Soliloquy.

Another stain, another star. They come and go, wax and wane. Beautiful, really. Disgusting, even. The name's Ryiek, and you haven't heard of me.

Why?

You've never needed to know. I'm the happy-go-lucky space yourself type. The one standing at the corner of the bar, slowly creeping towards the center; another whisky, neat. That's the catchphrase, it's my tell. You'll remember it soon enough.

I used to be an accountant. The blue-collared sort. No degree, just a dropout who struck it lucky to carve out a niche in a high-demand racket. It started as a joke. A sour one, ripe with burned out teenage aspirations and a bitter disappointment. Was never cut for school... or fighting, or sweet talking, or much of anything really.

No saving graces - unless you count the smile. That one's a winner. Saccharine, brimming with satisfaction. Empty promises... you know they're hollow, right? You shouldn't listen to a word I'm saying. Not until after the fourth glass. Or the fifth, if you're buying.

Trust me, that's a slippery slope. You're not ready to front my tab.
