Hello everyone! Lots of exciting things going on very recently, so I figured a Newsletter was in order.
First of all, I hope everyone has seen both BN's and Phœnix's resignation threads. Please wish them both farewell and give thanks for all they've done for this faction! Both of them got the Sith moving again and pushed us forward into better, more exciting things. We wouldn't be where we are today without them.
The natural question to ask then is about the leadership team moving forward. I have accepted the mantle of Faction Leader and will be shuffling my characters around to accommodate that (shoot me a message if you're interested in what that means :P). I also have two AFLs willing to come aboard with me and help out. Please give a warm welcome and a pat on the back to @Relent and @Deviant. I'm excited to have them on our team and see what crazy shenanigans we can get everyone into.
Next, main battles! The Zeltros threads will be wrapping up at the end of this week and hopefully when they are finished it won't take terribly long to get rulings on them so we can finally get that square colored RED! :D Speaking of squares colored red, we have actually captured the Saluecami square, Bolli just hasn't updated the map quite yet. Other main battles that will be coming up soon include Serenno and Onderon. By the time those finish up, we'll definitely be looking at a few more as well. So keep up the good work everyone and participate in these open threads!
On the opposite end of PvP are non combat oriented story arcs. Piggybacking off of @Vosrik's wonderful idea that he presented to his faction here, we will be doing something very similar. The goal of these story arcs is to have faction wide storylines that can have a big impact on the overall site's story and on everyone's characters. More specifics will be included when the story arc is posted in the missions board, please keep an eye out for it, we want everyone to participate!
Finally, I know many of you have been wondering why the heck we still don't have any Sith Lords up in here. The fact of the matter is that this rank denotes leadership both ICly in the war effort as well as OOCly in the faction. Plus, once these spots are filled it's pretty much impossible for anyone to gain those ranks without challenging one of the current Darths to a fight to the death. There are lots of factors that go into this kind of promotion, but to help move things along we will be holding a sort of tournament very soon. More details on that when it's posted, as well.
Taking over as FL on short notice has me feeling somewhat unprepared for it all, but I'll do my best to keep the faction moving forward smoothly. Any questions, comments, or suggestions can always be PM'd to me, I welcome any and all ideas! :D
