Ruusan - P-11
Independent Space

Ruusan had been lucky the past 500 years. While the major powers on either side had been gobbled up by the ever-hungry Sith Empire, a small corridor of no-man's land existed in between. One of the more populous worlds in this window of the galaxy (only to be rivaled by Kashyyyk) this unusual dynamic had led to some interesting developments and characters. It was suspected that a fair number of spies and mercenaries hired by the Sith factions operated on the planet. To what end wasn't clear, the shadowy game of espionage rarely was, and goals shifted with the tide.

The planet attracted all sorts of folk who wished to be free of the overbearing control of a government that spanned light years. To its credit, the Ruusan government tried to keep a tight lid on the more illegal ventures that beings might try to run on the surface or its moons, but crime could never fully be defeated. The spaceports teemed with alien life, and the depths of the cities had adapted to cater to (or swindle) the intergalactic tourism influx.

Evandar's Cantina was located in a neighborhood that, while probably safe at night, you wouldn't walk around alone with your pockets stuffed full of credits. It was just enough off the beaten path that law enforcement didn't pass by with frequency. On the other hand, it wasn't so far off the beaten path that knife fights were a common occurrence. There was a certain equilibrium to the place where people generally accepted the rule of "don't be too much of a moron".

F2O2 leaned against the railing of the upper level of the establishment, which allowed a small overlook onto the main floor. It was not too crowded yet as the after-work rush had not arrived though they were due soon. F2 was waiting for a contact who might have a lead on a ship. That was the most limiting factor to his independence, the lack of hyperspace-capable transportation. And who would sell to a droid? F2 could try to pass himself off as a representative of a legitimate buyer, but he lacked the credentials and finding a document forger seemed like an unnecessary step.

Fey slinks through the doors that lead into Evander's Cantina, arms pressed tight around her side and secured into the straps of her sack she kept on her back. Her eyes remained trained on almost every alien and humanoid that came within a few feet of her. There was no trust for any creature that inhabited this Cantina at this hour, especially with the domain of no-man's land which Ruusan sat within.

Fey had no real business here- in this Cantina, that is. She was thirsty and had heard of Evander's as a good place to blend into regular intergalactic crowd. She slid past the doors, directly to the bar and promptly orders a tonic, pays, and quickly clears the main floor to the upper level of the cantina. There, away from the growing crowds, Fey can sip and watch, sitting at a chair overlooking the railing.

Ruusan was a free planet or so it thought of it's self. In truth the empire could drop by any time they wanted to and take it over. Still for now Jake was safe enough here. He had landed his light freighter some way out of town in the wildness to avoid any docking fees or questions and flew in to town on his grav board. The wind and blown his hair back as he flew in and with out googles it could of been blinding. Landing close to some canteena Jake jumped up and rested the board on the side of a wall.

Rubbing his eyes after removing his goggles Jake walked in side. The trip in to town had made him thirsty. The place looked clean enough and Jake had seen worse. Walking up to the Bar Jake dug in his pockets before placing a few coins down "give me something refreshing please" The bartender looked him over before placing a green drink before him and swooping the coins away. Taking a sip Jake now spent more time looking around the room.

The only things that caught his eye was a young pantoran girl, some thing about seemed different and lone protacall droid that was leaning against a railing. It was all most like the droid was relaxing and that just seemed strange. But for now Jake enjoyed the sweet drink in his hand.

John found himself on Ruusan, again looking for employment, fun, and a drink. He walked into one of the cantinas in the bar, and glanced around the room, looking for potential clients or allies. He walked throughout the bottom floor, looking for any familiar faces to strike up a conversation, but barely anyone was here because everyone was at work. John then proceeded to go upstairs, and perform the same action. Finding no familiar faces, he chose a spot to sit on the second floor, ordered a whiskey, and saw a droid leaning against the railing.

F2O2 did not see his contact yet, which meant the man was precisely 3.2487 standard minutes late. It was an acceptable deviation based on the traffic and travel times in this part of the city at this time. He would not begin to compute the possibility of a no-show for a while still. An unusual sight did draw his attention though. A person who was most certainly not of legal drinking age had purchased a drink, and the bartender had not even batted an eye. Interesting, but irrelevant to himself. F2 was not the Liquor License Police. He did not care.

The sounds of footsteps on the stairs reached his audio receptors and F2O2 turned his gaze to find the source. It was some man with a chrome dome. His contact was bald, but also was supposed to sport a beefy handlebar mustache. This person did not. He returned his attention to the main floor below, but that was soon interrupted by a table of what appeared to be off-duty painters still in work clothing. "Hey droid! Another round! And fast, eh?" the man's companions laughed as if it was funny for some reason.

"I am not a serving droid nor am I run by this establishment. I suggest you talk to the bartender," F2 replied helpfully.

"Oh bantha poodoo, you're a droid right? You're supposed to help me. Now go get us more drinks!"

If he had organic eyes, F2 would have rolled them. Instead he gave a pithy response. "No." Interacting with a table of drunk patrons was very low on his list of priorities right now. It seemed that the painter did not appreciate the rebuke, because a nearly-empty glass sailed across the upper floor, missed F2's head by a foot and a half, and fell down to the main floor where it struck someone and shattered.

Jake was watching the droid the entire time, mostly because it intrigued him so when some drunk cards began to bother him Jake moved to get a better look in case the got physical with the droid. Standing closer Jakes fears came true partially though since it seemed the drunkard was a poor aim and missed. Hitting a man on the back Jake watched him a large alien with a spiky with no hair stand up and throw a bottle back. It seemed he was a better shot hit the fool in the head. As he fell backwards arms splayed open he knocked over a bunch of drinks spilling them. The patrons standing up saw the mans friends trying to grab him and misunderstood the movements as a push and while even Jake could see a fight coming.

As the Tension grew Jake took this chance to make a quick buck by moving to check on the knocked out drunkard swiping a credit card with a deft hand has he did. Not like he would miss it and his friends where both drunk and busy. Though Jake did not want to be here if a fight did start and the cops arrived so he started to drag the man to a corner. Even a bantha poodi like him did not deserve to be crushed if a melee did start

John sipped his whiskey and heard the droid get into an argument with a man on the same floor. A bottle flew over the droid's head and over the balcony, hitting someone below. John grinned, this was starting to get interesting. A man rushed to the victim's aid and began pulling him away from the chaos. The man who threw the bottle got angry at either his miscalculated aim or the height dimensions of the droid. The man called a bunch of his friends over, and they pulled Vibro knife, slowly and cautiously approaching the droid. John decided he might as well get in, and even the balance, and walked over to the droid showing his hands palm up. "Hey, if you want to get out of here with all your gears intact, you should stick with me."
