"It was supposed to hurt, you big baby." A small smile graced Mau's lips, a smile that was quickly replaced with a more stern expression that probably would have been much more effective if the smile wasn't determined to stay were it was.
"I don't think you know what you're really getting yourself into. Do you really want to be stuck with this," She gestured at herself, "crazy lady that is me?"

"You'd be amazed how many times I've heard that 'I really don't know what I'm getting in to', and you know what? I'm still here discussing this with you, so I'd figure that I have more of an idea than I'm usually given credit for... And there's no stuck about it; if you get sick of me or for some reason don't like the way that I conduct business, I walk away, no questions asked... Now is that really so bad a deal?"
Rayz new that he had a convincing argument, as when he put his mind to it, he could convince anyone into anything, but he was absolutely certain that a partnership with Mau would be like none other he had ever been a part of. He was actually just curious to see what would happen in the days to come...

Mau bit her bottom lip, thinking. She still wasn't sure she liked this new found closeness, but he posed a valid point. They worked well together; exploiting this they could make a lot more than they did on their own...
"Bugger, why not? It might actually be fun. And I know it will be profitable."

"Up for another drink are we? I was under the impression that you weren't feeling so well from our last trip to the cantina..." Rayz stated.
"Well if I still have to earn it, I'm guessing the next round's on me," he asked?
Rayz chuckled and asked, "do you need some help, or can you make it back to the cantina on your own?"
Despite the joke, Rayz stood up and offered his hand to Mau to help her up.

"Well, now I feel like celebrating our partnership. I havn't properly over done it yet." Mau replied stubbornly. "And you're buying whether you like it or not."
She excepted the offered hand and stumbled to her feet, a good deal more disoriented than she had thought she was. Still, her pride was such that she wasn't going to let him know that. A stubborn set to her jaw she let go of his hand, balancing precariously on her own.

Rayz chuckled again and stated, "in my experience, it takes a stronger person to ask for help when it is needed, than it does to ignore needed help when it is offered, but it makes little difference to me..."
He smiled at her arrogance. As a matter of fact, he actually found it a bit attractive. Rayz led the way back to the cantina that they had left only a short while ago, but he made sure to stay close enough to Mau to offer help should she decide to use it...

Mau made no responce to his statement other than giving him a very malicious glance. She had accepted his help earlier, been greatful for it even. But now her pride had crawled out of whatever hole it had been hiding in and she was determined not to depend on him so much again.
It was difficult, but to her credit she managed keep upright and follow in a relatively straight line. So long as she didn't try to think clearly, it was almost easy.
When they reached the Cantina she even went so far as to hold the door open for him, smiling jauntily.

The same Ithorian barkeep was behind the bar, and he again brought a bottle of whiskey and a glass to Rayz. Rayz pulled a chair out for Mau to sit in, and after she was seated, he sat down himself.
"Same poison," he asked, "or would you prefer something a little stronger this time?"
The same sly smirk that Rayz had shown Mau so many times before appeared again after he asked the question...

His ability to sense his surroundings had been greatly diminished by drink, and his entire focus was now solely on Mau. Because it was Mau who wanted another drink though, he would not call it quits until she said that she'd had enough.

She sighed, pushing her drink away. "I think... I think that's enough..." She looked faintly green, though she shrugged it off. She wasn't about to be sick, not here with him.
