Description​ The Sandstorm was designed to do a lot of things, and a result ended up doing none of them particularly well. Produced long before the most recent return of the Sith, Incom was confident of their abilities to design a new gunship platform for the Galactic Alliance. This platform would be able to do it all, go fast, be heavily armored, be heavily armed, have state of the art electronics, the works. As one might expect, the Sandstorm failed to live up to the promises Incom had made, and ended up being only somewhat fast. For its intended gunship role, it was especially poor, as the massive repulsorlift units, and general lack of armor made it ill suited for hovering, or slowly working over a target when an enemy armed with weapons just as heavy as the ones it carried could easily knock it out of the sky. With production already in full gear, and a clear lack of interest from any military force due to these shortcomings, Incom repackaged the Sandstorm for use with local planetary militias, selling them off piecemeal, and learning an important lesson in hubris. These outdated, and outclassed gunships were easily purchased by the funds available to the TEF, and has put to good use by the Expedition in the role of a scout. The Sandstorm also makes for halfway decent air support (as far as organization as cash strapped as the TEF is concerned) able to quickly dart in, open fire, and dart out before anyone can bring larger guns to bear to the poorly armored Sandstorm. While generally armed well against small arms fire, larger handheld weapons can prove a threat to the vehicle, especially armor piercing, and in the area around the repulsorlifts on each side of the craft. The Sandstorm requires only a pilot to operate, and is incapable of flight beyond the boundaries of an atmosphere.
