*Carith Sat slumped on his knees with his hands balled up in fists on his side in the center of a dark room meditating on his thoughts, His eyes closed feeling the world around him. The Force flowing through life, through these walls through the ground through the planets and stars even bigger the galaxy around it. There was one small light dimming the room right above Carith in the center of the room. To the right of him sat a long table assorted with books on history not of only the Jedi but ancient religons, weapons and people. To the left of him was an assortment of parts and a Lightsaber crafting tool sitting upon small desk with a chair neatly pushed under it. This is the room in which his new Padawan Sarina Kayrou's Training shall begin. Where it shall end he doesn't know,He sat awaiting her arrival.*

Sarina nervously fixed her white version of the Jedi robes as she forced herself to walk forwards through the wide arch to where she was to meet her new Master. It had been a while since she had been trained in the Jedi ways, and she was a bit rusty. She licked her lips to moisten them, once more going over herself to make sure she was presentable. It, after all, was a he, she wanted to impress him. She didn't want to look like a slob, or for him to think badly of her. She was also a little worried about Nikki, her Tooke. She'd left him in her quarters, and she just hoped he didn't get out. She'd heard that most females weren't fond of rodents. As she thought about some of the stories, true or no, that she'd heard about, she smiled. Pandemonium in the Jedi Temple. What irony.

This helped cheer her up as she entered the room, comfortably lit with artificial sunlight produced by the aesthetic glow lamps scattered about the room. The floor was tiled, with several rugs strewn about and several tapestries lining the walls. She decided that she liked whoever had designed the place it was all so... soothing. If a little formal and solemn. As she looked around, her eyes finally caught glimpse of her new Master... Master Korso if she was correct. She swallowed to try and relieve the newfound nervousness, he looked so grave, so... important, kneeling there meditating. He couldn't have been much older than she was, which made her feel better. That meant he hopefully wouldn't just spout philosophy all day.

She didn't want to disturb him, so she knelt in front of him, mimicking his own stance, just waiting.

*A moment or two passed as Carith's midful gaze sprung from the force and his eyes shot open and came fixed upon his apprentice. He smiled and slowly began to stand adjusting his robing fixture into a perfect well organized manner.*

"Please stand...I trust you had no trouble finding your way to this room hmm?"*Carith said his voice nice and firm echoeing throughout the dim enclosed room, He awaited her to stand and be ready for training. Hopefully she was ready.

*Carith slowly began to pace around her waiting for her to stand, Her delicate features were almost calming to a mans mind. An emotional man that is, would almost say her features were beautiful. But Carith had trained him self to think otherwise from these perspectives this view of ways could do terrible things to a mind.*

Fear was the first thing that struck through her when his eyes snapped open to look into her own. What did he think of her? What did he see? Do I look okay?

She took a breath and pushed those thoughts out of her mind. She was going to be a Jedi now, she shouldn't think about things like that. the way he stood, carefully arranging himself, she began to think of him as a strict perfectionist. Looked as if she wasn't the only one who was concerned about her appearance, judging by how he was adjusting his brown robe. Oh, were her robes supposed to be brown? She'd liked white, so she'd requested white ones. Did he think of her as a freak? Especially with her face that must seem to pale to him, though, to her, he looked sickly dark compared to her race's appearance, but she was used to it now, having lived among Corellians for years.

Not knowing what to do, she remained kneeling until he bid her rise. As she straightened, at the somewhat close proximity it was painfully obvious how short she was compared to him, and backed off a bit once she realized that she might have invaded his space. She bit her lip, hoping that he didn't think she was being forward, that wasn't her intention. It was an accident.

At what he said next, though, a smile crept across her lips. He had a nice and clear voice that echoed about, making it seem as if he was all around her instead of in front of her, it must be the acoustics of the room. It made her shudder almost imperceptibly and grasp her collar, as if she was afraid it was too low, though it was practically choking her already. For some reason she always seemed small and insignificant next to people with nice voices like that, made her wish she had a voice, any voice. However, what he said made her feel more at ease, he didn't sound that formal at all. He seemed friendly. She shook her head at his question.

As he paced around her, to her as if he was pacing around a speeder he was contemplating buying, she found herself becoming more nervous, once more grasping her collar. Did he like her? What was he thinking about right now?

* Carith continued his pace until he reached the front of her again, He could feel the force with in her. It was young and untamed though strong. He could tell she was afraid though everyone is there first time. It will pass in due time as her training progresses.*

"I can tell your scared, You have absolutley nothing to be afraid of. I mean no harm nor does anyone here. Shall we begin?"

*Carith said standing in front of her with his eyes fixed with hers, he kept eye contact it made a more strict impression upon the person.*

When he acknowledged her fear, she mentally kicked herself for feeling such things, and especially for letting him know about it. But he was a Jedi; you can't hide things from Jedi. She nodded shyly at his question as she looked up into his eyes. It frightened her, it made her feel small and unimportant. He seemed to overwhelm her. though she didn't want him to notice the fear she felt, there wasn't much she could do. She wanted to please him, make him happy with her.

*Carith smiled and let out a small chuckle at her, he grinned and adjusted himself he turned torward the table his eyes fixed upon the books. The most intent though boring part of her training is about to begin. It was very important she focus on this*

"See those books? I have layed them out for you these books tell you about the Jedi order and studies of the Jedi. Read them, Study on the philosophy aswell as other religons of the galaxy. Then study about the Jedi weapon. The Lightsaber. You will need to make one shortly."

*He told her to do this willingly if she didn't want to he wouldn't force her though that would be her choice*

"It is your choice to do this or not, Learning how to choose the right choice plays a strong role in the Jedi training aswell in any situation no matter how small or large it is. The key to this is Patience."

*Carith stood awaiting her patiently to make her choice.*

His smile and laugh both uplifted her as well as felt like a slap on the cheek. Was he just please or amused with her? Or did he think she was silly and stupid? She wasn't sure, but judging by his kind expression, it seemed like the former rather than the latter. She dared to give him a small smile up at her. Once more she noticed him fixing his robes. He seemed to do that a lot, once again affirming her first impression of him. When his eyes shifted from her own to a table filled with books, her stomach dropped and her spirits fell when she realized what it might mean. She nodded slowly at his question, hoping he wasn't thinking the same thing she was thinking.

However, at his confirmation of her fear, she winced. She got a master... just so she could read? Was that it? Just reading? "Ahh?" She vocalized, confused and somewhat saddenned.

She once again bit her lip and nodded very slowly at his order. Even as he gave her the chance to back out of it, she knew he would be more pleased with her if she went ahead and did it.

Slowly she walked over to the table... the books looked so big! And she knew they weren't going to have big print. This would take such a long time. She snapped her head back to look at him, almost pleadingly. "Ahh... nnn." She said, trying to think of a way to mime out what she was thinking. She tried pointing at him, then back at her, then at him then back again several times, then she shook her head and her hand, as if to say 'no.' Not sure that he got it, she made her right hand form a mouth and made it open and close as if speaking, then pointed at him. After a couple of seconds of that she shook her head. She was trying to ask him why he wasn't teaching her, or if he was ever going to teach her and if this was all there is. She was disappointed.

*As she read she began to make hand motions and shook her head. At first he didn't understand but shortly after he finally go it it.*

"In due time my dear in due time, Little do you know but i am teaching you now. I am trying to teach you the art of Patience. Patience plays a large role in the Jedi life. You do not want to rush things. You may want to stop and think things through before acting, acting may not be the key in a situation. Instead of a focus on one focus on that one affecting that many...For example..If you come to a planet seeking somthing for now we will say a droid, And a man asks you for credits. You think to yourself it is the Jedi way to help others..And this is true in many ways but this could create jealousy anger and hatred among others. We cannot help them all my dear we can't. Patience is the key."

*Carith licked his lips from this long speech he gave, his voice was scratchy and he swallowed and took in a breath, he walked to the otherside of the table and took a seat directly across from her watching her expressions and such.*

After his long oration she nodded and sighed. Well, at least he was going to teach her, and not leave it to some bland, impersonal book. She shut her eyes before averting them back to the veritable mountain of books. A look, almost of despair crossed her face before she shut her eyes again to concentrate once more. You knew it was going to take hard work, just because it didn't come in sweat like you thought it would doesn't mean that the galaxy is ending. Calm down. You won't finish if you never start.

At last she opened her eyes again and started scanning the titles, just so the first one she picked up wasn't one out of order in a series. At last her fingers brushed the cover of one of the books. It came to her as odd that they would be in book form and not in datapad-like electronic devices. Maybe they wanted that eclectic, quaint feel. At any rate, seeing the number of pages made it more depressing, but that was beside the point. She let out a breath of air as she sat herself at a nearby chair, opened up the book, and began.

This was going to be a long day.

::Time passed as she read the books upon the table. Minutes into Hours. Atlast Carith thought it would be time to begin actual training.::

*Carith walked to her standing over her looking down on her as she read, the pages flipped some quickly some slowly, he thought he shall let her read at her own pace...Carith walked to the other side of the room fiddling with the trinkets they lay on the table next to a Lightsaber crafting machine, he placed an Emitter on the table and walked back to her.*

"I beleive it is time to continue with the training,How was your read?..Hopefully well the best thing a Jedi holds is his mind, If someone can't break the will and mind of a Jedi then even if the Jedi is weaponless and physically broken and they can't break the jedi's mind then the Jedi has won. It is not always about combat or action sometimes it is of thinking, waiting for the right moment to act. Before acting you must think of consequences of these actions how will it affect you, others around you and how it will affect the force."

*Carith stopped and began to move back to the table with the Lightsaber equipment,His boots clunked and echoed in the enclosed training room, he stopped turning back to her half way there.*

"Come with me please.."

*He turned back walking to the table but continued with his lecturous lessons.*

"Never the less, a Jedi must always be prepared for any action. Using his or her environment to their advantage. And this is why a Jedi must have there own crafted weapon...I have here laid out the tools and parts needed to craft this weapon. Now it is up to you to craft it. It is the weapon of a Jedi....The Lightsaber...I have a many assorted color crystals here aswell. Blue, green, yellow, purple and orange. It is your choice."

*As Carith spoke the last words he stepped back from the table pulling the chair out for her, allowing her to sit and begin her work.*

It was unnerving, having him behind her watching her read. However, she had to concentrate on what she was reading, how was she to learn if she just skimmed it? And to please him, she had to learn.

Sarina had no idea how long she had been there, reading page after page of information, too much for her mind to fathom or recall. It was obvious that the books were written for their academic value and not for entertainment purposes, judging by the writing style. She had to take small breaks at intervals to rest her eyes, during which she would close them and rest her head on her hands, sometimes just rubbing her eyes or shaking her head and blinking to relieve the monotony. All of the reading was beginning to give her a headache, but she still had much to read. Th thought made her want to moan, but she didn't want Master... Korso, wasn't it?... to think she was complaining, so she kept her mouth shut.

She was relieved when her Master walked someplace else, though she wasn't quite sure where. She felt uncomfortable with him gazing over her shoulder, as if gaging her reactions and how fast she read or comprehended things. She let out a nearly inaudible sigh when she heard his footsteps return to her, dreading his gazing eye once more watching her, measuring her, judging her. She wasn't quite sure of how he thought yet, or what he was even like. Of course, he didn't sound cruel, or even in any way harsh, so far he'd just held high standards for her.

When his deep voice once more shattered the silence about her, she once again nearly shuddered at it. She could almost sense the raw power behind, within that voice, and it was awe-inspiring, overpowering, intoxicating. It frightened her. However, what he said gave her hope once more, as he'd given her leave to quit reading. Almost a little too eagerly, she shut the book with a thump and turned her body around to face him, looking up into his eyes. As she listened to him, she tried to carefully measure out his words, and, personally, they didn't make sense. Once you kill a Jedi you've won, whether or not one had a strong mind, that part just didn't seem to click for her, but he'd passed up that facet so fast that she didn't have time to ask anything. She did, however, agree with him about thinking through the consequences first before acting, Maria had always told her to think before she did something, so that wasn't new.

He turned at began walking away, bidding Sarina follow. She slowly rose from her seat and trailed behind him, quietly and obediently. He once more began to speak, once more not making complete sense. How could one use the environment to your advantage with a lightsaber? Weren't the two ideas separate? After all, a lightsaber is not part of the environment, but a tool, like the datapad that hung on her belt with which she communicated at times. All she knew for sure was suddenly she'd been dumped in front of a table full of doohickys and whatchamacallits and told to build a lightsaber. Of course, she'd read that part in one of the books, but that was a couple hours back and even then she didn't understand what most of the terms meant. However confused she was, she was magnetized towards the table, looking at the crystals. They were beautiful. She gently ran her fingers across the crystals' faceted surface, smiling gently at them.

She heard him pull out a chair for her, and she politely seated herself there, limited to saying 'thank you' for the act by giving him a warm smile. She couldn't really sign 'thank you,' as that looked almost as if she was blowing a kiss at him, and she was sure he would take it wrongly. She turned her eyes once more at the table before her, covered in strange, interesting electronics, but her eyes once more glanced at the crystals. She bit her lip as her gaze skipped from one thing to the other. She didn't know what to do or where to start, so she decided the first thing she should do was to pick out a crystal. That would be simple enough, she figured, and she was correct in the assumption. Fortunately, the blueish crystal nearest her was strewn with flecks of green, making it almost the same color as the markings on her cheek, and that was the one she chose.

However, even once she'd done that, she was lost. She didn't want to disappoint him by having read all of that information and seemed to have gleaned nothing. She worked her mind to try to remember what it said, to try and recognize the components before her, but she could not. Her confused, almost hurt expression wafted over the menagerie, hopelessly. She so badly did not want to disappoint him, and she couldn't even carry out the first task. She clasped her hand tightly, jabbing her fingernails into her palm as she desperately tried to think, but still nothing would come.

*Carith walked to the table of books grabbing a book from the bottom of the stack that gave perfect precise instruction to create this saber. Everyone has to learn how to create one before creating it, he knew she didn't know exactly how to make one even if she read it....He came back to her and layed the book next to her.*

"You didn't think id leave you without knowing how to do it did you?" *He smiled and stepped back away from her. He knew it would take a while. He would be suprised if it didn't.

she must have let on that she was having difficulty, as Mster Korso had walked over to the books and had come back, wielding one. She took it as he lay it next to her, on the table, looking up at him apologetically. She felt awful for not having gotten it the first time through. When he gave her the little bit of encouragement, she smiled up at him sheepishly. Once again, she opened the book, and glanced down the table of contents until she came to the page number beside the section on how to build a lightsaber. Once more she opened the book, and a wave of diagrams, notes, and instructions in tiny print overwhelmed her, and she had to concentrate, reading a little, pausing to check the diagrams for what part it meant, but there must have not been enough diagrams for her, though she tried. So, she decided to build it as she read, reading a sentence or phrase, doing what it said, then moving on. Maybe the visual and the sensation of actually touching what it was talking about would be a help. Sh gingerly reached over to grasp the tubing that was to eventually become the casing, and put it aside, searching for the piece that the text described and the picture showed. It was difficult, slow work, and it was taking her hours just to construct a small fraction of what need to be done. What took the most time, though, was figuring out what the book meant half the time. Once, she'd made a mistake, and had to take the thing almost completely apart. It was beginning to look hopeless.

Though she'd managed to stumble through the big, complex wording and the references to thing or things yet unknown so far, whether well or poor she had no idea, she vied for poor, she had finally come across something she was utterly clueless about. She'd tried several solutions, but it's reference to a certain diatom-electrode-whatever eluded her as to its position, location, and what wire to connect it with. By now her temples were pounding with headache, and it was beginning to look bleak, but somehow she had to press on, she didn't want Master Korso to think she was a quitter, but her creativity and ingenuity level was going down as her headache rose, still trying to figure out that same problem in the text, when she had to stop and rest her head in her hands with a sigh. Sarina moaned as she rubbed the side of her head, wishing the headache away. Finally, she realized that it was hopeless to try and understand it, but she didn't want him to think her a weakling. Shyly, she slowly turned her head around, several beads of sweat from concentrating so hard rolling down the side of her face. She bit her lip as she looked up at her Master desiring to ask him for a break, but she dare not. Instead she made a 'Mmm' sound, and pointed with a certain amount of emphasis to the phrase she didn't understand, asking for help.

*He smiled at her, he knew she would need help no one gets it their first time.*

"It is quite alright my young padawan, no one gets it their first time even i didnt, so don't work yourself over about it take your time and pace yourself. Remember Patience."

*He came to the book to try and figure out what it is she needed, he wasn't quite sure what she needed help with, he placed both hands on the table and leaned forward with his legs back puttin all of his weight onto the table.*

"Now what is it that i can help you with?"

She was glad that he didn't scold her, and instead comforted her for her question. She was beginning to like him. She watched him as he leaned forward and put his weight on the table as he turned to her, questioningly. Sheepishly, she once again pointed to the passage in question, then looked at him pleadingly. He didn't seem to get exactly what she wanted, so she picked up what she had already built and pointed all around it, as if trying to find what the passage meant, then picked up one of the wires, then another one, as if not sure which one to use, then picked up the diode thing she was supposed to use. She bit her lip, wishing for a voice. thinking about it made her throat tingle painfully, as it did at intervals, causing her to move one hand up to her throat to try and relieve the annoying pain.

*Carith grabbed the book in one hand and held what she had built in the other, he smiled and set the book down. He picked up a red wire and a black wire the the diode and grinned*

" You connect this wire here..."

*He pointed at which the spot he wished it to go.*

"Then you place this one here.." *Once again pointing at the point where he suggested*

"I will let you decide what to do with the rest, But that is my tip for you. All you need to do now is place the diode, the emitter, the lens and your color crystal and i beleive you have it."

She gave him a smile for his help, she couldn't really say 'thank you' in any other way. She was grateful for his help as she carefully picked out the wire Master Korso had specified and did what he'd suggested. She gave him another smile at his last statement, though she knew it was oversimplified. There was still a lot of work ahead of her, but at least she'd gotten over this hurdle. She only dreaded how many more there were until she reached the goal.

It took several more hours before she couldn't work any more. She was drained, and the work was overbearing, and it was already fairly late; between the reading and the building she'd skipped lunch and it was an hour or so past dinner. she'd finished up energy modulating circuits and had carefully carved away the imperfections in the cycling field energizers, and had started work on the crystal energy chamber. She was utterly exhausted and starved, and her headache had intensified to where she couldn't concentrate. She buried her head in her hands as she sighed. Sarina looked up at her Master, she'd been working so hard she didn't know how many times he'd walked away or had been there, but she was glad he was now, and made a 'quit' sign. She needed a break, and some dinner.

*Carith smile at her and a grin crept upon his face as he gazed upon her. His eyes locked on hers and he let out a slight chuckle*

"Looks like someone needs a break...Alright then We shall contnue in the morning. Leave everything as it is and we will start off as we never left"

*He said to her turning away exiting the room, suddenly stopped and said.*

"Don't forget to be here as early in the morning as you can."

*He continued on exiting the room to his chambers to get some rest and meditate upon the hard days work, so far he hasn't been disapointed in his apprentice, she shows great potential though she needs to work on her doing it on her own skill a little bit but other than that good*

She managed to give him a smile as she rose, thankful that he didn't mind her taking a break. Fortunately, she didn't have to come back after dinner, and she was free until morning. That was nice of him. He seemed very kind, and she felt fortunate to have someone like him for a Master; despite the pile of books. As she walked back to her room, she thought about him, trying to sum up his personality, trying to figure him out... she liked him. Not that kind of like, but he was nice to her and patient with her lack of skills in both the Force and communication, and willing to take her on anyway. She was happy he had chosen her.

When she reached her room, the first one to greet her was Nikki, who was bouncing at the door, making funny half chirp, half squeaking noises. She smiled at him and picked him him, nuzzling his soft fur. She was hungry, but she wanted to spend some time with Nikki, he'd been alone all day in this small room. It was a wonder he hadn't chewed the sheets. He'd been a good boy today; she decided that she sneak him up some food later, she was sure that he wouldn't be especially welcome in the mess hall.

Nikki was, of course, downtrodden to see her leave again so soon, but it couldn't be helped. She would let him sleep on her pillow tonight, he needed some affection after a day alone like that. As she made her way to the kitchen, a wonderful idea sprang to mind. She knew how she could say 'thank you' to Master Korso. She was so happy about the idea, that she sped up a bit to walk into, not the mess hall, but the kitchen. The place was strewn with cooking droids and people. After all, feeding a whole Temple of Jedi wasn't an easy task. It didn't take her long to find the person in charge, and she already had her request typed up on the datapad. Fortunately he wouldn't ask about why she'd typed it up, as it was rather loud in there anyway. It took a little persuasion, but he agreed to the deal.

On her way to the tiny nook he'd alloted her, she picked up some rolls and a small piece of meat for her dinner and set to work.

<div align="center">----</div>

She'd been in there several hours, the first twenty minutes or so was spent making the thing, then she had about an hour's break for dinner until it was finished cooking, but the last, final part was the most time-consuming and the most important, but she always took pride in her work. Working as a chef in a bakery had taught her how to do it right. Shed decided not to make it too fancy, and was careful not to make it feminine. Setting the final slice of shuura fruit in place and encircling it with another couple dabs of icing, it was done.

Pleased, she set the tube down and rubbed the sweat off her brow. It didn't take her long before her request for the simply decorated cake to be taken up to Master Korso's room to be fulfilled. With that done, she made her way back up to her room, pieces of smuggled food in hand, Nikki chattering incessantly, before she practically fell on the bed. She snuggled with the little Tooke for a bit before she got herself cleaned up and ready to retire for the night. He'd told her to arise early in the morning, so she figured it would be best to clock in for sleep earlier than usual.

<div align="center">----</div>

It was around five or so in the morning when she awoke, and she couldn't get back to sleep. Finally, after thirty minutes of just lying there, she forced herself up and got dressed, pinning her hair back slightly to keep it from getting in her way as she worked, as it had yesterday. Once that was done, she bid the little Tooke goodbye and set out to the room alloted to her and Master Korso. The only problem was that she didn't remember where it was.
