Hey guys! Your thread looks great! I just wanted to drop in and give you guys a piece of info just in case it affected anything. Up until a very recent attack by a Mando/OLR task force Roon and Death Wind Corridor was mined, quarantined, and patrolled by the Imperial Navy making it a death trap for anyone trying to use it. However, after the attack drove the Empire from Roon Death Wind is open to travel once again, just be aware that until very recently anyone trying to go that way probably wasn't heard of again, so traffic going through it would still be low.

Anyways, that's it, hope you guys have a great time, can't wait to see where you take the thread!

Thanks Ral! I actually have been largely absent on the site for quite awhile before this thread but that detail should be able to work into the framework of the arc's narrative. Perhaps Cicero is the only slaver with sufficient backing to have weathered the recent blockade cutting off commerce through Death Wind Corridor. These details make threads feel more complete.

I've posted!

If anyone has any questions, direct them here or to me privately. If anyone wants to coordinate their actions with another for the coming round, you can do that here or via PM or whatever as well.

Started working on my post, should have it up by tommorow night. Dont anybody wait on me though.

Benvenu. The biggest advice i can give thay everybody should follow is proofread. Always proofread. And then when you are done proofreading and changing things, proofread again. You will be amazed at how many good ideas you come up with just reading over you own post and changing things.

Oh and this.

I've already got a real good idea on how I'm going to handle my post. Unorthodox fighting is so much fun to write, as my char isn't even remotely a fighter in the traditional sense of the word.

Hey guys go ahead and skip me; my Internet went out last night and no letting when it'll get back (probably today or the next couple days) and I don't feel like posting from my wife's phone. :P I'll just jump back in when I have interweave once more. In the meantime I would like some clarification on the layout of where we are and where the attackers are. Is there anyone else in the room with us or are we alone, ect. Thanks!

Tonight I will be finishing a diagram that illustrates the situation a little bit.

For now: we were in a room on one of the terraces flanking a long staircase to the private lounge that the Trandoshan entered. The staircase has a handful of people on it who were just hanging around or dancing. The twi enemies are Trandoshan slavers that Voshk left behind to capture T'chaal. At the end of my post they were concealing themselves behind statues of Madame Lekku.

Got it. T'Chaal tracks the remaining 4 toward the upper level. I'm hoping Voshk falls for a trap I planned T'Chaal to use in the thread. Just a heads up. T'Chaal is on a job & I'm hoping he can hook up with Dusas via through Madame Lekku after the firefight. He wants to kill Voshk, so is that cool?

I haven't checked the thread yet, and I will in an hour or so, but my immediate thought is that walking into the next room and murdering anyone may be a very bad idea. However, I think that the goal is a perfectly manageable one, and the situation may develop in many ways. And if for whatever reason it is unfeasible for T'chaal to kill Voshk now, I love recurring characters.

I was hoping it would play out, not right away. He's the mark, so dead or alive comes with the territory. It works out either way, but the plan was IF Voshk tried to escape T'Chaal, who placed an explosive charge on Voshks' ship, could kill him before he gets away & then gets invited to the meeting.

Not sure if I follow your train of thought exactly - you want to kill Voshk, then "join" with the group so to speak? Or was the bomb just a possibility that didn't play out?

Also, if you decide to go with the bomb, then I might implement another aspect of the RP that I want to try out: dice. Nothing even close to a traditional RPG with skills and modifiers or anything like you'd expect from D&D or Pathfinder, but a % die to represent random probabilities.

I think it would be unfair of me to just handwave your idea away and say that your bomb fails to activate, but it's also unrealistic if I don't factor in the possibility of countermeasures: technicians outfitting the ship, a routine inspection, Voshk having sensors to avoid exactly that (he does lead a dangerous life, after all), etc. If people like this mechanic I might use it a little more often, but for now I'm going to save it for special situations like the hypothetical one I've assumed you're presenting.

Even better by the sound of it. I was hoping if he did kill Voshk that that might 'earn' his respect at the table more than just waltzing up in there uninvited. The dice game sounds good. After the firefight, considering the NPC's survive, its your call. I'll go with whatever you throw out there.

When it comes to RP I always play mercs who specialize in weaponry. I'm more of a technical player than I am a story teller who goes into great details. Missions are easier to play out that way.

Aha! But this is not a mission. It is a story! The thing I value most is your input, and despite "not being a technical player," you've thus far moulded the setting to your character the most out of everyone, at least for the immediate needs of the story I have in mind.

(which leads to what I suppose is a pretty good visual metaphor for the role I'm playing. I am presenting a pre-created environment, including the story which would unfold without external input, and your characters interact with it by changing it)

But I'm mostly here to cater to whatever you guys want included in that story. I'm trying to play off the themes you guys suggest through your characters, because I want to make it as fulfilling as possible to everyone involved. So just keep that in mind as you respond and correct me if I take it in the wrong direction, cause I probably will at some point.

Thats what roleplay is all about my friend. It'll definitely help me in the long run so I'm starting to get excited. This stuff will all go in my profile once its done so I mean, its good for my, our & yours character backgrounds & development.

After the next post, I'm going to make one so that the situation can evolve a little more organically without relying exclusively on the momentum from my last post. As well as to have the environment react a little bit, because otherwise I think the Trandoshans are gonna be dead before they even get a chance to pull the trigger a couple times. :P

Makes sense, I'm all down for that and I'll I was just kind of on a roll because I was watching The Fifth Element just now... so I've kind of got that mentality going for me.

Yeah, I'm trying hard to justify in my head throwing a thermal detonator into the middle of a fairly crowded space, but it should serve to illustrate the consequences of acting unrealistically. Try to put yourself into the mindset of a real person, even if you're in the middle of a Star Wars world. Would you throw a grenade at a bouncer in the middle of a club? Probably not, but if you did you would kill a lot of people.

Everyone, try to set your posts up to and including the moment that thermal detonator goes off, but don't go too far past that moment. I'm going to have to describe the mayhem.
