BIOGRAPHY
A lifetime servant of Manaan, Tortus Graa, has dedicated his life to the betterment of his people. In his youth, that service was done in the Manaan Security Force where he partook actively in his worlds military. He would serve twenty five years in the military, retiring at age 43 at the rank of Colonel. Even once he attained higher ranks, Graa would be seen leading his troopers into skirmishes at the front, where firsthand he saw the necessity of his homeworlds primary resource: Kolto. What would prompt his retirement was him jumping on a live detonator with his helmet covering the device and absorbing much of the blast. However, he would do irreparable damage to his left leg and require a prosthetic.
Following his retirement, Graa would enter the diplomatic service, rising slowly through the ranks as he learned how to navigate the political landscape. His military record as well as stance on 'people first' would win him favor with the people of Manaa. Putting his people first, he would enact numerous policies benefitting his people. This has included the welcoming of Blackwell Tech to open up offices on his homeworld and the transition of using their connection to Blackwell to reduce sentient military personnel and replace them with droids in an effort to alleviate the loss of life.
Having won recent elections, Graa now serves as the Senator of Manaan. With the ongoing war, as well as the AMS threat, he must now question where Manaan's future lies. The F.W.A has proven ineffective as of late but between the New Republic, who has begun to not only fight the Sith, but spear-headed many mercy missions across the galaxy and the ISC, whose great promise could only be stunted by their relative adolescent phase, only the future knows what lies ahead for Graa and his people.
Personality
A military man, Graa is both pragmatic and calculated in his approach. He often puts the needs of his people before himself. Oftentimes, this leads him into odds with other politicians on his world, as he has no qualms in back door meetings if it gets the job done. He has a deep respect for anyone who has served and his direct approach also means he doesn't play the with silvered tongues.
Skills
Graa is a skilled marksman, and though he is retired, he still trains regularly with his blaster. He is a skilled tactician as well as leader, though his biggest weakness has to be his current physical capabilities. Having a fake leg, that he refused to have made into a cybernetic, Graa is slow in his movement.
