New Midvale Marina
Chandrila - Republic Space

It was almost high noon when the bus full of tourists and socialites pulled up to the front gates of the marina. The brakes of the bus hissed and her front doors folded wide out and open into the warm summer air. Allowing the endless stream of citizens and vacationers an escape out into the steaming summer's heat. All those happy people descending upon the marina for it's newest zoo attraction. The Beacon Fish. Unveiled just this weekend with special show pricing for attendance. It was every child's dream and every parents proudest summer excursion. A modern ocean getaway perfect for the whole family. One fish-filled vacation coming right up!

Alas. Orders were orders. The staff of the New Midvale Marina had been linked just yesterday to the Blackbirds Cartel. A posh smuggling organization that worked most of the southern continents. They had money and excellent political connections. So the local police and federal forces were forced to ask for help. They needed a Black Investigation into the Cartel with a zero percent chance to be detected. So what they got were the best. What they got were the Jedi.

Jessica Cloud stepped off the bus with a smile to bright blue front gates of the attraction park and research center. She wore white linen robes that mimicked the Tetra Priesthood. A local sect to Chandrila. A notoriously quiet harem of monks and nuns who practiced pacifism and herbal enlightenment. An excellent public disguise for a Jedi. Even on such a hot summer afternoon. It allowed Jessica to be swaddled up in humble religious attire similar to Jedi robes, all without giving away her true allegiance to the Force. For, there are many on Chandrila who would be able to spot a brown robed Jedi on sight. Best to remain disguised. Best to keep a quiet investigation very, very quiet. And besides? Who says you can't look good in white preachers aways?

Lynn Petra was only one step behind her dear companion Jess. The beautiful Zeltron woman equally as disguised as a Tetra nun as Jessica Cloud. However, even her light linen robes could not hide her outrageous curves and long blonde hair. Together the two Jedi Knights were stunners indeed. Winking to each other and strutting forth into the attendance lines. Every step like a million dollars. Their regal posture and perfect form made it hard to play the invisible tourist today. Even as they veiled their heads and their hair with a long white scarf. Completing their initiation as nothing more than sisters of the cloth. Completing their disguise as anything but sneaky-sneaky magi.

"Jess. Perhaps we should wait for the others?" Lynn replied as they neared the ticketing booth.

"Ah. Of course. I forgot we had asked for help on this one. Right you are." Jess giggled with a smile.

And so both women turned and sit down in the shade of the bright afternoon. Perched underneath an apple tree, the two women awaited the arrival of their other Jedi companions. Hoping that the disguises they had sent ahead to their friends would be rather well-played. Secret investigations are super secret you know? We're not just here for a grand Sea World vacation, are we? Oh no no no. ...But still? Kudos to the summer heat. Better look the vacationing part.

Just in case.

The chair hummed as kip drifted across the pathway leading to their final destination....the marina. Kip look over to his padawan and smirked,

"Have you ever seen a Colo Claw Fish?..... Nasty bogers they are..."

Kip played a role of a mere crippled elderly man, with only the aid of cruches or a walker could he be assisted in waltzing down the lane without his chair. He dawned his white robe and trimmed his hair to appear as if he was a clean cut man, surrounded by either his beautiful maids and caretakers or just his sexy female slaves.....

View attachment 3325

Kip looked carefully to those watching as they approached the gate, unsure of who or what they would come across. But none the less kip was filled with excitement amidst his old frame as soon as he seen a far too familiar face, his close friend jess.

The wind blew the fragrance of numerous sweet smells of junk food and snacks as they gained closer and closer. Children running to the gates as they seperated themselves from their families and friends, only to be scolded for being to far out of reach. Squeels of excitement filled the air as the younglings anticipated their adventures within this....this....'world of sea'....

As they approached the two fellow knights, kip placed his hand upon Jess' shoulder as he pulled her close for a hug.

"It is an honor to spend such a 'day' with you two."

Kip looked to his shadow and smiled,

"This is Aashurii Sevi, she will be joinin us today.."

Wow,” the girl whispered quietly as she followed her master’s chair, him clearing a path through the crowds that had come to see the aquatic attractions. The deep purple of the girl’s eyes darted from sign to sign, person to person- there were so many species here! So many languages flooding the area. The Force was so powerful as they walked through the proverbial ocean of life. Sevi was careful to keep herself from smiling too obviously- Jedi weren’t supposed to be so easily amused. She met her master’s eye as he spoke to her.

“Have you ever seen a Colo Claw Fish? …Nasty bogers they are…”

I’ve never had the opportunity,” she replied, frowning a little at the name. It sounded familiar, but she couldn’t place it. “They’re native to… I can’t remember,” she admitted with a shrug. “There weren’t a lot of oceans on the Smuggler’s Moon, nor in the spice mines. Maybe we’ll get the chance to see one while we’re visiting,” she tried to disguise her hopes that they might have the chance for some recreation during the visit. She was thankful for the distraction of the oceans though; it gave her something to focus on other than the butterflies in her stomach. She was on an actual mission! She hid her smile away again- not proper for a Jedi.

Sevi was further humored by the notion of her master posing as an old cripple- she carried his crutches for him while he floated through the masses on his chair. Maybe he just didn’t want to walk, she thought with a small hidden smile. She had heard of Kip long before she had ever actually met him, he was well respected throughout the Knights and she made it a point to be familiar with the more significant Knights during her time as a youngling. It had come as a real shock when she learned he’d selected her, of all options, as his Padawan.

The strange scents were distracting, various junk foods flowing in to her nose, the cool breeze off the water offering respite from the sun’s heat. It was pleasant. But it was not enough a distraction to keep her from recognizing the two Jedi they were here to meet- she didn’t know their faces, but she could feel their strength with the Force clearly even despite the large crowds gathered around. Sure enough, her master floated over to the two and embraced the one. They must have been friends. With her introduction she offered a small bow, large enough to be respectable but not so low as to attract the attention of passersbys, to the two Knights.

An honor to meet you both,” she said quietly. She was amused at what an odd team they must look like to the random people wandering the marina. Kip playing the role of an old crippled man, the two Knights dressed as nuns, and then Sevi. Given her master’s disguise, it made sense to play the servant to his cripple- she wasn’t dressed at just a general slave, though only because they didn’t wear enough clothing to hide a weapon. Instead, she was dressed in a simple white gown that flowed down to her feet it was form fitting enough to hint that the old man had still selected it but not so much so as to reveal her lightsaber which she kept on her upper leg, easily accessible via a slit in the gown that also served to show some of the lavender skin of her right leg.

So…” she added after a moment, nearly overflowing with excitement, “what comes first?”

"Welcome friends."

Jess beamed a smile and accepted Kip's hug with a tight embrace. He was a strong and proud species, Koom was. Even in his near-human form she could feel the strength of nature that made him exactly what he was. It was comforting to have him nearby.

"Well. We're still waiting on one more for this little misadventure of ours. But I suppose we can jump right in?"

Jess turned to Lynn and they both nodded. Might as well spell it out. So the blonde Lynn Petra stepped forward and spoke in a smooth, strong flowery voice.

"Welcome brother Kip and sister Aashurri. Sister Jessica and I are happy to have you along today." She winked with a wire grin, "To begin. We've asked you here because we need an extra pair of eyes. The Federal Commission, Jess and mine employers, are convinced that a local spice trade is taking place undercover. Right here. At this very same Marina."

Jess nodded to her partner and stepped in,

"So, we are all gathered here simply to have a look around and to see just how the Cartels are managing to accomplish this sneaky feat. Naturally. We are looking for anything unusual. Anything, that might be out of place in their entertainment venues. Signs of criminal activity or paramilitary build up. Such as..."

"Bingo. Irregularities such as: too many guards. Too many guns. Too many restricted sections and perhaps stories of visitors gone missing. Anything that might be out of place for such a common tourist trap as this one." Lynn chimed in.

"Exactly. Anything out of the ordinary. See, feel, or sensed through the Force. Whatever you have to do. Indeed. This marina should be nothing more than a spectacle for it's visitors and a quiet research station for it's fish. Unfortunately. If there is a criminal syndicate behind this place? We should know it pretty quickly. This Cartel isn't exactly known for it's stealth. That's for sure."

"Yes. These kinds of things do tend to stick out rather badly. Especially to our... Special senses." Lynn nodded.

Cloud and Petra seemed be in a solid agreement. Whatever was happening behind the scenes at New Midvale? It was sure to rather blatant and obvious at this point. Though. It was a giant park. Just walking it's many streets and byways could take hours.

Jess looked to the ticketing booth once more and nodded,

"Ah. Okay. We've asked everybody here in disguise so that we can explore the marina as it's guests. This should give us an excellent amount of freedom inside the park without appearing out-of-place with the local security or research teams. Our Day Passes will be good for the entire afternoon and evening. So... There will be no reason to rush anything either. We're here to be tourists. So don't worry about acting like one. Hehe. Fun and games, an all."

Lynn sighed, "It should be mentioned that we have no emergency resources here though. Quick escapes or police backup are currently, out of the question. So it is imperative that we all remain composed, disguised, and simply skirt about. No fighting. No bodies. No broken security cameras if we can help it either. This need not be a difficult assignment. With enough evidence? We can let the government boys do all the heavy lifting. No need to get Tython involved anymore than we already are. It's just a recon mission. In and out, and on with life. Easy as pie."

Jess shrugged. She and Lynn might have been Jedi Inquisitors but that didn't mean Kip or Aashurri were ready for real police combat missions yet. The political consequences alone would have been a disaster for the Council if they were caught or identified. The Blackbird Cartel had the protection of many government officials and politicians. If they discovered that the Jedi Knights were investigating them now too? Oh no. What a mess that would be. No. Best to keep the mission simple. Best to keep it light.

Cloud eyed the parking lot and nodded to Lynn,

"Hey sister. Aren't we still expecting one more?"

Petra smiled, "Indeed we are my dear. Let's give them just a few more minutes. Ah. ...And I don't think they have my phone number either?"

Jess withdrew her pink Sim-phone and checked her messages. It was, a rather un-nun-like thing to do.

"Well. She has mine. But no messages yet either. ...Oh well. I guess a few more minutes in the shade won't kill us. Hehe."

Cloud and Petra turned to Kip and his Apprentice.

"You two are free to stick with us as we stroll around the park. Or... Feel free to break away as a team and go exploring yourselves. We have all afternoon. So don't feel rushed into anything."

"Yes." Lynn nodded, "And we'll keep the Battle Mind open for you too. If you need to talk? Just pass us a message through the Force. Jess and I are always connected telepathically through our Force Bond. So we'll hear you clearly. No matter the distance."

Jess smiled and returned to her seat under the apple tree. Mission Briefing Complete. Now all they had to do was greet there Plus-One and let the adventure begin!

Solaris%20uncover.jpg

Apparently Solaris didn't get the memo that they were all wearing white. She internally chastised herself for not asking for more specific detail on the nature of the assignment. Thought the arraignment she wore was picked out by herself to be age appropriate and in trend with this particular sector of Chandrila. The local Rennie's, those young men and woman wishing to emulate Old Chandrila style with a modern edge, in the awaiting crowd seemed to appreciate her choice. A couple of the young men bowing their heads with smiles and come hither glances. Solaris rolled her brown eyes and slightly shook her head as she approached the group. As it was an uncover mission she simply waved with and embarrassed smile. "Helllo, I am Solaris."

She looked at the rest of her fellow Jedi with a slight concern for her appearance with them. Solaris had done the research required to blend in with her own age group but evidently she opted for attire closer to her own personal taste though a bit more stylish than her own normal wear. Then the realization hit her that the attire they all wore was indicative of a particular religious order know for practicing pacifistic rites, herbal enlightenment, and open love. Her embarrassment of clothing choice quickly faded.

Though she had only seen Jessica and Petra in passing on Tython, Solaris was more familiar with them than the other two Jedi present mostly because her former Master spoke at great length about Jedi Cloud's skill with that oft awkward look he got when she knew he was talking about one thing and think something completely different. Like her body. Cloud was an attractive woman so was her companion the Zeltron. If Solaris actually cared about her 'attractiveness' she probably would feel some inferiority about herself.

She held up her sim-phone. "I did get your message , but it's kiind of hard to reply when you need both hands for the swoopbike." Well it is when you want to not showoff or implicate your a Force user. Solaris could have easily guided the swoopbike with no hands and replied back.

Kip smiled, giving jess a grin as she mentioned the mission being 'in and out' chuckling he commented

"Ive heard that before..."

Looking to sevi, handing her a small bag of coin he motioned

"Wouldn't you be a dear and purchase our tickets"

Awaiting for sevi to step off he turned to the other two as he noticed from the corner of his eye another approaching.

"Hello im Solaris."

Turning to the female as she addressed herself Kip smiled and overlooked the girl, searching amidst her presence in the force. Kip had no knowledge of said jedi, which intrigued the Neti.

"Welcome, im afraid i havent had the pleasure of meeting you before."

Reaching out kip offered his hand, not just a a friendly gesture but also hoping to get a feel for her within the force as a whole, only wanting to know her possible future rather than her past.

Looking to Lynn, he questioned

"Is the party all here?"

Searching over his shoulder for Sevi and her return he smiled as he made eye contact with his padawan. Kip was nervous for bringing his companion along for the mission. He knew far to well how fast things could go wrong, and hoped they didnt.

"Shall we?"

Kip added as he slowly made his way towards the gate.

"I will take Sevi, to the western portion and work our way down to the south and report with you in a few hours."

"Sounds good." Lynn nodded to Kip.

Jess understood and turned back to their newcomer. Solaris.

"Welcome to Chandrila, Sister Solaris. You are right, on, time. Hehe."

Jess took a few moments to bring the fashionable girl up to speed. Giving her the same briefing that the others had also received. Outlining the mission and reminding her to keep it simple. Then Jess and Lynn nodded underneath the apple tree and motioned for them to begin.

"Sister Aashurri is grabbing the other's tickets. We should do likewise and begin our search."

"I agree Sister Lynn." Jess smiled and winked to Solaris. Moving closer to the new girl and alighting a fire in her deep brown eyes, "...Hehe. So? Shall we?"

Jess put out her hand and took Solaris' into her own. Weaving their fingers together in a bond of common friendship and to celebrate new arrivals. Breaking the touch barrier between two strong Jedi women and smiling like a little schoolgirl into the first steps of a new destiny. This was how the warm summer started for the party. No,

This, was where the fun begins.

...Twenty Minutes Later

Jess and Lynn had wandered into a gift shop nearer the food courts. It was crowded with people and the two Jedi Knights divided their time between picking out absolutely fabulous stuffed animals, and snooping about for clues. The eager smells of roasted turkey and cinnamon buns was also calling their name. Mmm. Oh man. Might have to do some snooping around for some lunch too. Yum!

Jess bought herself a plushy killer whale and nodded happily to Petra. This was turning out to be the best police investigation ever.
