So people can see how I developed, I'll show some examples of some of my posts.
Old:
Kai landed on a tree of the forests of Konoha. He looked beneath him, seeing another person.
*something along those lines: there are practically no records of my early years.*
Recent:
Panting only slightly from the long run, Seikouchi looked over his shoulder as those who fell behind gradually caught up. The assault is going to begin in minutes, if not seconds, and he could sense increased activity at the other end of the tear in the dimensional fabric.
He heard the 6th division vice-captain rattle off the predicted figures: roughly 500 hollows and a privaron espada (whatever that meant: probably something big, since there was a fraction of the mass of reiatsu that was higher than the rest), and cringed slightly. Further analysis of the reiatsu signatures indicated that those figures were accurate: Seikouchi estimated that there were at least 200 hollows, at this distance.
“They’re moving,” he commented, gripping his zanpakutou in both hands. Those words were not exactly necessary, but it eased his agitated nerves to know that he is not alone in this expected conflict. The 6th division captain has already performed a ‘kai to increase his combat potential. The surge of reiatsu surprised the 13th division member: enough that he forgot to breathe for several seconds. That being said, the 13th division captain would, most definitely, help balance the playing field: no ordinary hollow could defeat a captain, so Seikouchi believed. He hoped that this thought would never fail. Fighting a hollow at his level is an entirely different story, especially since there are hundreds of hollows that would come surging into Soul Society.
Seikouchi approached the door, reaching towards it with his recessive hand to see how strong the seal placed on it was. The shock was startling, and the shinigami retracted it as though he touched hot metal. It is definitely a reiatsu barrier, and a strong one too. Although he has experience in several espionage skills, the barrier’s strength is beyond his skill level. Curse his uselessness! The last thing Seikouchi wanted to be is a burden, which was what was being felt at this very moment.
Then, he felt the hollow movements cease, attracting his attention. It seemed queer in the way that a busy street would suddenly become utterly deserted. But the tension from those hundreds of reiatsu signatures did not end; they grew, probably as a result of this privaron espada’s doing. Then he had the faintest idea of what was going on: the assault was about to begin.
The shinigami took several large steps backwards, holding his zanpakutou tightly, as though dropping it would instantly kill him (though that was a definite scenario, considering the circumstances involving invasion). His jaw tightened with his grip, as Seikouchi blocked out the things swirling in his mind as he mentally geared himself for battle, including the thought of his family in Rukongai. Within seconds, he was what he was trained to be: a soldier of Seireitei defending his fortress from the enemy. To die here - No, it did not matter to anyone whether he died, except for his family… Ugh! The thought of his family again!
Seikouchi wiped his mind clean, imagining how this current scene would look like on a shōgi board. Knights, lances, rook, and bishop are in position; some of them are going to attack first, while the others are going to back the attacking forces up. Then there are the pawns that advanced and ready to intercept the enemy pawns, though some are not ready yet. The enemy gold and silver generals hung close to the Challenging King, as did the ally golds and silvers to the Reigning King. The enemy knights hung in the back, as did the lances, ready to pounce upon the shinigami forces. Rook and bishop seemed to be the first assailants: either the Rook Opening or Bishop Opening has been made on part of the hollows: a tactic that was easily recognized and prepared to counter. However, attacking the bishop early would leave the piece to fall under fire by the enemy rook. It would be best for the hollows to continue the game with their move: it is too risky to go on the offensive right there.
With the thought of shōgi in mind, Seikouchi was ready to fight.
