Introduction
I am a long-time member of the forum, by some measures, but have often taken hiatus' away from the forum. My first excursion into RP was intensive; I had a hand in creating some of the most popular created content on the forum, including Zhenxing, the Initiative, and others. At times my creations were contentious, but I have always sought to develop new opportunities for the member base, expand people's horizons, and shape their perspectives. At one time, I was the Galactic Alliance FL; this was very short-lived and what followed was a tumultuous time in my private life, including the death of my grandma, my family cat who'd been in my life since I was a boy, struggling with finishing my undergraduate degree, then graduate school, adjusting to a new, stressful job, and finally I am currently in the process of finding a personal injury lawyer to seek compensation for damages to my girlfriend when she was struck by a car while crossing a cross-walk while also trying to determine my uncertain future and coping with job instability.

That said, regardless of my life's instability, it has stabilized significantly over the past year, and my schedule is no longer flying all over the place. Earlier in 2015 I expressed an interest in returning to the forum, but felt the timeline was too far along to make a difference. Now, I aim to get out at the front of the timeline, make an impact, have characters that everyone has heard of, and hopefully met once or twice, and while I don't care about being the most powerful or renowned character on the forum, I want people to be invested in my characters and read the RP's they are involved in. I also want to help shape other people's stories, learn from new talent, and try to develop unique perspectives into traditional and nontraditional narratives.

Check out my characters and creations below, give feedback, or even get involved by pitching ideas for interaction. I'm exceptionally accommodating and looking for a cooperative experience. I'm actively involved in the Six Degrees of the Force project, and firmly believe that any relationship - adversarial or cooperative - is a good relationship.

Physically, Asura is an attractive human female with silver hair, pale golden skin, eyes which are vary between dark brown to bright red depending on how attuned with the Force she is at any given moment. She has a slender frame, is of average height for a woman, and is approaching her late 20's. When she is not piloting a starfighter she is often dressed in bright red and gold regalia, being her favored colors. She maintains an active lifestyle, keeping her body in good condition and eating a high calorie, low carbohydrate diet. She is fickle, complaining when she is unable to have things as she'd like. She has a steady hand and has a tendency to stay calm and think fast under pressure, though in any crisis one must often quickly eliminate the best choices and make decisions for a more limited timeframe.

Due to her upbringing, many would consider her spoiled or arrogant. She often looks down on others who are less capable than her unless she shares a personal relationship with that individual. Comparing her physical and mental capabilities with a person often forms the baseline of her opinion about that individual, though her attitude can be shaped by performance. Her arrogance drives her to perfection, as she constantly strives to become better than those who are superior to her.

Her drive for strength often encourages her to ignore the weak. Hubris is among her greatest weaknesses; although she is careful to not allow her own personal considerations of an opponent to not impact her own performance, she is not always successful. She disdains abusing the weak and defenseless, seeing the weak and misguided as no threat. She appreciates the beauty in life and often relaxes to music, preferring the pulsing beat and kick of the bass to mundane tasks many of her peers might commit themselves to to channel their power.

BIOGRAPHY

This lack of disappointment created a longing for something different within her, and she constantly wanted to explore the Galaxy and see what else existed out there. As an adolescent she struck out on her own, forging her own destiny. Her caring family dared not rebuke her for this, and instead enabled her to learn through her experiences as safely as possible, empowering her with their fortune. Asura used this wealth to buy significant training piloting a number of craft. Her favored among them quickly became the starfighter, and with this she plied the trade lanes of the Galaxy in the hunt for new experiences.

Teeming up with a band of mercenaries tasked with securing trade lanes against pirates, she learned about the two-bit nature of criminals who, on one hand were paid to secure lanes, and on the other attacked them when the money ran dry. She became well known for her deftness at the joystick and her ability to dogfight, which saw her assigned to even more dangerous and lucrative tasks in the Outer Rim. She became increasingly less dependent on her family's wealth, disregarding their existence entirely in time, and sought her fortune elsewhere. It was there, in the Outer Rim, that she first encountered the fabled Sacred Band of Ziost; little more than a band of mercenaries now, but fierce adversaries nonetheless. After several engagements, the mercenary corporation she was employed with sought to negotiate a mutually beneficial agreement with the Sacred Band's benefactors, and Asura was assigned to the task.

It was on this assignment that she would have her first encounter with the Sith. Unsure of what to think in their presence, and with only legends and fables to help her understand them, she was curious about them. On her first encounter she asked a myriad number of questions which the Sith chuckled in amusement at, though he had become more intrigued when he learned of her combat prowess. "I have felt your presence in combat," he had remarked. Asura had laughed, retorting that her enemies never left an engagement alive. "I sense the Force within you."

It was those words that had lingered in Asura's mind for the days and weeks that had followed. It was those words that caused her to betray her employer and return to the Sith who had spoken them. Those words which had caused her to pledge herself to the Sith; she knew that there was more to her future than simply being a mercenary, and she was determined to discover it.

Been reading up on the announcements and noticed the 1 main faction at a time limit. So, Dalhan will have to be Independent for a while, doing jobs for whoever, while Asura will be my main faction character. Janek will have to wait until later, which is probably for the best because I've never been super good at juggling more than 2 characters.

As a comment, I'm a bit disappointed about the lack of real military's available to any of the factions. Sith and Jedi are warrior monks, Senate are politicians, Border Alliance are a ragtag band of missfits, and so are Sacred Band. (And no Antarian Rangers or comparable, sadly) I'm sure the counter argument will be that it should form organically through RP as it develops, but there will be a dissonance in membership; misfits will rarely cooperate with authority in RP, unlike RL. Then again, the military factions were previously never really active anyways... lack of character-driven RP outside of participating in battles is what I chalk it up to. Anyways, Janek is on the backburner and I'll work on Dalhan tomorrow.

I personally see the BA as less rag-tag. While there is no formal central structure, at least not yet, they are a collection of world's militaries. Comparable to a NATO or Warsaw Pact. I think they will have considerable military clout, theyre rag-tag-ness only coming from the dysfunction of having no central command.

So I think its a viable option for folks who want to be soldiering for their RPs, personally.

Rall is, first and foremost, a warrior and a commander. Instilled with the knowledge to fight wars, the grace to kill, and the concern and patience to lead the best, he has left behind his connections to a life best forgotten. Instead, he has replaced this lost fragment of himself with newfound zeal and conviction to the Sith. He has witnessed dark miracles, undeniable skill, and brutal intellect at the spearhead of a group which he knows are the fittest to lead the Galaxy forward to enlightenment.

He despises hesitation, weakness, and un-reciprocated compassion. He acts on his hatred slowly and patiently, but in the end, severely and deadly. His driving purpose in life has become the Sith Order, and he has found his own power through their teachings. Freedom through strength, security and justice through power, embracing ones true self. He is no longer beholden, as his kin are, to others perceptions of him; of his honor or integrity, his skill, or his future. He is his own man, and has internalized redefined these terms at a personal level, caring only what others think of him when it could impact his own survival. He is, for lack of a better word, a zealot of the Sith, dedicated thoroughly to serving and empowering them. Through that power he will find strength for himself, knowing he will never be fit to replace them, but that they will always find purpose and meaning in him so long as he stays sharp, and most importantly, loyal to the cause.

BIOGRAPHY
[fancybox4="http://i64.tinypic.com/28tmhe.png"]Born a Mandalorian on the world of Concord Dawn, Arkon Rall was always expected to maintain a level of integrity and stability by his community. Taught all the essentials of Mandalorian culture - language, culture, combat - it never sat well with Arkon to blindly believe in others beliefs of ones self. He rebelled against his family and their expectations, set far too high he believed, and sought solace in his adolescence with his friend, his comrade - his love - Olix Ordo. Olix comforted him, always trying to guide him back to the straight and narrow path of the Mandalorian, but always there to listen and accept Rall's frustrations. Through the years the two would grow even closer, sparring with each other on the field of battle in friendly tournaments of skill on air, land, sea and eventually even space.

Olix was his superior in many aspects, but Rall was always driven to learn from him; his drive to be like his lover helped to mask his own rebellious nature from his clan. But this was not to last; the two would be deployed to take action against pirates raiding trade routes near their world, an action which would turned out far bloodier than necessary. He felt it was because of his own people's intransigence, their incapacity to see beyond their own noses, and when Olix's body drifted lifelessly through space, Rall had nothing holding him back. The negotiations with the pirates turned sour and Rall drew his blaster on his squad leader - his own father - in the midst of it all, gunning him down before surrendering to the corsairs. He had done so for the mans suicidal folly which saw the deaths of more than half of his men, he had taken revenge for his love, but everything he knew was stripped from him.

The corsairs had witnessed Rall's betrayal and debated between recruiting him or ransoming him back to the Mandalorians. "Having a Mandalorian by our side, that could count for something," one of them had said. The corsair commander had thought on it for several days, then interrogated Rall, learning of the man's own disloyalty to his own culture, even of the fact that he had disowned everything he was by becoming a kinslayer. The lopsided grin that he gave would eventually rub off on Rall and he gave him the freedom to rule his own life. Rall fought alongside the corsairs for years to come, but eventually a crackdown by local law enforcement led to the group disbanding. Like several others, Rall followed the corsair leader along to a mercenary company, and for several more years they put down revolts, were paid well and spent that well on brothels, bars and drugs. Through it all, many of the corsairs that had followed the commander now looked more to Rall for his skill, leadership, and more importantly, his loyalty to his friends. When the mercenary company was disbanded by law, many of the veteran corsairs that had served alongside Rall for the better part of a decade looked to him for a new path in life.

But Rall lacked purpose. He had tired of killing for money, with no end in sight, no greater impact on the shape of the galaxy. There was so much that needed changing. Rumors stirred beyond the far reaches of the Outer Rim, in the dark stars that barely clung to the gravitic field of the galaxy, that the Sith had returned. He had learned of the Sith as myths and rumors, almost legendary figures who sought to unite the galaxy through power. He had live in the Republic long enough to despise it, and so he made the journey, along with his comrades, to where the Sith were. As criminals, they had the connections necessarily to find them, although even then doing so was difficult. At times, Rall felt he only discovered the Sith because they chose to allow it.

His first meeting with the Sith changed his life. Enraged, a Dark Lord slaughtered assassins sent to hunt him, and sought to unleash his rage on Rall and his meager company, but stopped when Rall did not flinch. Standing before the Dark Lord and his humming saber, Arkon Rall bowed his head ever so slightly and introduced himself and his men. Though he was no Force user, he explained, he sought a different path in life. A path with greater meaning and purpose. This path would first lead him to Morraband, where in the tombs of dead Darth's he felt real power, a real future, even as he escorted one he knew to be powerful. He knew then what future lay before him, and that the trials on Ziost would be just a stepping stone.

Colonized five generations ago by inhabitants of a nearby world whose star went supernova, the planet of Yulai is still undergoing the terraforming processes necessary to make the air breathable, allow life to grow, and create vast oceans across the surface of the planet. The first important step of terraforming, creating a thicker and heavier atmosphere that does not escape into space, is nearing completion, and the planets surface temperature is now survivable. However, the air is not yet breathable, and there is no organic life nor widespread liquid water necessary to sustain it.

PURPOSE: To provide a setting for survival-based roleplay focused on colonization and terraforming of an inhospitable world, with the intent to establish an Independent faction on said planet.

Established as a colony world by a nearby civilization which fled after discovering their stars mass had reached a threshold and would go supernova. Given the destabilized nature of hyperspace lanes dating back to the Rakatan Infinity Empire, the civilization did not have significant options in choosing an alternate world. Q-Z15Y was the only viable option, a system which would later be renamed Yulai. The barren rock lacked the gravity to hold the majority of its atmosphere, and as such was absurdly cold. Caught in the orbit of a red dwarf, the distance to the nearby star and even other celestial objects was immensely small. This proved exceptionally useful, as the early colonists lacked the proliferation of hyperdrives that others could lay claim to. Over the years, the quantity of hyperdrives would continue to decline, and interplanetary transfers relied on liquid propellants and other fuels far more crude than the mainstay of Galactic technology.

It was immediately recognized by early colonists that life would be difficult on Yulai. The majority of the civilization had been annihilated in the nova, and only the best, brightest, and most influential had been able to settle Yulai. The founders, as the original generation were called, quickly squabbled over politics, with the technocratic faction attaining hegemonic control and immediately setting out to reshape their new homeworld into one that could sustain life without the need for claustrophobic domes and deadly sandstorms.

The first phase of the terraforming process involved spewing organic compounds manufactured from heavy elements into the atmosphere, creating a greenhouse effect that would warm the planet enough to sustain liquid water. With phase 1 of the process ending, a process which took more than five generations over a hundred years to complete, phase 2 is beginning; bringing liquid water to the surface.

CULTURE AND POLITICS
[fancybox4="http://i65.tinypic.com/11qod8g.jpg"]Five generations ago, the people of Yulai were divided by gaps such as intelligence, influence, and newly-irrelevant concepts like wealth and status. The first emergencies the young colony faced placed the technocratic factions in hegemony, and the marginalized wealthy elite were forced to come to terms with the new status quo.

Over the century since those trying times, politics have transformed. The colonies of Yulai, though still struggling, are no longer those of a civilization clinging to existence, but instead the entire culture of Yulai is dominated, in one form or another, by a desire to transform the planet into a paradise. Many succumb to fatalistic thoughts at the futility of it all, but even more still are dreamers who believe everything they do is not just to survive, but to prosper.

The Yulai Provisional Authority, as the first government of Yulai was called by the technocratic factions, was replaced with the Yulai Congressional Union, headed by the All Citizen's Congress from among which the President of Yulai is elected. The President of Yulai served as commander-in-chief of the armed forces, which are divided into two distinct service branches: the Yulai Congressional Union Navy (YCUN) and the Yulai Congressional Union Guard (YCUG). The YCUN protects the resources of the Yulai system from pirate incursions, although its primary responsibility is intrasystem law enforcement and interstellar resource exploration. The YCUN maintains a fearsome marine force but lacks any conventional starfighter corps, instead relying on gunships and corvettes. As the only maintainer of hyperdrive capable vessels on Yulai, the YCUN is a critical vanguard and lifeline for the planetary government. The YCUG's primary mission is maintaining the law and order of the planet and ensuring the stable progression of the terraforming processes.

Culturally, the people of Yulai are a diverse amalgamation of dozens of different alien cultures which have settled the planet in the century since the founding. Chief among the species populating the planet are humans and Chiss, although other individuals from species are from time to time accepted as refugees aboard the station, where their skills are rendered unto the Congressional Union.

The most valuable resources on Yulai are air, food and water. These commodities are more valuable than clothing, furniture, or other items. The economy is derived from a utilitarian model wherein, in the absence of sufficient quantities of base resources, the government determines the needs of the society and those capable of filling them are allotted the necessary rations to survive. Room is made for hobbies, and proficient artists and musicians are determined to provide sufficient utility to society to warrant rations for their efforts.

With the lack of water and plant life on the planet proper, the majority of water is harvested from the ice belts of Ummann in the outer system, or from ice asteroids in the outer belts beyond that. Air is manufactured from hydrogen harvested from the atmospheres of the systems two gas giants and solid water. These elements are used to sustain dome-farms which produce the food necessary to live. Bioengineered low-water use plants are essential to survival, and many of these are fungal plants, with animals that eat plants being a nearly forgotten luxury for the new elites of the planet.

Yulai Prime is a red dwarf occupying a relatively small, yet resource rich solar system. As a flare star, the average luminosity of the star is relatively low, but sporadic bursts of light are a recurring feature of the system. These flares occur over a solar cycle which lasts 442 days.

The first planet of the Yulai system is Aunae, an iron-heavy, massive (7.1E+24 kg) world with a radius of 5,977 km. Aunae orbits Yulai Prime once every 22.5 hours, yet rotates slowly at 1,011 hours, making the 'years' significantly shorter than the 'days.' Aunae's orbit around Yulai prime lies between 0.0082 - 0.0105 AU. The second planet of the Yulai system is Yulai itself, previously defined. An asteroid belt lies between Yulai and the next planet in the system; this asteroid belt lies between 0.1-0.12 AU, with major asteroids in the belt orbiting once every 38.6 days. Asteroids of note include Uranae, Acca, Ntis Tuta, Duetascu, and Pent. Beyond that, a number of irregular objects, mostly captured asteroids, orbit between 0.13-0.15 AU away, including Amentur and Nuustae. Beyond that is Enax, the third planet of the system, largely made of silicate and with a thin atmosphere of methane and with shallow seas of liquid ammonia. The fourth planet of the system, Naeniae, is a gas giant rich in hydrogen, with a sizable solid core, and moderate amounts of eleton. Naeniae once held two moons, but the transit of a celestial objects caused these moons to drift away, being consequently captured in the orbit of the star. These two objects are Ctoneste and Ntestianc. Ctoneste is a frigid object, 1.37E+20 kg in size, composed 30.9% of solid water. The final planet in the system, Ummann, lies 0.516 AU away from the star, and is exceptionally significant for its core of solid water, which comprises 23.4% of the planets mass, estimated at 8.74E+26 kg. In addition to this, Ummann has captured 10 asteroids which are now satellites, several of which contain liquid water beneath a frozen surface. (Ascust, Orana, and Icus Poen) Beyond that, lying at approximately 1.1-1.4 AU, is an Oort cloud primarily made of objects made of solid water and silicates.

@Saul notice your Sith would you be interested in meeting with my ex Jedi, ex BA, sector ranger (indie faction that is going to hopefully be the marshals of the republic) Triton? He is a bit of a work in progress but he is going to be a rough character and not really the nicest guy. Yet I was thinking of their two very different background and how that would work out.

As my guy will be born to a drunk and a addict, than going through war. He will join the Jedi after fighting for a time and eventually become angry with the force and quite being a Jedi and stops using the force.

Working on a tech sub, probably the only one I'll do. Still needs an intent section. Basically, I copied the Slave I, made it slightly weaker (to account for it being 1000 years earlier) and removed some extras like extra laser cannons, tractor beams, mines, no cloaking device, a few other things I felt weren't necessary. LMK what you think so far. The intent is literally to give my character and anyone else that wants one a Slave I that isn't a Firespray gunboat. Olanji-Charubah is a Hapan manufacturer.

The M-17 Typhon was designed by the Hapans military combine Olanji-Charubah to fulfill a gap in the Consortium's system defense and law enforcement requirements. Replacing the aging M-6 Orthrus, the Typhon was designed to rapidly respond to deep space incidents, conduct search and rescue operations, board and detain criminal vessels, and defend itself from attacks. Equipped with advanced weapon pods in its forward mandibles and several concussion missile tubes, proton torpedoes, and even a tractor beam, the Typhon is well suited to deterring pirate activity along the fringes of Hapan space as well as maintaining law and order deep within Hapans borders.

Since it's introduction 18 years ago, the Typhon has been marketed widely through the Outer Rim, finding service across dozens, perhaps even hundreds of star system law enforcement agencies. This widespread use has also seen several Typhon's captured by pirates or sold on the black market, leading to Olanji-Charubah to design later models with additional safeguards.

The design of the Typhon is unique, with adjustable mandables that provide for an increased firing arc for the forward mounted, variable arc twin rotating blaster cannons. Alone, the blaster cannons are capable of firing in a 15 degree arc in front of the craft, but the adjustable mandibles can provide for an additional 10 degrees of range. The nature of the twin rotating blaster cannons permits the Typhon to lay down a withering and ceaseless fusillade of firepower, in keeping with Hapan combat design philosophy.

The ship is equipped with coupling equipment and boarding tubes, permitting the search and seizure of criminal elements and the effective enforcement of laws. These boarding tubes are significantly more durable than standard docking couplings. The vessel maintains 4 holding blocks fit with containment fields suitable for restraining dangerous criminals and even Force users indefinitely. Beyond this, the cramped confines of the vessel are still able to provide living space for up to four crew or passengers, and the vessel is capable of being loaded with six months of provisions.

I like your ship tech page! I'm just having graphics finished for my fighter/freighter right now. It's dope that you also use MGLT and DPF ratings. Nerded out real quick. :-)
