General Info
NAME: Saerina Avrikana (pronounced si-REEN-a ay-vree-KAHN-a)
FACTION: Jedi

HEIGHT: 5'1"
WEIGHT: 100 lbs. She has a slender and flexible body frame and isn't particularly curvy.
EYES: Grayish-blue
HAIR: Light brown, shows hints of gold and red. It's very long, somewhat wavy and tangles easily, so she would probably wear it in a braid most of the time. She would wear it down only in cases such as a ceremony or having her portrait drawn ;) Also, the beads in her Padawan braid are ones that she's made based on the glassmaking techniques from her home planet, Aurea.

FORCE POWERS:

SKILLS:
Saerina, having been a Padawan for a few years, knows basic Force powers and one lightsaber form. She also has a little bit of piloting experience, though she has not done a solo flight. Once or twice, she has assisted a Jedi Knight in teaching a group of Jedi Younglings.

Learning (but not proficient in) Soresu and Makashi
STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
Strengths: Saerina is patient and benevolent, sensitive to the feelings of others and wanting to help them. She is good at maintaining self-control and works hard at her training. She is good with a lightsaber, at teaching and with children. Saerina is also eager to learn and is very open to advice.
Weaknesses: Saerina is constantly setting high standards for herself- often, they are impossible for her to reach. She struggles with doubts that she is not a good Jedi/not meant to be a Jedi. She is always worrying about what others think of her and is crushed by failure and disapproval. She also has difficulty concentrating on the Force at times.
PERSONALITY:
Saerina is often mistaken to be years younger than she actually is, not just because of her short stature and youthful features
but also because she is softhearted and innocent, untainted by traumatic incidents or major battles. She has the tendency to be an introvert, loving to study and practice her native peoples' glassmaking techniques in her spare time. Saerina is very interested in the arts, including fine arts, literature and music. She is the type who would prefer studying to being out fighting, and because of this, usually has a hard time focusing on her Jedi duties. However, she is aware of this and tries to please her superiors. Being a perfectionist, she gets frustrated with herself rather easily and her mistakes, as well as disapproval from others, have a large emotional impact on her.
Saerina often comes off as shy because she is quiet, but this is really just because her mind is active and she often lapses into her own thoughts. She can hold a conversation well as long as she's interested in it. Deep down inside her are leader qualities that she's usually too nervous to let out, afraid of failure or disapproval. She is most comfortable around children, as shown when she has assisted Jedi Knights in training groups of Younglings. People her own age intimidate her most. Also, she is sensitive to others' feelings and longs to be of help to people in need. Her friends see her as quiet comfort, there to support and listen to them, but as reasonably difficult to talk with.
Sometimes she struggles with the idea that she is not really meant to be a Jedi because of her apathy towards Jedi training in general. She works hard at it, always pushing herself to the limit, but consistently gets the feeling that her efforts are not good enough. Saerina is also nervous because she has not been on any major missions or in any major battles.
BIOGRAPHY:
Saerina was born on Aurea, a planet known for its artisans of luxury glass products. Her earliest memories were of watching her father blowing and dyeing the glass, and her parents owned a busy and prestigious shop in the capital of Aurea. Her mother managed the finances and logistics of the shop. They originally wanted her to master the craft someday. When Saerina was 4, she went with her parents to Corellia, which is very close to Aurea, to a trading fair where they would be selling some of their products. A pair of Jedi on a mission found them there and discovered that Saerina was Force sensitive, so they decided to take her with them to become Jedi training. Saerina's parents were actually very excited about this, but Saerina was too little to really understand what was going on.
It took her a while to realize that she was with these Jedi to stay, but since she was still pretty young and well-established with the Jedi, she didn't care too much. At 13, she became a Padawan. She didn't have a Master at that point, but kept herself busy doing classes and group training. Saerina also liked to do independent studies as well. During her spare time in her Jedi training, she researched Aurean glassmaking techniques and practiced some of it herself. Her most exciting experience was when she went to Ilum so she could build her lightsaber. She put all her rarely-used creativity into it, using Aurean glassmaking techniques to make "windows" in her lightsaber that allowed the direct light from the crystals inside to shine out. (Speaking of which, I tried to draw these little "windows" in her lightsaber, but I didn't exactly capture the effect of brilliant light shining out very well. XD)
Saerina began training under her new master Kai Sera recently and is working to improve her Force abilities and learn Makashi and Soresu.
