And I don’t have an axe,” Raz muttered as she casually hoisted her PIPE over her shoulder and rested it there. Her presence here alone would tell them all she was here to support them.

The roar of the Basilisk outside drew the A'ro's attention from the Wookiee general like a spice addict spotting a literal mountain of glitteryl. He remained kneeling, not trusting in his legs ability to hold him steady on his feet, and felt the impact of the beautiful marriage between war machine and mechanical eroticism through the deckplates of the ship. The sound of boot-clad steps strutting up the cargo hold to the war room seemed to echo in time to the beat of his hearts.

Ba-bump. Ba-bump. Ba-bump.

And there she was; Raz Solus. Mand'alor the Defiant. Desecrator of Kuat. The Battle Angel of Corellia. Alor of Clan Solus and the most beautiful woman the Kel Dor commando had ever seen. The coldly spoken words to his young and foolish compatriot only succeeding in stoking a fire beneath his broad chest.

Rising to his feet in a single fluid motion, every movement emphasizing a predators' grace, A'ro sheathed his sword and turned to face Raz with a cool confidence that he had no fathomable right to possess. "Would you like to be?"

Alys gulped as she heard the words and found herself face to face with Raz. She took an instinctive step back, suddenly showing her age as she remembered every story she had ever heard about just what the Mandalorians had done to the ancient Jedi. It was probably because of something like this, an idiot Jedi girl saying something to piss off one of them and getting her entire Order killed as a result.

She was momentarily at a loss for words, till good old A'ro rose to his feet and spoke up. Hearing his words, she did her best to suppress a groan as she grabbed him by the shoulders, pulling him forward. "This is A'ro." She replied, speaking way too fast in her bid to do anything to distract the scary lady from her earlier comment. "He's a big fan." With that she pushed him forward, and quickly stepped behind him, using the Kel Dor as a seemingly willing shield between herself and the Mandalorian leader.

Greybok started ignoring the chatter the moment the name "Raz Solus" was brought into the equation. He had been hearing a lot about this woman lately. Married to Valentine, apparently—the man the Wookiee had wanted to pull the arms off of not too long ago. Yet, the moment he laid eyes on her, he knew the rumors to be false. She had a look about her that said she was willing to carve you up and eat your liver. She doubted this woman had time for Val, and he very much doubted Val would be capable of handling a woman with a look like that in her eyes. He didn't have any stirrings for human women (or Wookiee women, for that matter), but he could respect a woman like that, at least.

Stepping forward, he pushed Twobee aside and decided to speak to the assembly directly. He doubted that many of them understood Shyriiwook, but these were Mandalorians he was dealing with. Manda'lor too. As was the warrior tradition on Kashyyyk, the only way they were going to respect him was to hear it from him directly and not through Twobee's filter. «I have identified eight targets that allow the Trandoshans to hold on to Kashyyyk.» He highlighted them with red blips on his holographic map. «The most critical of these is the capital. Kashyyyk hasn't had a monarchy since the Trandoshans smashed it five hundred years ago to begin selling us to the Sith. If Kashyyyk is to be free, the capital must fall.»

His gaze swept the main hold and locked on to Raz. «I know your people have a base on my homeworld, Manda'lor. I know they fought and bled for it. We Wookiees respect these things too. I would not ask you to abandon it.» He knew that if she agreed to what he was about to ask, and then followed through, he would owe her a life-debt. That risk was one that needed to be taken. He knew that too. Still, the weight of that reality gave him pause. Then he said, «I am asking you, one warrior to another, to lend your people to help me free my home. If you do, the Mandalorians shall be welcome anywhere on Kashyyyk. You may use our factories and shipyards. You may use our weaponry, and I will allow you to appoint one of your own to serve as my royal advisor, that we might share the rule of Kashyyyk.»

«Both of our peoples need allies in the wars to come. You already have the support of my rebel friends. Help me with this, and you can count the Wookiees among those who would take up arms beside you, as well.» As a warrior, every word that left his mouth just then was bitter. It was a bitter pill to swallow to have to ask another warrior and an outsider for help. But Kashyyyk wasn't going to be free otherwise, and he wasn't going to leave it in bondage one more day. @Lucid, @Sreeya, @Rom, @Zay, @Killa Ree

Raz outright ignored the strange advances of the Kel Dor. She barely tolerated most aliens, one making blatant passes her disgusted her. She kept her cool, her T-visor facing the Wookiee straight ahead. She had come here to get a job done, and that’s all her focus would be. As the Wookiee began to speak, she stood silently and listened. It was impossible to judge her reaction to anything, but she wasn’t exactly thrilled. The PIPE was still slung over her shoulder and she still had the cold, detached aura about her that could be sensed by the Jedi near her.

There was a moment of pause after Greybok finished speaking, and she mulled over his words. When she spoke, her voice was firm, “You will allow me to appoint one of my own to serve as your advisor?” She repeated his words, her tone icy, “When it was my people and I that first began the liberation of the Wookiees? When it was my people and I that destroyed entire camps of Trandoshans and killed off Sith that were trying to enslave them? You will come here, ask for our aid and then grace us with the option to come and go as we please when we very well have more clout here than you at this point?"

She lowered the PIPE down to rest on the ground with a thud, leaning it next to her leg as she crossed her arms over her chest, “You will offer me terms that are more concrete than friendship and vague promises. If it will be you that takes the throne, I need assurances that should your decisions prove to be entirely too much in favor of the Rebellion over my people, that you can be overruled by a governing body of my choosing,” Raz would patiently wait for his reply, silently sizing him up. He was a giant next to her, but she commanded her own authoritative presence, and it was very clear that she herself was a leader as well. There was no disrespect in how she addressed him, but it was very clear she had loyalty to her brethren above all.

Crix couldn't belive where he was standing. He was in THE STARBIRD! The famous ship was piloted by the equally notable Wookie smuggler and Rebel general, Greybok. To say the lesser known smuggler was geeking out would have been an extreme understatement. He marveled at the small details around the ship. To the knowing eye, this ship was a marvel. It was basically everything he wanted in a vessel. It was faster than it should have been, as stronger than it should have been, and held more secrets than a hutt's monkey lizard. Crix was in heaven.

The smuggler poked around anywhere he could get himself into and was obsessing over the sidecar light dual-laser cannons turret when he heard a commotion begin from back down the hall. He'd flown alongside The Starbird in a mission not too long ago, and that's where his love affair with the ship began. Watching Greybok fly was a thing of beauty. It was like watching poetry in motion, without conscious thought he took slipped into the gunner's seat and his imagination took over.

After a few minutes of epic blaster sounds and impossible missions completed in just the nick of time, the fanboy heard the voice of a droid and the rustling of other passengers. He practically leaped out of the seat, suddenly embarrassed by his overactive imagination he quickly moved to the main hold where the rest of the gang was gathering. As he attempted to sneakily slip back into the group taking a quick glance at the crowd. He stopped in his tracks as his gaze landed on Ghost.

Oh cool! he thought, changing his trajectory to stand next to her. As he approached the holoprojection of Kashyyyk blinked into life and Twobee began explaining the operation. Crix stopped in place and faced the droid in an attempt to avoid some social faux pas. He chuckled a little at Twobee's quips. The smuggler could appreciate a little brevity in the face of coming adversity.

As the droid's opening speech ended, various members began showing their enthusiasm vowing their allegiance to the cause with different gestures. Crix inclined an eyebrow as a massive Kel Dor stepped forward and offer his sword. Momentarily, he glanced at his blaster and wondered if he was supposed to offer it in fealty and then decided to simply bob his head in agreement.

The smuggler inched closer to his old friend as the members of the councils seemed to focus in on the new... MANDALORE!?

Crix's mouth dropped open in surprise as memories of his dear friend screaming bloody murder while terror killing possums replayed in his mind. As the Kel dor bore his soul, Crix winced at the awkwardness. The smuggler scratched his head and looked around the ship until the moment passed.

Oof, I feel like a terrible friend... Eh, I'll just buy her a meat bun and a drink.

Crix finally got in Dan's line of sight and waved. Whole band's back together. This is going to be awesome.

Finally, settling into a spot in Raz's periphery, Crix felt comfortable, and then the true severity of the situation took the stage.

Raz Solus was being super sassy. The smuggler had only seen her like this once before and it'd been equatable to a force of nature. He could sense an abnormality in her presence... one that... he couldn't quite describe... His brow furrowed in confusion. Weren't they all on the same side? He kept quiet and watched Raz and Greybok with great interest. The smuggler respected both of them immensely and saw this situation as a perfect learning opportunity. He was beginning to understand this assignment. He crossed his arms lifting his left hand to cup his chin in thought.

Greybok almost smirked. Yeah, there was no way Val was married to this woman. She would eat him alive, or else carve him up and serve him for supper. She had a lot of bark to her and, judging by that weapon she was packing, a bit to go with it; but, being a Wookiee warrior himself, he was wise to her game. She was sizing him up even as he was doing the same. He gave her the courtesy of listening to her as she had listened to him, but he didn't flinch or waver. He kept his gaze locked to her t-visor, where he presumed her gaze to be, until she finished speaking as well.

«A human will never have more clout than a Wookiee on our homeworld.» His growls were deep and clipped, the equivalent to a human firmness. «But do me this favor — do my people this favor — and I will owe you a life debt.» He didn't bother to explain. Even Mandalorians knew what life debts were and what they entailed. He added, «And your interests will be represented before my people. Furthermore, I will allow you to appoint the whole of my ruling council. Pick from among the chieftains you've befriend, your own people, or both. You will select them in exchange for the blood your warriors have shed to save my people as a sign of my people's collective gratitude.»

He knew that decision might grate some back in the Alliance, but it was what honor demanded. She had a point. The Mandalorians had come to the aid of the Wookiees long before the rebels; and, as a prospective claimant to the Wookiee throne, he could not allow that debt to go unpaid. «This will ensure that Kashyyyk does not favor one faction over another, as the king must have the consent of his council before major action can be taken. We will share the rule as I have promised you. These are my terms.»

He finished speaking, but his gaze would not leave hers. Indeed, he would not even acknowledge the others in the room until she gave him an answer, affirmative or otherwise. He did not do this to disrespect or intimidate her; quite the contrary, he spoke plainly and directly out of mutual respect for her, as both the leader of her people and as a fellow warrior. @Sreeya

Raz actually did smirk beneath the mask. As she suspected, the only advantage he had was the fact that she didn’t have quite so much fur on her. She didn’t voice those thoughts, seeing no sense in antagonizing the situation. There was an understanding between them, and it was something only the two of them could see. She could sense others around them tense up and get overly concerned, and she had no care for it. Her gaze was trained ahead only at the Wookiee, both warriors sizing the other up. It was a tense moment, and everyone could feel it.

When he spoke, she listened quietly. After he was finished, the ball was back in her court. She mulled over the words before she finally nodded, “I find these terms acceptable,” Raz muttered sincerely. She stepped forward then, moving right past everyone else gathered there. She closed the distance between herself and Greybok, extending her arm out. If permitted, she would grasp his forearm in a show of binding respect, “My people and I will fight and bleed with you.”

She said nothing more, stepping back to where she was standing before. That was when she noticed Crix. Her head tilted ever so slightly to regard him. How did he always crop up at the most random circumstances? Now he was part of the rebellion? She was thankful for the T-visor hiding her look of blatant surprise. Raz made no remarks towards him, shifting her gaze to train forward once more. Whenever Greybok gave the word, they would mobilize at once.

Greybok clasped her forearm as well. She had a surprisingly strong grip for a non-Wookiee. There was much to be respected in that. Together they shook as two warriors who fought and bled for the safety of their people, and Greybok answered her by saying, «And myself and mine shall fight alongside yours as well, in this war and all the wars to come.» When she released him and stepped back, he too took a step back.

His gaze swept the assembled rebels and, momentarily, fell upon Alys. It was a fleeting glance, and there was much emotion underneath it that he did not allow to show, but he knew she would notice it and see it for what it was. Then, roaring in Shyriiwook, he addressed the assembly as a whole. «Everyone in this ship wants to see the Empire die for what it has done to our people—all of our peoples. Today, with this fight, we take a step closer to that goal! Without the Wookiee slaves supplied by these Trandoshan slavers, the Empire will be without the strong laborers that operate so many of their shipyards and factories! And a free Kashyyyk — like a free Mandalore — will show the whole galaxy that we will no longer tolerate the oppression of these dark sorcerers!»

Ripping his ryyk blade free of its scabbard, he held the Wookiee blade high for the assembly to see. Then, roaring again, more loudly, he said, «Now... let's go skin some lizards!» @Sreeya @Wit @Zay @Killa Ree @Lucid @Rom @Vosrik
