DESCRIPTION
Nicknamed the “Shadow Dreadnought”, not for its class but for its fearless if fearsome appearance, the ship is otherwise known simply as the “Shadow Vessel”. If not the only current ship of its line, it is certainly a rare sight amid the galaxy. Its appearance is solely unique, with a spider-like shape and undulating black skin. The mere sight of it can send shivers down a person's spine, and if that fails, then the eerie high pitch emanating from it, as though a person were locked inside and screaming, just might.

In the words of the Deucalian Karl Brynjar:

"It was jet black. A shade of black so deep your eye just kind of slides off it. And it shimmered when you looked at it. A spider big as death and twice as ugly. And when it flew past, it was like you heard a scream in your mind.”

The Shadow Vessel is capable in transport and offers combat capability, though the average individual might have to think hard about obtaining one. This ship is not for the frail of heart, and if the outside appearance is any indication of what lies within, well...you get the picture.

The purpose of the Shadow Vessel is to destroy things. It is actually a state of the art piece of machinery...when fixed. As it stands, the ship needs an overhaul in order to be brought back to its peak performance, practically operating at the same level as a...Z-13 Light Freighter.

There is no telling how old the ship is, or how young, and this same statement can also be applied to its captain. Seneestra Vi-Kaidos owns a Shadow Vessel and uses it in the way that any Sith might—with intent to hurt and harm.

Apart from looking menacing, Captain Seneestra has since speculated on what the spikey protrusions on her ship were designed for. In her musings, she has concluded that, in typical dark side fashion, they are the upside down alternatives to limb-like solar sails, instead sailing the black void where no sun is there to shine.

LEGALITY
Legal, not that legality is necessarily the defining factor as to whether a person wants such a ship...

INTENT
I've submitted this ship because, quite basically, I like the look/skin of it and it is ideal for my character. Additionally, I'm hoping to upgrade/up-gentec down the road so that it is reflective of advanced tec (upon acquiring the advance tec skin comparison IC), and make it the beast that it was born to be. Otherwise, apart from mainly just looks, there's really no other reason.

ADVANCED TECH
No...for as long as it remains a gentec of the Z-13 Light Freighter.

NOTE:
Gentec of Z-13 Light Freighter

I want my character to start out with the physical appearance of this ship, however, the specs are weaker than what I had in mind. What I had in mind would be gentec of advanced tech, which requires an IC plot. But, again, I want my character to start out with this ship as far as just looks go. Therefore, I wagered I'd obtain the advance ship down the road IC and just update this gentec to be the gentec of the advanced tec...hopefully.

This thing is badass.

I think the name might broker some confusion though, to my knowledge a dreadnought is a class of ship in and of its own.

Haha I know. In this case, the "Dreadnought" part is less indicative of a class and more of how beastly it is.

I would still change it unless you like it explaining the same thing a dozen times or more

Honestly, unless it's a requirement to change it, I'll keep it...not to intentionally confuse people lol. It's just a name to me, but a name I'd rather keep

@Darasuum
I thought more on things, as often happens, and actually I think you’re right. In my own character sheet, I just now saw “Shadow Dreadnought” listed and realized how that could throw someone off.

I’ll update it to simply “Shadow Vessel”, with class clarification. “Dreadnought” is really just a nickname based on the word meaning itself. The “Shadow Vessel” ‘fears nothing’, but how someone else feels about it is another story.

Dreadnaught is an actual class of capital ship in the Anaxes War College system, which we use here on the site, so unless a piece if tech fits that classification it's best avoided.

Yeah I already edited it out. It has no 'official' place in this write-up, but the very odd few who have encountered it had dubbed it a "dreadnought" out of passing appearance with its shadow vibes, perhaps mistaking its size, mainly gearing toward the connotation of the word. I am otherwise very aware that a lighter freighter class is not the same as a dreadnought class.

I guess it would be like calling a bomber a "destroyer" as in "that bomber is an absolute destroyer" because bombers certainly can destroy things.

Another good name like dreadnought is juggernaught. Could be a standin if you want.
