Sorry Guys. I just got back on. Please forgive me... I will edit my post to... avoiding the shots...

Negative. Those bullets are dead on with hitting your eyeball of a helmet. You're either dead or knocked out cold with no chance of getting up for a while.

How about you calm your balls down and read what you have already stated. Shall we?

So we were entitled to become some what confused at your statement. From our standpoint it reads that you were getting out of the way of my gunfire. But if you are on the ground like you are saying then everything will be peachy.

Now let us take a look at your edited post.

Great. Some freaking roleplay. What a waste of time. And Drafting, and of thinking.

Sorry it had to be this way, Erik. All I can say now is that you can write out your death which comprises of my sword being shoved through into your throat. If you don't feel like it, I'll do it for you.

That reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally helps. And if he just remained unconcious, I was already starting to write out his sort of "revival, if you will. But no. He's dead now. COmpletely. The greatest waste of time.

Characters die. I've lost characters with months of work put into them, really, it's part of Rp'ing.

Man up. :CHappy

That doesn't help. It doesn't magically revive the Dark Man like some Jason Voorhees rip off shit.

Listen dude that's enough. Maybe next time you should think twice about coming into a open thread and attempting to derail it. I'm going to relate with you though, I hated it but I still posted and kept to myself.

Hey Horizon, remember that time you lost a character during his own wedding? Double suicides ftw.

Good times. Oh the tom foolery! Remind me next time to keep invite only.

Also, Erik you don't need to consider this a waste of time. Take it as a learning lesson.

I had originally created him as a tribute to The Residents. Sorry Mr. Flynn, I've failed you as a fan. I'm sorry for ruining that sacred image.

It's not a real SWRP wedding until someone dies.

This. How many weddings have there been on SWRP? How many have not ended in the grisly death of 1 or more of the characters involved?

We're like Mad Men in space.

OK, OK, you made your point. I've been keeping up with this OOC because Horizon told me the thread was getting interesting.

Characters die. You went into the thread and tried to derail it by killing things, and realistically that got you killed as a result.

I've killed characters and had them killed; sometimes things just happen.

I don't know how many weddings there have been, but I'm pretty sure none of them haven't had a death. If they haven't, they're void in the eyes of God.

I have to emphasize this. I made my point about "characters die blah blah" in the Personal Notifications thread where Erik said he was leaving, but in this particular instance what Nevermore said is actually the most important point -- and it's one that was discussed a few months ago on the site in some thread that I can't remember as well.

When you go into a thread and purposely start killing shit, do not bitch and complain if it does not work out the way you intended it. Yes, that's coming across strong, but to walk into a thread and decide to kill people and then turn around and whine when you get killed is so ridiculously immature.

It's the same thing with a battle. You go into a battle in the war knowing that you might not come out the other side, but knowing that still allows the battle to be fun. But to go into a thread and just start killing people as if everyone's just going to roll over and die for you is an insane assumption. There are no guarantees. If you fight, you might die.

And as Horizon said:

Yeah, I love to fight and all that but honestly who ever started to get ballsy and start a useless fight is apart of the problem why there is usually not a lot of open roleplays.

That's 100% correct. Fights are great, but not every thread should be a fight! If you go into an open thread that wasn't set up to be a fight, respect that. Horizon is right in saying that people don't make a lot of open threads or join them because they're afraid that something like what happened in this thread is going to happen. If it happens naturally then that's great. If you force a fight into a thread for no other reason than just to have a fight, what you're doing is derailing the thread.

You may have wanted to tell the story of your character, Erik, but everyone else in this thread wanted to do that with their character's too in a relaxed club setting. They wanted to share their character's stories and experiences with other people rather than just killing them outright.

We as a site need to get out of this mindset that we have to kill people and blow shit up in order to be unpredictable in an open, free form role-play. Needless and mindless violence in open threads only serves to HARM the unpredictability and open atmosphere, not help it, because people will turn away from those if they just think their character is going to die because someone decided to shoot them for no reason. It leads to more, not less, threads marked as Ask, Invite, or Closed.

Yes I know, everyone wants to be the super badass center of attention in a thread, but if you want to do that then make your own open thread for it. Don't go into someone else's open thread and start shooting people just for the sake of looking like a badass, because that's exactly the impression I've gotten from what happened in this thread.
