Such words normally wouldn't have incensed her so much.

But it was that look, the words, that sank into her mind. She suddenly remembered Felucia; no one had cared then. All of her efforts, all of her pain, to be tossed aside like a broken thing once the battle had been lost. Walking amongst the rainforest, knowing that none of them actually cared. That the Darkness was her only true companion; even she abandoned her.

You are nothing but an insect. A lowly, crawling thing.

Her fists balled, and her gaze once more flicked to Raze, her gaze icy. These words were nothing new to her. They were the very same words she heard when the spice withdrawals hit, hard enough to leave her shaking, panting and screaming in her own cold sweat and agony, body twisting as bones shattered and blood frothed from her mouth. Pain was nothing new to her, but this cold humiliation...

Hearing them reflected, in the low undertones of his voice, was enough to finally snap something inside of her.

"As if there would ever be any doubt," she muttered, mostly to herself. The message had come clear across. She took one step away from him, then another step. Darkness seethed in her bones, began to spread from her body in wraithlike shadows as she continued to apply pressure to the male's throat, but kept her gaze locked on Tiamat at the bar.

You can stand on your high horse and sneer at me all you like, your hands are just as red as the rest of us.

When she at last posed next to Tiamat, her voice was cool, calm, and yet... a knife's edge, a humming almost predatory anticipation lurked beneath, watchful, waiting.

"It's a pity, you both danced so well together. But it seems... he got a little choked up."

She didn't disguise it from neither Tia nor Raze at this point, Shadows curling around the man's throat and applying visible pressure, hard enough to make the man black out, or possibly die if she wasn't distracted. Her voice was quiet, still staring Tiamat down.

"Do I disgust you so? I apologize... I so loathe distractions."

He made it to the edge of the dance floor towards the first of the tables, it becoming hard to breathe with each step.

He tried to speak, but no sound was produced. As panic took over, he pulled at the high collar of his shirt, now revealing the deep bruising already occurring in a band around his throat.

Bracing himself against the table, the crowd around him began to panic as someone called for a doctor. He tried to sit but toppled over on the ground, dark blood vessels showing up his neck. His panic gave way to unconsciousness as his vision went black.

In a room full of nobles, politicians, and the elite, someone suddenly collapsing violently immediately sparked rumors. Within seconds, the words assassination and poison were already starting to float as the room started to devolve, those most skittish already making for the exit.

Sah’ra moved along with Raze as he floated across the floor but as his interaction with the other woman began, she instead opted to take a step back and observe. The emotions ran rampant from this woman, of whom was vaguely familiar and suggested that Raze was indeed correct about plenty of ”her” people being present, but was a source of curiosity. It didn’t take long for the woman to pinpoint Deva’s source of ire, her violet eyes glued to the scene of Tia dancing with the unknown man.

Leaning her free hand on a nearby table, bringing her glass of wine to smirking lips as she watched, the woman mused how even at the loftiest heights of the social ladder, dramatic spectacles remained widely abundant. She could feel the spike in the air as Deva coiled the Force around the young man’s neck, which warranted an audible chuckle from her. The jealousy clung to the air of the masquerade like a thick fog, emanating from more than just one.

And then, just as things were beginning to get interesting, Raze prodding her into further action, Deva slunk away. Disappointing, Sah’ra would think, as she scowled in observance of the other woman retreating to the bar and the safety of Tiamat’s proximity.

”Do you often chase away your playthings?” Sah’ra would muse as she approached Raze’s side once again, bringing her glass of wine to her lips. Then before she could say anything else, her senses screamed as death approached in preparation of claiming its next victim. Her gaze calmly turned in the direction of the man who was about to greet the beyond, her smirk returning. ”Discarded garbage has a way of attracting flies, it seems,” she added, her attention flicking ever so briefly to the man at the bar, curious to see his reaction to the turmoil.

Baudelaire’s head whipped toward the woman who might as well have appeared out of thin air, his mouth gaped like a fish trying to breath on dry land, when his brain finally caught up.

I am so, sorry!” he said, actually kinda meaning it. He took pride in most things he did regardless of how seemingly insignificant, and her ire was well met. Granted, the whisky guy was legit the scariest being he’d ever encountered. Ever. He quickly grabbed his favorite bottle of red and turned back to her.

If I’m being candid with you ma’am, the red they’re passing around is a basic house wine,” he presented the bottle he was holding, “I’d love to pour you a glass of—" aaaaaaaaaand she was gone. He glanced over at Doth who looked pissed and smiled apologetically.

Leon wasn’t sure how he managed it, but even with his shaky hands he poured a perfect count. The man’s voice threatened to freeze him in place, but he was able to produce a squeak from the back of his throat, and an awkward smile, then the guy was gone. There was some kind of disturbance on the dance floor, but all Leon felt was the pressure of that man’s presence abate. It wasn’t gone, not by any means, but it wasn’t being directed at him and he was stoked on that shit. Under the table he poured himself a shot and prayed he’d get a second to sneak it.

He needed to get the fuck out of here. He felt like a wounded fish in a tank full of sharks. Then he remembered the lady who walked up with the boogey man. He clasped his hands behind his back and waited to see if she hated the wine. Hopefully, it made up for his fuck up.

At that moment, Leon realized he was in fact NOT having a good time.

I’m switching to space uber… he thought as his eyes began to roam the floor for an exit. He spotted someone familiar on the dance floor, but pushed them from his mind, because why would Jayna be here?

Before he could secure his egress a shock of red hair came storming toward him.

AYEEEEE YO!?!! WAS AUNTIE TIA FUCKING EVERYWHERE?!?!?!

Good evening, what can I get for you?” he asked, doing his best not to sound like the guy who definitely broke into her Lab a couple months ago. Before the Tia could answer another woman stormed up. Her voice was calm, but it was calm like a serial kill, ya know?

Welp, if I'm gonna die, at least it'll be funny... he thought. He knew what he had to do.

Leon slammed his shot, and went to work. In his periphery he could see Doth's forehead vein pulsing at him.

Fuck Doth.

Baudelaire grabbed his tumblers and started pouring every color of the rainbow into them, he set 9 shot glasses down. He popped the small end of his tin into the big one and went to work shaking the shit out of that drink. He flashed a smile at his imaginary adoring fans as he popped open the tin and started to pour. In a cascade of revolving colors the glasses were filled with different colors.

Leon flipped the little tin catching it on the other while calling out, "Who's ready to taste the rainbow!?"

Raze said nothing in response to Sah’ra’s question, his smirk growing as he kept his gaze fixed on the scene. He knew what was happening and Sah’ra would see it soon enough. He calmly sipped from his drink as Deva was cut loose, closing in on the unfortunate man that was the target of her wrath. By now, it was obvious what was happening. The man began to choke in a very familiar way - Serenno had heavy Sith ties in the past. Every Great House here had been connected with the Sith in the past and had profited from them. Andraste had her main palace here.

As the man dropped to the ground with a thud, Raze swooped in. Chaos erupted all around. People were clutching their pearls, and he had his eyes on someone in particular.

“Stop!” He called out to Deva, coiling the Force around her and flinging her to the side hard enough to knock her out, “Seize her!” Raze called out to the authorities to let them put cuffs on her and take her away. If he found her useful, he would break her out himself. For now, she was a pawn in his game without even realizing it. His demeanor did a complete 180, and he came across as the savior, “Let it be known that no rogue Force user will step a toe out of line here again. Long has Serenno suffered the whims of rogue Force users from the disgraced Sith Altair Din to incidents like this,” He commanded the room with his words, feeding and preying on the fear they all felt, “No more."

The wraith stood tall as the unwitting pawn was rushed out of the room to the dungeons. He was also able to use the Force to rouse Alexi (@Raydo ) as well, abruptly dragging him back to consciousness with a lazy flick of his wrist. Before long, everyone began to settle a bit.

Raze just happened to be standing next to a woman that looked shocked. He gently extended a hand to her, “Are you alright? What is your name?” He knew her name. She had been his target from the moment he set foot inside this hall.

“I-I’m Lysa Malvern,” She said, taking his hand while still trembling from witnessing the incident, “If it wasn’t for you…that man would be dead!”

“It’s all right, Lady Malvern,” He said calmly, “Come, let’s go have a drink.”

Raze led her back towards the bar, his gaze flicking back over to Sah’ra who would have seen the entire act play out from start to finish. He gave her a smile that would chill her to her bones as he brushed against her while passing her - a smile that reverted unnaturally fast back to a warm and concerned look as Malvern gazed at him.

The entire room was buzzing about him. The Savior of Castle Serenno. A theater play he directed without any of his actors knowing beforehand.

There was nothing.

Then a cold shock slammed into his body as his eyes shot open, gasping for air. The crowd around him jumped back at the suddenness of it all. Alexi lay stunned as he took in weak breaths, his throat injured from the pressure.

Soon his attendants arrived and extracted him back to his ship where he could receive medical care on the way back to Anaxes. Alexi found it difficult to speak or even just draw proper breath. For now, he was placed in a Bacta tank as his ship left the planet.

What transpired next was truly a spectacle to behold, a master stroke by an artist of manipulation. Sah’ra was taken aback at first as Raze loudly barked across the field of dancing high society but as Deva was quickly subdued by his prowess, it all became clear that everyone in this room were merely dancing to his tune. Dejarik pieces moved at his will. Puppets whose strings were pulled from the shadows.

And she admired every moment of it.

Having done her homework, Sah’ra knew the unsuspecting woman who had unknowingly fallen into the dangerous clutches she now found herself. House Malvern would soon discover that their foundations were maneuvered by a demon, but who would be foolish enough to warn them? Certainly not her.

Placing her glass on a nearby surface, Sah’ra’s eyes met those of Raze as he guided the shaken Malvern woman to the bar, each exchanging a sinister smirk as she slowly clapped in unison with the remainder of the party goers. With every movement this man made, her skin crawled with thrill, practically begging to peel away and hide in fear. For whatever he was, whatever he had done in the past, those actions of then were only the beginning. Raze’s true greatness was yet to be experienced by the galaxy, Sah’ra eager to witness what was yet to come.

For now, she would give the wraith the privacy he needed to enact the carefully laid out plan he had worked toward executing all night. As the members of the masquerade began to quiet down from the disturbance, Sah’ra would make her way further down the bar to procure yet another glass of wine. This time, the unobservant bartender had taken some liberties with his job, and she was curious as to what he had concocted.

Placing her now empty wine glass on the counter in silence, she slid the stemmed cup towards the young man then silently motioned for him to offer up one of the shots he had poured. After everything, she was feeling… adventurous.

She couldn't even think of a drink name when she saw who was behind the bar counter (@Zay), though her attention was drawn back to Deva (@Killa Ree) who approached her. There was a commotion sounding not too far away as the man (@Raydo) who she danced with continued to choke on nothing, but Deva made it known with her quip of her intent. It infuriated Tia, and now she certainly felt disgusted with the violet-eyed woman as she seemed oblivious to it all. The fingers of the redheaded woman curled, her muscles tensed, she wanted to enjoy herself on her own time and she was messing it up for her. Though before could snap a fist between Deva's eyes, she was jerked backwards, pulling out of Tiamat's range and her satisfaction to let her know how much she appreciated her admiration.

Tia blinked, her raised fist relaxed while her eyes suddenly widened as Raze (@Sreeya)...came to the rescue in rather dramatic fashion. He saved the noble, and prosecuted Deva who was quickly being apprehended by guardsmen and security to avoid another mishap. While the room exploded with awe and praise, the redhead lowered her fist and crossed her arms, a scowl crossing her features as to the disbelief that seemed to ignite by the ignorance of the nobles present. She watched as Raze strolled...or more glided his way back tot he bar, but he wasn't alone and now had a woman at his arm.

She heard the hall buzz with The Savior of Castle Serenno, and all she could do was roll her eyes and scoff at the stupid things people said or did. Turning back to Leon at the bar, who was now asking who wanted to taste a rainbow, the woman glared, "Leon give me a double rainbow." she let out in a huff.

Jayna's indifference regarding the princeling wasn't entirely surprising, but it did Jasnah a little about the younger woman. She had met the sort while working her way up through the Diplomatic Corps, and along the way was herself on the receiving end of that treatment on more than one occasion. So as they danced, she smiled, not just because she was enjoying the dance, but also out of a sense of pleasure at seeing someone else get that treatment at her expense.

"The Republic has fallen," she replied in response to Jayna's question, "the Free Worlds are bleeding. The Senate is no longer the voice of order and efficiency it once was." She smiled, the sarcasm in her voice evident. "When a thousand voices speak at once, none can be heard. There was no merit in wasting one's breath trying to scream over that mess. Thankfully the Senate is not the only stage where I can be of use to the Empire. This ball for instance, the words are softer, the company," she took that moment to briefly take control and spin around Jayna before returning to face her, "more enthralling, and the outcomes just as rewarding."

Though she was no Sith, she was observant, and noticing Jayna's eyes lingering on distant figures for the briefest of moments, she took the lead once more and turned her around so that Jasnah faced the trio Jayna had spotted, though mostly hidden from her behind the taller woman'd form. As for Jayna, she was forced to turn her attention to her, with her back turned to the trio.

"What about you, what brings you to Serenno? It can't be the food, not many offworlders find Serennian cuisine to their liking. Spiders and cremlings, unique to say the least."

Tia ordered a double rainbow and Leon cocked an eyebrow at her, “Sheesh, we’re both having a rough night, huh?” he said, pouring her a quick tequila shot with a rim of salt and a lime.

He was hesitant to pour her The Double Rainbow. That shit was potent, but he wasn’t dumb didn’t tell her no. He went to work and he poured up the color changing drink into a Collins glass over pellet ice and garnished it with an orange peel and little umbrella. Then handed it to Tia, “One double rainbow all the way across the sky, ma’am,” he said with a knowing wink.

Leon wasn’t clear on what all had just transpired and he was doing his best to live in his own lane, but he had a bad feeling about all of it. The admiration exuding from the nobles in the ballroom made his stomach hurt. Under the counter he poured himself another shot. He didn’t take it right away, but it was comforting to know it was there.

The vibe was still a little stuffy for his taste, but it was way less doom and gloom than it had been only moments earlier. The woman he’d pissed off was back, her glass was empty and he wasn’t about to let that be a thing. He snagged that bottle he’d attempted to tell her about earlier, and then poured her a glass in a fresh cup, while also sliding two of nine shots on the bar toward her, “Mind if I join you on this shot as an apology for earlier?” he asked, all puppy dog eyes and “Please forgive me’s”

Then he spotted The Great White himself heading in his direction and his heart sank. Luckily, he wouldn’t be caught off guard by the beings natural ice cold presence. Not that it would make anything easier, it was just nice not to have a bucket of freezing water dumped over your head. The woman on his arm looked rich and smitten. Leon’s eyes flitted back to the woman he’d just served. Weren’t they together?

Not my circus, he reminded himself.

He preset a rocks glass with a big rock and set the bottle of whisky he’d poured earlier next to it. Once they hit the bar he’d welcome them back, “What do I have the honor of serving The Savior of Castle Serenno and his…” he trailed off looking back and forth between them deciding it was best to be told what they were rather than guess.

He kept his head on a swivel watching the bar and making sure no one needed anything. About time the bar filled up. He could feel a rush of adrenaline sink in as a picture of him on a tightrope over the mouth of a volcano flashed through his mind.

Not cool brain… Not cool.

With her glass now full and her shots delivered, Sah’ra returned to the guise of a proper member of high society as she offered a smile in return to the bartender. It was about as real as Raze’s performance but given her lifetime of putting on a fake face for those around her, it would be difficult to tell how little she cared for the man or his efforts at appeasing her.

”Apology accepted,” she replied, still smiling as she picked up the shot glass before placing it against her lips and pouring its contents back. She didn’t know what to expect, young people often had such wild variances in what they deemed flavorful these days, but the sweet nectar was a pleasant surprise. Rolling her lips together as she looked back at the now empty shot glass, the woman tenderly placed it back on the counter and slid it back towards Leon with a single finger. ”Especially if you keep providing me with these,” she concluded with a devilish smirk.

Of course, it was hard to miss the woman at her side. Few within the Sith did not know Lady Tiamat, albeit the mask did wonders in shrouding her identity. Perhaps it was more rare for people to have missed the response she had had as she watched Raze escort the Malvern nobility to their place further down the bar. Sah’ra observed her silently for a moment, sensing the rolling waves of… What was this? Jealousy? Resentment? She couldn’t quite place her finger on it but there was no denying something was boiling over within. You only needed eyes to see it; the Force merely made it more prominent.

”Quite the spectacle, wasn’t it?” Sah’ra asked in the woman’s direction as she picked up her glass of wine. ”It would seem the Savior of Castle Serenno makes waves in every circle he touches. You seem… less than entertained, I’ve noticed,” After speaking Sah’ra would motion to a bartender, be it Leon or merely some other faceless buffoon catering to those present, for another pair of shots for the two of them. She let the words hang in the air for it wasn’t her business to pry, but alcohol and jealousy had a way of loosening lips. Whether or not the crimson haired beauty before her would divulge remained a mystery, but she waited all the same.

Rough wasn't enough to describe how this evening was going; she came in hoping to strike interests and connections, leading to a possible late evening of sweeter delights, now has turned into what she felt was a waste. She couldn't say she was surprised by Deva, she was acting in her own best interest as what a sith should do, but somewhat dissatisfied she couldn't finish the dance with the noble who was quickly taken to be checked over. Tia blinked, her focus returning to Leon as he commented on her drink choice. She said nothing, eyes resting on the counter before turning to another woman joining her at the bar, Leon seeming to be under some pressure tonight, forgetting he was a Jedi after all, and could probably feel the waves that ebb and flowed in this castle this evening.

Tia took her drink, feeling the booze hit immediately as she took a rather long sip from the glass. Her eyes widened, blinking several times as her thoughts that were just mulling over the people who were no longer present in this room, now seemed to fade quickly.

She looked at the woman beside her, one who she saw walking with Raze before the show; she was curious to her response or a lack of response. Tiamat starred at Sah'ra for a moment, it would be unclear if she was just finding words that the alcohol dissolved, or just being petty (though it probably was a bit of both for Tia). An eyebrow slowly rose, "I've been to enough of these events where melodramatics is expected." she shrugged, "I'd be more entertained if there was something worth my attention." the woman took another drink from her glass, mentally noting she liked the green layer the best so far.

Just a few seats down, Lady Malvern was enthralled by her company. Whatever the wraith was saying or doing was making her giggle and engage in lively dialogue. She was brushing her hand against his arm and there was all sorts of coziness going on. Some of that was definitely a bit of self importance from having the Savior of Castle Serenno’s attention. Raze had been Emryc Thorne long enough to know how to work charismatic magic and it was fully being utilized here.

Interestingly enough, it was Lady Malvern, not Raze, that was sent over to fetch drinks for them both. A blushing and cheery woman made her way over to where Leon was across Tia and Sah’ra. Malvern accidentally nudged into Tia as she barged right in between the two women to address Leon. She hardly noticed, snapping her fingers, “Boy, two Corellian Sunsets, make it fast,” She said impatiently.

Leon was relieved when the woman accepted his apology. He took the moment to shoot his whisky in celebration. “Sounds fair,” he replied, with an equally pleasant expression.

His eyes flicked to Tia who was just taking a sip of the green chartreuse section of the drink. The sheer amount of alcohol she’d just consumed baffled Baudelaire and the delighted expression on her face made him fear her more than he already did. She was either an actual monster or about to be aggressively drunk.

Leon’s gaze landed on a pair of moonlight eyes and his smile widened. Then it was kaboshed by the most annoying voice he’d ever heard. He managed to keep the smile he’d hoped to share with Jayna plastered on his face and this woman wasted it.

Coming right up, ma’am!” he said. His hands went to work. He took two coup glasses and filled them with ice and soda water. He used the same whisky he poured earlier. The Corellian Sunset was a whisky riff on the original Tatooine Sunset. Once he’d filled two tin’s with their ingredients he tapped both on the bar and started to shake. He flipped the first tin up, placed the second on the bar, caught the first tin, dumped the sodawater and ice then filled the first up. He repeated the same process with the second, minus the flip, then garnished with a couple of maraschino cherries wrapped in an orange peel.

Whole process took forty-five seconds, at most.

There you are, I hope you enjoy!” god he hated himself right now.

Out of the corner of his eye he could see someone closing in. He looked toward the newcomer and his heart sank. Tilly had shown up…

Yo, man thanks for covering me, uh, this is kinda awkward, but Doth said to fuck off.
Yeah, I figured. Good luck, fun crowd tonight.

Before he left he refilled Tia’s drink and slid the other woman another shot before dapping up Tilly and fucking off. Once he was off the ballroom floor he’d pull out his EZphone and shoot Jayna a text, Always a pleasure, Heiress. Let’s catch up soon?

At some point while he was trying to write that sad excuse of an "I miss you," Doth had started screaming at him, but Neon didn't care, he was only focused on one thing, getting the fuck off Serenno.

With practiced grace, Jayna crossed the ballroom with Jasnah on her arm - practically gliding with every, sweeping step. Given who her parents were, it was no secret that the Heiress knew how to maneuver across the dancefloor, and the faintest hint of a smile that brushed her lips indicated how much she enjoyed it.

She had no qualms leading Jasnah through their dance - routinely dipping the Imperial Diplomat or twirling the woman beneath her arm. Even still, Jayna couldn’t quite help the way that her gaze flicked over towards the commotion occurring across the dancefloor, and towards the figure that had earlier captured her attention.

Up until the moment that Jasnah pulled her close once more - demanding to maintain every ounce of the Heiress’ attention. Her lips tugged upwards and into a sideways grin, gaze lingering until she opted to twirl beneath her partner’s raised hand.

“It is like you said,” She said after a pause, pulling the woman close to sway against her. “The outcomes here are often far more rewarding.” Without warning, Jayna pulled the woman around with a spin, leaving Jasnah positioned with her back against the Heiress’ chest. Her hips continued to sway, fingers intertwined with Jasnah’s own.

“Or perhaps I merely enjoy the company.” She said smoothly. With that, Jayna finally took a step back - turning to face the woman as their song came to a close. Her eyes flicked over to the open bar where others gathered, the commotion having already largely died down. She took a few steps in that direction, gesturing for Jasnah. “Can I offer you something to drink?”

Whether Jasnah followed or not, Jayna began to migrate in that direction - slipping towards the counter. The wave of her fingers flagged down a droid with a flute of something sparkling, the glass promptly pressed to her lips.

“My ladies,” She offered a tilt of her head. Her silvery gaze promptly flicked over to the man quickly dubbed the Savior of their gathering. “My Lord.” She gestured with her own glass. Of course, that was roughly when the message from Leon rang across her commlink - drawing her attention down to the bracelet that discretely masked the device.

Though she said nothing, Jayna’s gaze flicked towards the Castle exit - those piercing silvers lingering there far longer than necessary.

Tia barely got out her last word before the muffy, Lady Malvern, shoved her way in between herself and the woman she was speaking with just seconds earlier. It was enough of a push to nearly spill her drink onto herself as the Serenno woman started snapping her fingers and calling for some drinks. At first Tiamat was shocked at the arrogance the woman carried, but she was clearly the product of Serenno in-breeding for a pure family line. Or at least Tia concluded to herself given the lack of awareness that the noblewoman carried. Her blue gaze stabbed like daggers before she broke her focus to Leon who seemed to want to throw himself out a window as he prepared the drinks.

She resisted the urge to even look at Lady Malvern who continued to give flirt eyes to the Savior of Serenno. The dissatisfaction to punch Deva earlier could possibly be satisfied with punching this noble square in the face, she just seemed the type. Tia finished the rest of her drink, not bothering to wait on a refill and decided perhaps it was time to leave for the evening.

The redheaded woman turned from the counter and started her way out when she paused, hearing a too familiar voice. She wanted to brush it off but she couldn't, her instinct told her otherwise. Tia turned to see a young woman nearly a full-head-height over the other patrons of the party, her silver eyes momentarily locked elsewhere and it was unmistakably, her niece, Jayna...and she was unreasonably close to Raze.

She felt her stomach drop as she returned back to the bar, approaching Jayna (@Altaris), wanting to teleport her back to her home on Naboo where Jaikus and Emryc could keep an eye on her. Her fingers brushed against her forearm to gain her attention, "Enjoying the evening?" she asked Jayna despite internally she was screaming.
