Given Ryeesh's disposition and the manner of company she tends to keep, it may come as a shock to many to learn that her childhood was not an unfortunate litany of neglect, abuse and despair. Quite the opposite really. Born Ryeesh Kisara Adaar - the daughter of a senator and a district attorney - her parents were loving, kind, and provided their daughter with the best upbringing money could buy. Like any privileged girl her age, however, she was an ill-tempered brat whose constant tantrums tested her parents' nerves. Their careers kept them away more often than not, leaving Ryeesh in the care of servants throughout much of her formative years.

When the first signs of her latent Force sensitivity began to manifest, however, her parents arranged to have her sent to the Jedi temple on Ossus for training; their ultimate hope being that the Order could instill within her the higher values of respect and humility which they had failed to provide. Dissatisfied with the new life that had been thrust upon her - far more accustomed to the luxuries of home - Ryeesh proved a stubborn pupil. Nevertheless, she would excel in her training, where her aptitude for manipulating life forces eventually lead her to serve in the war as a Jedi Consular providing care for the sick and wounded.

Like so many aspiring young Knights at the time though, Ryeesh would be reshaped by the brutal machinations of war. While serving on the front, she sparked a clandestine romance with fellow Jedi Silas Jyn. Though their duties, and the Jedi Code, put considerable strain on their relationship, their love for one another was ultimately consummated when Ryeesh became pregnant with their child. Not long after, however, Silas was killed during the battle on Carida, and Ryeesh herself was grievously wounded. It was only in the aftermath, while she was recovering in a field hospital, that she learned of her lover's fate, and that of their unborn child.

Distraught, grief and regret withered her faith. Growing increasingly withdrawn and bitter, Ryeesh turned her spite against those she held most responsible for Silas' death: the Jedi themselves. In spite of all she had sacrificed though, she understood their Code left little room for leniency, and chose to impose exile on her own terms rather than submit to judgment. Stowing away aboard an outbound shuttle, she managed to slip away from the Jedi, vanishing into the Outer Rim without a trace.

Nineteen years after she first limped away from the remains of the life she lost, Ryeesh has grown to embrace her exile, finding peace with her memories, and strength in the Darkside. Time and distance have afforded a certain clarity that have allowed her to reconcile her past, and find new conviction for the future. Now, unfettered by the archaic codes and hypocritical mores of the Jedi, Ryeesh plots her return with the turbulent undercurrents of discontent sweeping the galaxy...

  • A woman in her early forties, Ryeesh's appearance has been likened to that of mythic demons, and with good reason. Standing at six and a half feet with a broad, toned frame, luminescent orange eyes and large cranial horns, she commands an imposing physical presence that overshadows most around her. Though she once possessed an elegant beauty in her youth, years of exposure to the Darkside has rendered her skin a chalky white, giving her a ghastly complexion that few would find attractive by conventional standards. Her teeth have been filed to rounded points, while intricate facial tattoos stand out in stark relief against her ashen features.

Rarely expressive and impassively stoic, Ryeesh conducts herself with all the dignity and grace one might expect from someone well acquainted with the practices and customs of nobility. Her posture and mannerisms are impeccable, as are her skills as an accomplished linguist. Notably, her left arm has been replaced with a prosthetic following its loss during the battle of Carida. Sparing no expense, she later had it outfitted with a phrik overlay that not only grants increased durability, but the ability to briefly resist contact with lightsabers.

Above all else, years of physical conditioning and strict dietary regimens have kept Ryeesh in exceptional physical condition. Thanks in part to a combination of her natural biology, a healthy lifestyle and discriminating eating habits, Ryeesh boasts a robust immune system and rarely takes ill. Likewise, she avoids any kind of mind altering substance or performance enhancing drugs. On those rare occasions where she does get sick though, her recovery time is often hampered due to a lifelong allergy to bacta. For this reason, she is heavily reliant on a combination of the Force and homeopathic remedies to help her overcome disease.
  • Formally trained as a Jedi Consular, Ryeesh possesses a fairly diverse skill set, as well as a surprisingly complex understanding of the Force. Unlike most practitioners of the Force, she does not ascribe to the view of a radically polarized Force. Instead, Ryeesh simply sees the Force, arguing that it is neither inherently good nor evil, but rather the actions of individuals which determines how it manifests. Guided by this philosophy - and a fair deal of pragmatism - the scope of her study in the arcane is indeed a broad one.

Possessing a strong aptitude for manipulating the ebb and flow of the Force in other creatures, Ryeesh is a skilled healer with a deep understanding of alien biology. Whether through the Force or more conventional means, she possesses both the knowledge and finesse to conceivably treat even the most grievous of ailments. Throughout the course of her exile, however, her talents have become infused with the Darkside. Even so, Ryeesh abhors unnecessary suffering and prides herself on efficiency above all else.

Though she considers herself a scholar first and a warrior second, when pressed in combat, Ryeesh can be a lethal opponent. She has studied Form VI extensively and has adopted the use of a saberstaff as her primary weapon of choice. Likewise, she is expertly trained in Form V and has developed a very fluid style that allows her to flow effortlessly between light parrying counters, to sharp thrusts and punishing power attacks. Her overall focus during combat tends to be on the conservation of energy and the use of feints to help her gain the edge over her opponent - though she is not above using sheer brute force given opportunity.
