Such words normally wouldn't have incensed her so much.
But it was that look, the words, that sank into her mind. She suddenly remembered Felucia; no one had cared then. All of her efforts, all of her pain, to be tossed aside like a broken thing once the battle had been lost. Walking amongst the rainforest, knowing that none of them actually cared. That the Darkness was her only true companion; even she abandoned her.
You are nothing but an insect. A lowly, crawling thing.
Her fists balled, and her gaze once more flicked to Raze, her gaze icy. These words were nothing new to her. They were the very same words she heard when the spice withdrawals hit, hard enough to leave her shaking, panting and screaming in her own cold sweat and agony, body twisting as bones shattered and blood frothed from her mouth. Pain was nothing new to her, but this cold humiliation...
Hearing them reflected, in the low undertones of his voice, was enough to finally snap something inside of her.
"As if there would ever be any doubt," she muttered, mostly to herself. The message had come clear across. She took one step away from him, then another step. Darkness seethed in her bones, began to spread from her body in wraithlike shadows as she continued to apply pressure to the male's throat, but kept her gaze locked on Tiamat at the bar.
You can stand on your high horse and sneer at me all you like, your hands are just as red as the rest of us.
When she at last posed next to Tiamat, her voice was cool, calm, and yet... a knife's edge, a humming almost predatory anticipation lurked beneath, watchful, waiting.
"It's a pity, you both danced so well together. But it seems... he got a little choked up."
She didn't disguise it from neither Tia nor Raze at this point, Shadows curling around the man's throat and applying visible pressure, hard enough to make the man black out, or possibly die if she wasn't distracted. Her voice was quiet, still staring Tiamat down.
"Do I disgust you so? I apologize... I so loathe distractions."
