Ruusan - P-11
Independent Space
Independent Space
Ruusan had been lucky the past 500 years. While the major powers on either side had been gobbled up by the ever-hungry Sith Empire, a small corridor of no-man's land existed in between. One of the more populous worlds in this window of the galaxy (only to be rivaled by Kashyyyk) this unusual dynamic had led to some interesting developments and characters. It was suspected that a fair number of spies and mercenaries hired by the Sith factions operated on the planet. To what end wasn't clear, the shadowy game of espionage rarely was, and goals shifted with the tide.
The planet attracted all sorts of folk who wished to be free of the overbearing control of a government that spanned light years. To its credit, the Ruusan government tried to keep a tight lid on the more illegal ventures that beings might try to run on the surface or its moons, but crime could never fully be defeated. The spaceports teemed with alien life, and the depths of the cities had adapted to cater to (or swindle) the intergalactic tourism influx.
Evandar's Cantina was located in a neighborhood that, while probably safe at night, you wouldn't walk around alone with your pockets stuffed full of credits. It was just enough off the beaten path that law enforcement didn't pass by with frequency. On the other hand, it wasn't so far off the beaten path that knife fights were a common occurrence. There was a certain equilibrium to the place where people generally accepted the rule of "don't be too much of a moron".
F2O2 leaned against the railing of the upper level of the establishment, which allowed a small overlook onto the main floor. It was not too crowded yet as the after-work rush had not arrived though they were due soon. F2 was waiting for a contact who might have a lead on a ship. That was the most limiting factor to his independence, the lack of hyperspace-capable transportation. And who would sell to a droid? F2 could try to pass himself off as a representative of a legitimate buyer, but he lacked the credentials and finding a document forger seemed like an unnecessary step.
